The Torchlight QL made me want Diablo 3 so bad.
Yea, for the first half of that thing I was like "God what's the point of doing a single-player QL of a diablo clone". And then I realized...

Oh and fuck the haters, that Dragonball: Whatever The Fuck Subtitle game looked great. Screw those sods who actually knew the DBZ storyline but were foreign to the much superior original run. That intro alone did more to motivate me to get a Wii than anything I can think of.

Random semi-on topic question but can you guys skip around in giantbomb videos? Like you can on YouTube videos by just clicking somewhere on the timeline thingy, I've never been able to do that, I just assumed it was a limitation of their player but some comments in this thread make me think it's possible?

gotta let it buffer first.

No, it's definitely not possible to skip to non-buffered parts of videos. You'd have to wait for stuff to be buffered.

It looks stretched and funky if they don't, so they have to have some sort of border and using a picture of the system makes sense. Has something to do with the shape of the screen and resolution or somesuch.

Well, it would be easier to maximize the resolution to the edge of the screen and use normal letterboxing.

I remember a post from Jeff (I think) way back in this thread saying that the video tends to looks pretty poor when stretched out to fit more of the video player window (keeping the aspect ratio correct) so that's why they don't do it.

Those character models are among the worst I've ever seen. Jesus.

It's a shame because the actual quality of the models seemed quite decent with lots of intricate polygonal detail, but the designs are just horrendous.

I wish they'll eventually upgrade their player's resolution. 640x360 is just depressing.

Plus, it really blows when trying to judge a game's performance. Jeff was saying that the PC version of Borderlands had a smoother framerate, which doesn't come off in the video since the videos are capped @ 30fps. Made the Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 quick look kinda weird, too.

It was pretty funny when they posted the God of War Collection video, with the caption, "see how God of War will look in HD!"

They were horrible, it was great hearing Vinny try and pinpoint why exactly they were horrible though. Random "Their torso is too long...is it the arms? The torso..." thoughts would provide more entertainment than the game itself I'm sure.

Also, Afrika Quick Look

The heads looked like they were too small to me.

The heads were too small, the arms and torso were too long, the pants were too tight, and the midriffs were too bare. This is a valid complaint for every character we saw in the quick look.

Oh, and Sephiroth was wearing too much red.

edit: Just finished watching the Afrika quick look. It seems to accurately convey how boring the game is. Waiting for a hippo to yawn. Sounds terribly exciting and worth my time.

Afrika seemed surprisingly interesting to me considering how dead simple it is. Might buy… next year.
Same, although I don't have a PS3. Seems like a game to play every now and then when you just wanna take it easy. Would be perfect for $30. I would probably play it in short bursts, otherwise it might get boring.

I really wanna pick up Afrika after watching that Quick Look, though the fact that there's no voice work in the game when these realistic looking people's lips are obviously moving really weirds me out. Are the other versions like that too?
