Not all of them are so terrible, c'mon some of them only got like 2 minutes....

Johnny Platform game is pretty good.

Johnny Platform Saves Xmas has 100 levels in it and has a decent difficulty curve. Showing the first 3 levels isn't going to do anything for those guys at all.

Currently stuck on Level 62.

Try Halfbrick Blast Off! </shill>

90s PC crew represent. :lol
Probably nothing to be proud of of course, but I chalk it up to misspent youth!

Also, short QL for Altitude:

I bought the game because it was on sale on Steam. I quite like it - a modern Subspace but side scrolling.

Edit: Oh jeez, of course it's a Dave game. Ryan and Vinnie shitting all over it. :lol

"How much did this cost?"

"This is a $10 dollar game."

"Alright! So that's Altitude, available now!"

Good lawd :lol There are iPhone games that cost 1/10th the price that seem to offer more game than Altitude. Yeesh.

Still waiting for King Arthur!

Also, Jeff referenced Razor1911 and Fairlight. Man, that was a dark chapter in all our lives. :lol

In which QL?

They're really unfair to some of the indie games. If you played many XBLA games for as short a period of time, you would come to the same conclusion.

I think when they quickly make the buzzing sound it's a compliment.

God I love the X-Mas part when Jeff starts becoming suicidal. :lol

Some of it could just be that they're being video conscious. Like Miner: Dig Deep and Johnny Platform. Both games seemed fine, but they were pretty slow and no one really had anything to say, so I get the feeling they killed it for the sake of keeping the Quick Look entertaining.

Also, the people buzzing the games out were watching, rather than playing.

It's more fun than it looks. It's not digital crack like Gunbound but it's a pretty fun timewaster.

Loved the fact they did streets if fury on the indie games quick look.

With such a random mix of games they did it the best way possible, found it really funny, highlight was electric pole fixer or whatever it was.

It's understandable they have such a mix I think there's 500 indie games up there that's more than xbla.

Would love to see more but I think they would have to be recommended stuff in future as there's just too much stuff up there & a quicklook or incomptehesable or just middling games in that format could get old.

Loved the quick look though look forward to what video content the guys ate thinking up before the next game rush.

Are the Quick Looks always like that? I haven't seen one before. It was utterly hideous, I certainly won't be bothering again.
No they're not, usually they give a single game ~20-40 minutes of playtime to give people a general idea about what it is.

This was more a fun thing to show how awesomely bad some of the community games can be.

Try playing the game, it's amazing in a small inexpensive package.

what's with that stupid remark about servers? if they didn't ride Infinity Ward's cock so hard maybe they could even appreciate being given an option
honestly, ryan and jeff are usually the most vocal about hating games, but ryan seems to almost have something against modern pc gaming, I mean only six minutes?

It could be a preference thing. It's not about riding any developers cock, or anything in that regard. When I play a game I want to play it, I want to hit "Play Online Now" and do that. Not browse a long list of strange names and find somewhere to play. I just want to play.

I can fully understand why they are making fun of server lists, it's just plain annoying and in the way of the game experience.

No, it is, ever since the whole debacle, --which they discussed by just pointing how much cooler matchmaking was for them-- it's becoming more obvious, and if you want to just play then select quick match.
This quicklook just further shows their general predisposition towards pc games that aren't huge titles. They've even played much worse and boring games for longer, even cut dave off and he seemed to like the game enough to have some perks unlocked

They're console gamers that only like console ports on PCs. I don't blame them, that's their entire personal and professional life.

Jeff comes from a background of PC gaming, so he's more in touch with the stuff. He understands why there's a server list and why it has pros and cons. Ryan is more of the console gamer that thinks browsing for servers is more of a limitation than a feature, and that it wastes too much of his precious time.

He is obviously wrong. But whatevs

I know that, but it's not warranting of a pass, just because they're out of touch. Mostly, this quicklook was in a whole very unfair towards the game.

That's usually how their quicklooks are. If they don't like the game/it doesn't call for their attention, they just trash it. Ryan and Vinny are the most notorious ones that do it.

If they like the game, they actually weight the pros and cons of it. Brad and Jeff are usually more like this, and their opinions are well balanced.

They're mostly making fun of people who get bent out of shape about the whole thing.

The pixeljunk shooter one is amazing, once they get into coop.

they've played about 15 minutes of that one game with time travelling dinos, for Alltitude they played two matches, not even full sessions

and your point is? time travelling dinosaurs > PC gaming. QED

Sorry, but that looks utter crap. :lol

There's an Altitude demo available for some time now. I played it a couple months ago and it felt as boring as that quicklook made it look. I didn't like it at all.

Frawdder said:

Was wondering whether I should DL it, this definitely helped sell me on the fun of the co-op.

Altitude is a decent time waster. We've had it on the Mac for months now, and I played with it for a while. Some of the multiplayer is fun if that's your sort of thing. It wound up being a bit too random for me, TDM is a mess with stuff happening EVERYWHERE.

There's still Silent Hill Wii and Arthur coming this week, unless they're slacking off, which for some reason seems to coincide with Brad being away.
