i would not visit GB if it was not for brad

i didnt care about jeff gerstmann or ryan davis when they left gamespot

but as brad shoemaker left i was like

okay thats it. and when GB opened with brad as a founding member i was like

yup this is the new gamespot

now GB is definately not anything like gamespot. but brad was the reason and is the reason why i would visit that site,.

Sidenote: It's a shame that Brad wasn't on the Pac-Man Party quick look. It could have been another NSMB Wii type quick look. Though, it was still very funny with Jeff, Ryan, and Vinny.

Wow, douchebag meter just went through the roof. WTF was that with dissing a game like that? Sure, might not be Mass Effect 2, but it looked nice, no major flaws. The guy was even pissed/confused that it released at $40, what is wrong with that? Bad thing that we have to spend $20 bucks less for a game they get a promo copy of?

The whole time both of them were giggling like a bunch of morons - hahahahahha, talking animal, hahahahaha fatsy speaks funny. How old are they, 10?

I'm thinking the passive/agressive thing is a either a mood thing or their way of making the funny. I didn't appreciate it much myself because it's not fair at all, but didn't think it really mattered because the game pretty much spoke for itself in the footage. I think it looks very solid.

Maybe they just need a week off or something.
 
Anyone going to GB for objectivity and breadth of content need to look elsewhere. GB was specifically built from the ground up to not be like Gamespot or IGN. If they want to be grumpy and bash the shit out of a game, they can and they will.

Dare I say.......deal with it?

Also, did you miss the part at the end where Vinny was really excited about the game, said how he really wanted to play it and was going to go buy a copy of his own?

Brad's pretty much the voice of reason in GB. I mean, the guy always seems pretty knowledgeable about the games he talks about. At the very least he might think to give a shit while the others (mostly Jeff) will just be like, 'meh', and never really comment why.

I love all the GB guys and if you lost one than the rest would suffer for it.

Yeah, seriously. Majin may be a solid game, but the voice acting and cliche was certainly unintentionally comical and if we don't want the GB guys to make fun of this anymore (even at the expense of a more serious coverage) they might as well stop doing QLs.

You must be new to Giant Bomb, they laugh at 3/4's of the games they do Quick Looks of, and while many times it's at the game's expense (and deservedly so, more often than not), here it wasn't that malicious. By the end they both said they were intrigued by the game and Vinnie even said he was considering picking it up. If you like the game than that's great, but the first thing that Ryan, Jeff, Brad and Vinnie like to do during Quick Looks is point out what's bad or sub-par about the game they're playing (especially if one of those things is voice-acting).

You want to watch a QL were they really just do nothing but laugh at and shit on a game the whole time? Go watch the Punisher War Zone QL with Ryan and Vinnie :lol
 
Those animal voices were deserving of all the mockery in the world.

And I think GB's quicklooks are fucking great. Watching a game being played does so much more in my decision to purchase a game than reading a review. I hardly ever read reviews anymore.

Brad said he bought it from Amazon when it was on sale.

This has always been their style during ql's though so I don't get the hate. And they were interested in the game and vinny said he might pick it up. When they think a game is shit they flat out tell you not to buy it.

I know Brad is the one who always dies in QLs but its Ryan who is the worst at video games. And he admits that but he still knows his shit.

The Vinny bit about the rat putting on his "rat voice" to speak to humans while the other rats are like "What are you doing" says it all.

I agree Brad was overly down on the game, but I never thought I'd see a shitty voice acting defense force.

Those animal voices were fucking horrible and the publisher/dev should be mocked for getting such "talent" to be in the game.

Get over it. The game is good, but not great. Nothing wrong with that, and they continually said they were interested in it. Just cause they don't love something you may love does not give you license to mock them.

Nobody would have bought it if not for amazon's $22 bomba sale on that one. I know I wouldn't have.

I tried the game ,not just the demo (since my friend bought it ), it's complete boring fest and very repetitive to it's core , and this is from someone who love Folklore and think it's is the most underrated game this gen.

and I don't think it's a sacred cow in GAF now ( this is nothing like Epic Micky , Bioshock or Braid) it's OT is so small and few people bought it , it's just because people think Brad was too harsh on it in the QL even when he don't know why he didn't like it when Vinny asked him.
 
Listen guys, I'm the first to criticize J-devs. And I'm not so fond of the PS3 library in general. Heck, I'm a PC dude with a fetish for broken eastern EU FPSes. The game just isn't actually horrible going by that footage.

Well… That title has its issues. I was one of the idiots that looked forward to it for years though, so the release version being a huge bummer had its impact.

I kinda see the " Japanese developer" thing but Game Republic was not really PS3 "exclusive" developer , after their first game Genji on PS2 they made Every Party for Xbox 360 in 2005 , then Genji 2 in 2006 and Folklore for PS3 and in 2007 then in 2008 they made Dragon Ball: Origins for Nintendo DS , and that piece of shit Clash of the Titans for PS3 and 360 in 2010 , so they were always open and never exclusive developers for Sony/PS3 or anyone.
 
I'm not angry. I don't really give a fuck, honestly. I just expressed my feeling at the time I watched the QL.

Call of Pripyat is amazing, you should play it if you haven't. It's a flat $20 on Steam, way better than Clear Sky, and relatively bug free.

"They"? Brad was far more negative about the game than Vinny. Vinny made fun of most of the voice actors (but not the Teddie-rat, even though he didn't recognize the voice) but he was generally positive about the game and even convinced Brad to keep going when Brad was already sick of it.

Brad said multiple times that the game "had some charm to it" and that there was nothing specifically that he disliked about it.

Just that it seemed a bit "for kids".

Which, I mean, yeah. I know there's people here raging about the Team ICO comparisons but that was definitely my knee-jerk reaction, too. It's like kid-friendly mash-up of ICO, Shadow of the Colossus, and maybe even The Last Guardian, but with talking animals, dopey voices and crazy anime hair.

That's not to say its bad.
