its a good watch, he's actually kinda witty at times, i just chalk it up to nervousness.
I don't fault it for him at all. Its just sort of like the thing where people say you are now breathing manually and you become conscious of it.

yeees cargo!

The Void is my favorite game. of all tiiiiime.
I totally forgot the team that made The Void were making a new game. At least the "Buddies" aren't as anatomically correct as the "Sisters" from The Void. Now THAT would be terrifying. I might buy it when it's $10 or less. The "Satan" looking head killed me. I mean... fuck. It's like Nuts & Bolts meets... I dunno. A combination of Oddworld and LSD?

The "heads" reminded me of a mechanical version of Crash Bandicoot

For as much of a slow week as it's been, all the games they've taken a look at this week (well, except for Cargo; I'm still trying to figure out what the hell I watched there) have looked pretty excellent. I was thinking about picking up NinNin Jump when I saw it on XBLA last night, and that Quick Look was all I needed to be convinced to jump in. Definitely gonna check out Gemini Rue and Hector, too.

Cargo is definitely the best game they showed this week. Hopefully it's on HH.

i wish they would be a bit more all encompassing with their quick looks. it did feel like they were literally doing every new release a while ago, but recently they have missed a lot of stuff

i know they tend to not look at stuff if its something none of them are interested in, which makes sense because they are generally less entertaining when they just dont really care about the game.

but theres definitely some value in having a video of what its like coming to the game fresh and playing the first 20 minutes of it when it comes to deciding whether to buy it or not. i generally go by giantbomb videos and gaf hype when it comes to deciding which games to buy these days, and there are a few games i was on the fence about and that don't have much media coverage that it would be really useful to have gb videos of.

stuff like knights contract, final fantasy XIV, cladun, parasite eve 3rd birthday.. its weird because they have said there just arent games coming out to do videos of in the past, when there were infact plenty that they just ignored.

maybe they don't have time, but if they are not putting up many videos and saying its because there are no games coming out, maybe they could do some of this stuff, even if it is retrospectively?

I dunno, Gemini Rue looked really interesting. Of course, being an old game may be seen as cheating.

It's a brand new game designed to look like it's running on the SCUMM engine. Brilliant idea in my opinion.

We knew that ever since they showed the very first footage of the game.

Which was a month ago.

BUY THE DS VERSION!

I really don't understand why Sega is unable to create a decent movie tie-in. I think at this point there have been enough examples that it can work. Oh well I guess most companies still just see it as a cheap cash-in which is sad.

I love your support for the DS version though. That one does indeed look interesting.

Next Level Games is working on Captain America. So that's something.

They also produced shit without Nintendo supervision. I am not yet convinced of Captain America. From the preview videos I already saw some potential problems.

They made Spider-Man: Friend or Foe and Transformers: Cybertron Adventures..so yeah that poop worthy track record on movie licenses and action.

It's just hurt me that SEGA wasting their money and time on Movie licenses (even bought Secret Level and killed them then founded Sega Studios San Francisco) and they ended with this poor quality games like this one.

SEGA hired Edge of Reality for The Incredible Hulk (2008) and that was good game, they need developers like them, or just Save money, hire Platinum Games to make Shinobi 2, and leave this crap Movie licenses business for THQ and Activition.

Whoever kinda likes Universe Sandbox, or space in general for that matter, should also check out Celestia. Hasn't got the whole particle deal, but it's free software, catalogues as much as possible, is extensible, supports annotated flythroughs, lets you search, follow, center, orbit, hi-res textures, whatever. Windows, Mac OS X, Linux.

Yes! I was trying to think of what that program was called after the QL. It was driving me crazy. I'd like celestia with universe sandbox's physics.

It's OSS. So maybe some physics lab freshman course will extend it somewhen so that it does that.

Generally, there's a lot of Celestia addons that introduce objects beyond the out-of-the-box catalogue, like for example exoplanets; an addon listing is here.

Well, I doubt it's a waste of money for them, because even shit licensed games still make money just based on the license. I'm fine with it as long as they use that money to also put out quality games.
