So awful.Darklord said:I hate those cutscenes so much.
Haven't played Apocalypse, of course, but Pacific Rift and Arctic Edge are fantastic.Dizzy-4U said:Pacific Rift is superior then? I was planning on getting one of those just because of the 4-players split screen.
You might say they are redundant.grkazan12 said:Yeah idk Motorstorm is not looking too good or interesting for that matter and can some devs stop using digital comics as cut scenes. I loved infamous, but man did I hate those cut scenes. They're uninteresting and not compelling.
Pacific Rift it is then. Should be fun, I'm so hungry for 4 player local games on PS3.I AM JOHN! said:Haven't played Apocalypse, of course, but Pacific Rift and Arctic Edge are fantastic.
Totobeni said:This look super crap, well I can't say I am shocked, since Apocalypse demo was so very bad, and they still keep the awful Rubber Band AI ,It gave me e-plague.
Evolution Studios need to do something new now, MotorStorm series need to go away for real, just kill this bomba series already,The PS2 WRC games were good, go and make something like that again, maybe use the Project Gotham Racing lead designer dude who joined the studio and try to make something like his games.
What's up with all the 'ayo' stuff? It's really annoying me because I don't get it.wolfmat said:QL: The Next Big Thing (Ryan, Vinny) (41 minutes)
I kinda got the Jet Moto vibe when I saw the broken asphalt. I'd give all my moniez for a new one. The first two were soooo good.Sega1991 said:Am I the only one getting a hardcore 1996 Jet Moto/Twisted Metal vibe from Motorstorm Apocalypse?

Who fucking knows? I sure don't. Maybe related to the IM slang, where it means "Hey you!", but it remains a mystery.Zomba13 said:What's up with all the 'ayo' stuff? It's really annoying me because I don't get it.

Yeah, I am sure there are bits lost in translation. Overall the script has been the best part of the game (about halfway through myself)SalsaShark said:Game is originally in Spanish, the whole translation looks a bit weird.
Ouch. I got Ignition for free and still feel like I overpaid.Havok said:Can we as a society agree that motion comics are terrible and ban them from games?
Of course, I'm part of the problem, having wasted my money on the awful Dead Space Ignition to get the weapons and armor...
(also, look forward to a low Motorstorm score from Alex, he's been vocal on Twitter about how he doesn't like the game at all, even without the PSN issues of late)

I honestly can't imagine a scenario in which a motion comic would be preferable to actual animation. Every time I see a motion comic I just imagine some producer somewhere hoping he could save money by only having to animate one frame every ten seconds or so instead of twenty four every one second.Havok said:Can we as a society agree that motion comics are terrible and ban them from games?
Nope. InFamous.Havok said:Can we as a society agree that motion comics are terrible and ban them from games?

you definitely can, im not sure how jeff missed it. first person is really the best way to play motorstorm, very intense and great sense of speedKabuki Waq said:holy fuck they could not change the view in Motorstorm?
You're 100% right on that, those cutscenes truly are horrendous :lolAcridMeat said:While I can see where you're coming from to a point, no one can defend those cutscenes.
No way, Motorstorm has always played really weirdly. Those games feel so weird.Yoshichan said:He's simply playing it "wrong".
I'm sure his poor mood is what turned his car right around when he dented the fender of another racer, or made those indestructible poles appear out of nowhere.Yoshichan said:I wouldn't worry about Apocalypse looking like crap when played by Jeff. He's cool and all but he's terrible at racing games, let alone arcade racers like MS. He's simply playing it "wrong".
edit: Also, the fact that he says he's not into Motorstorm at the start of the quick look pretty much says it all. Why put him in the QL if he doesn't like the franchise? It just puts a negative tone to the video, and it's clearly affecting people watching it.
Motorstorm's always played different is the correct use of word. It's "weird" for someone who's new to the franchise but once getting used to, it's really good.Jtwo said:No way, Motorstorm has always played really weirdly. Those games feel so weird.
It's called third person racing. And the different handling is nothing new to the Motorstorm franchise.Aaron said:I'm sure his poor mood is what turned his car right around when he dented the fender of another racer, or made those indestructible poles appear out of nowhere.

I've played a lot of racing games, and the only other one that handles like that is Banjo: Nuts and Bolts, which is about as unflattering a comparison as I can make. Split / Second, which this game seems to borrow from heavily, doesn't have these same handling problems.Yoshichan said:It's called third person racing. Again: the handling has been the same throughout the whole Motorstorm franchise. You either like it or don't. Jeff clearly isn't fond of previous MS, so what a surprise - he's not into Apocalypse!Aaron said:I've played a lot of racing games, and the only other one that handles like that is Banjo: Nuts and Bolts, which is about as unflattering a comparison as I can make. I'm guessing you prefer cars to control more like shopping carts.Yoshichan said:edit: Here's an example. I played the demo of Split/Second and absolutely disliked how the handling worked in that game. How come?
I guess that must be the case then? Thanks Aaron for clearing that up for me, it's been bugging me lately.Aaron said:I'm guessing you prefer cars to control more like shopping carts.
If you enjoyed how the game looked from this quick look, I think you might've had the QL on mute. You'll love the game.Am I the only one who liked how Motorstorm looked?
