I literally couldn't stop smiling throughout that entire quicklook, such a beautiful and delightful game and I'm so glad that Ryan felt the same.

Assuming it's not already taken, I'll have that as an avatar.

It's painful to watch Ryan playing that game. The skating may be janky, but Ryan clearly hasn't even figured out the most basic stuff. Like gaining some fucking speed and momentum. Uhg. :I

oh my god the chase for the flying tab could have been an official commercial. this QL is perfect.

QL of the year, folks.

Wow that was a great quicklook. I thought Epic Yarn looked okay at E3. The whole felt thing seemed a little gimmicky. However, after that QL, I really want to buy a Wii and play this immediately.

It's so damn THOUGHT OUT. HAL became one with the sewing itself!

I just tried watching the Dead Space motion comic thing. Are they out of their minds? Who would pay a single cent for that? I would say it looked like amateur hour, but I can go to Newgrounds and find thousands of amateur videos way more impressive than that. Just eww.

Great sequel idea!

People will hat eme for this...

Kirby looks super cute and has great art, but it really looks like the gameplay is for babies.

the happiness in that kirby quick look is infectious, i was giggling with joy throughout.

squeeeeeee

I don't get that, all this moaning and squealing of grown up men was weird and creepy as hell :|

Oh God, the skate series has made every other skateboarding game unwatchable.
This game was never going to be something like Skate. Even the older Tony Hawk games are still great and I'd rebuy them if there were HD versions of them available. Comparing those games is like comparing Ridge Racer to Gran Turismo...

Every single Kirby game is like that.

Go play Kirby and the Amazing Mirror, and come back and tell me that.

Kirby games have never really "felt" easy, to me, even if I didn't die that often in them. However, Epic Yarn seems like it could be treading in to Yoshi's Story territory (another hyper-cute thing that could be barely classified as a "game"), and Yoshi's Story was awful.

You poor soul.

Anyone who doesn't smile during that Kirby Quick Look really must be dead inside, there's no two ways about it.

The levels that we saw in that quick look would be equivalent to Spring Breeze in Super Star, which was also incredibly, incredibly easy. I'm sure later levels are just unchallenging.

That quick look was pretty amazing, and it may be my favorite (maybe Def Jam Rapstar).

The changing the world around you and guiding rails thing is fantastic and makes me really want to check out the game, but my God, the advertising in that Shaun White thing is heinous. This might honestly be the worst case of advertising gone awry since Guitar Hero 3.

Yes, I realize a game where you're grinding large neon rails isn't supposed to be a simulation. I was referring to the visuals, obviously the game isn't publicly playable to assess the actual gameplay. The skater's movements look like they have little bearing on what's actually occurring. There doesn't look like there's an actual connection between the pushing animation and movement, the momentum coming down vert ramps looks off, the way characters look like they're on swivels when they turn in the air is jarring, etc.

Only just started watching but why the hell isn't Jeff on this Quick Look? Judging from comments on the Bombcast and such he is pretty much the only wrestling fan on the GB crew, or is at least well versed and still watches it semi-regularly.
Alex Navarro being on makes perfect sense. There was a whole sidebar on The Death of WCW on Behind the Screened Door this week. :P

i think they got the shaun white thing wrong, the whole 'man' thing is clearly meant to be an extreme communist society 1984 style thing where everyone has to dress the same and has no choices, and so you are effectively fighting off the communists with good old capitalism and advertising, so it does make sense.

That Kirby QL was hilarious just to listen to Ryan and Alex talking about how adorable it is. I am glad to see they have been putting out a lot of QLs lately and I still have a couple to watch.

I remember hearing somewhere that Alex has a luchador mask collection. I think the mask Luchadeer wears came from him :lol

Man. On the one hand I really like some of the ideas implemented here - the way the world changes based on your travel, the freeform rail control...

On the other hand, the skating itself doesn't look all that great (someone said it could have to do with Ryan's incompetence?) and then there's the hypocrisy with the blatant ingame commercials in a game about fighting against "the man", which just makes this a lughing stock. :/

Looks hilarious. For entertainment, I like the over-the-top luchadore style much more than the straight-faced seriousness of modern US wrestling. Gameplay looks pretty bad, though. Might be worth it for die hard wrestling fans.

I stand corrected on the Luche libre quick look then, didn't know Alex was well versed. Still would've been cool to have it be a Jeff and Alex QL in that case.

Anyway, the game itself does look pretty stiff and suffers from the same old terrible animation transition every wrestling game has. That being said it has a certain charm in it's style.

I like that Kirby's Epic Yarn and Super Meat Boy are basically polar opposites, and are coming out within a few days of each other.
