Well, "full" is a relative term.

Not gonna lie.
I just watched the entire quick look even though I'm European and I know absolutely nothing about baseball.
Kinda interested in giving The Show a whirl. Is there a demo up on PSN?
yes

Man either the game is boring as shit or they choose the worst possible section to show it.

The mystery of the stolen 1000 Yen !!

I found the former personally, bought it and didn't manage to get more than a couple of hours into it before selling it back. I totally agree with Jeff's complaints on the Bombcast, too much time is spent getting to the action and not enough actually doing it.

GB always seems to buy their own games, and yet they constantly get free food and beverages. Something is wrong with this. WTF RAW BACON! No reviews or quick looks for the rest of the week, they all have e.coli.

Yakuza 3 is a really really bad game to do a QL of. The mere idea of quick and Yakuza together if they've spliced us a section from the beginning of the game doesn't go together, as it does start off at a slow pace, for good reason.

I've put about 14 hours into it and I'm on like chapter 4/5 :lol

I'll watch it anyway.

Same thing would have happened if they did a QL of Persona 4, which Giant Bomb loves but also had a really long start up time. Seems like a lot of games just aren't well represented by the QL format.

P4 has the advantage of being set in a high school which anyone can identify with... and, for better or for worse, is fully voiced.

Endurance run of e coli confirmed.

Nope, it's a shame, I think it's pretty daft to do a quicklook of Yakuza 3, people are getting put off by it.

If you don't like the genre, fine, but this is not a game you watch 20-30 mins of for a representation of it.

Persona 4 has about as much voice acting as Yakuza 3 does.

I'm with you. It's kind of like Jeff was saying at the end of the Quick Look - the game may be slow and plodding and behind the times in places, but there's an intangible charm about it that you can't help but get engrossed by because of the atmosphere and the fact that there's just not anything else like it. I gotta get this as soon as I get my PS3 back.

And OH SNAP STRANGE JOURNEY QUICK LOOK LET'S DO THIS!!!

Yakuza games are typically slow starting anyway, and I suppose prone to the Japanese tendency to handhold for longer than they really should, but with Y3 the problem is compounded because the opening Okinawa sections are meant to be slow paced for narrative purposes, so I can see that being very difficult for someone not more familiar with the series.

Saying that I can see how someone who just wants constant action would find the games laboruous, even when things do get going.

So what happened to that Deadly Premonition-QL/endurance thing they teased last week?

Who knows, maybe they are going to put it up this week or they quietly decided that it wasn't worth it, i am thinking it's the former.

Either they are recording a bunch of episodes this week, they're postponing it until next week, or they just let it quietly slip out of people's minds because they don't want to do it anyway...

The why tease us with it?

I'm a huge fan of SMT and the Persona games, but christ. Look at all the animation there isn't. That looks horrible. It's a shame, too, because I had assumed I'd be buying the game and didn't look at any media of it.

That was fine when it was on the SNES. You know, twenty god damned years ago.

edit: You know what? No, it wasn't. A static image of a person fading in from nowhere and disappearing just the same, only to be replaced by another static image of a different person in the exact same spot was never acceptable. It was tolerable, at best.

This Strange Journey Quick Look is totally great. :lol

I just wish they would do one for Infinite Space as well to help in my decision between those two games.

I think they will do one. Jeff at least mentioned on his Twitter that he is playing that too.

I already know that I'll get SMT.

These guys know how to make the greatest games look bad. They already lost my internet-respect with their horrible quick look for PD (wouldn't be surprised if they're doing damage to business with this, haha) but it has not always been like that! They should at least know what they're playing or try to figure it out before recording. Strange.

Quick look, quick look, quick look. What does the word quick mean to you? These are not meant to be some elaborate in depth videos that show you all the intricate layers a game contains. They are quick looks of the product in question.

Quick but not necessarily painful! ;D They still have a few minutes to fill and should try to not make it boring, imo. I like their concept but for some reason the videos lack some punch lately.
