When the point of a QL is to showcase the game for viewers, you really should be reading up on the game or practicing a bit before hopping in. I don't really get the point of a QL if they're constantly saying "I don't know what that does".

That said, I love the GB guys. They're really entertaining guys, and I really enjoy both the site and the podcast. I just find watching them play actual video games beyond maddening.

Don't tell anyone, but I know about a secret glitch on Overgrown when you can get under the map and kill everyone.
 
I don't like the cover system in Journey. I mean, it's obvious that it's bringing its own problems with itself (like when it picks the wrong surface, for example). Also, I think the weapon modeling is kind of amateurish. Come on, that's not a proper scope right there! And the enemies are bullet sponges, wtf is that
 
Really disappointed in how easy it was for Brad to get Prestiges in Journey. Its like they were trying to make a parody ala Duty Calls except were completely earnest about it.
 
I'd buy this for $20 one day one easily. It looks so beautiful and hopefully it'll be less pretentious then Flower.

Flow was 5 and Flower was 10 though when it was released right? Since Journey seems to be a longer experience I'm predicting an increase.
 
Journey's multiplayer suprises me. You can't invite your friends and you have not control over randoms coming into your game? Those two things are really offputting.

Fair enough, but it's not for lack of effort, they want to you to play with someone you don't know and can't communicate with.

That's possible yeah. In an ideal world they'll also just want to play, but they could just be in there moving stupid to piss you off.

I'm going to play solo first time, no doubt.

He does and it's fucking great that he knows a thing or two and drops the knowledge bomb at times, not that Jeff, Ryan and Brad playing isn't entertaining but I really enjoyed Patrick in this quicklook even though he isn't constantly making jokes.
 
Patrick is a fantastic compliment to the existing Bombcast crew. I suspect half the problems people had with this week's Bombcast wouldn't have existed had he been there to offer his perspective.

He's always seemed like a class act to me. I don't get the hate.

Half the problems people had with the bombcast this week were caused by people who can't interpret subtlety. Something Klepeck has none of. He's constantly loud. So, so loud. That's my big problem with him. Everytime I hear him, I just imagine he's bouncing off the walls like a 15-year old kid.

I can't speak for everyone else, but for me, hate has nothing to do with it. I merely prefer Vinny, Jeff, Brad and Ryan.

It's a matter of preference, not hatred. I don't find him entertaining. Sorry. Certainly don't hate the guy, though.

That being said, Journey looks awesome. Don't even really know what's going on in there since I haven't been keeping up with any pre-release media, but definitely day 1 for me.
 
I'll just say that Journey Quick Look was one of the better ones I've seen in awhile because of how informative and knowledgeable Patrick was.

I completely agree. What has the guy done to rile up such contempt? Made a few forceful, lame jokes? Heaven forbid. Brad, Vinny, or Alex have never done that! (That was sarcasm. They have, and I still appreciate all of them being on the crew.)

Patrick is fine, like I said before he needs to realise when he's hogging unnecessary time. His knowlage of the industry is a great addition to Giantbomb.

When has Vinny ever made a bad joke? His name is tantamount to »a joke with distinction«. He can just hold is breath for a second, say »cunt« and you'll all be slapping your knees, because you know that he knows that you know he'd never dare utter such a vile word.
 
I'm not sure what it is about Patrick, guy just rubs me the wrong way. Couldn't make it through the Jouney QL because of him.

No one loves Vinny more than me, but his "Lets make a Call of MMOCraft... you know what I'm saying combine these two properties" Bobby Kotick joke from the time they accidentally predicted the IW firings falls flat.

And it pains me everytime I hear it because its the only time he's made a comedic misstep.
