Eh, I don't really care about who people like from the GB crew, I just saw prime opportunity for a Giant Bomb meme. I just think the big arguments about it are silly, I don't like Kessler all that much but I don't really post about it, and even then I doubt I dislike him as much as some folks do. Besides, I do actually think he did a good job in this Cap QL.

I think they have mentioned that they can tell how much of a video people watch. So there's that, I guess?

They certainly can tell that you finished a video for the achievements at least.

I don't know, there's certainly people at GiantBomb (and WM in general) that I don't much care for as broadcasters/ writers, that's to be expected, it's a suite of sites built on the philosophy of personality driven content, but the crazy whining that goes on from people just strikes me as tantrums from petulant manbabies.
 
I don't mind bitching, but atleast be a little constructive and try to discuss it. Most of the time it so flaimbait written, that their is no real discussion.

This is real simple folks. Either watch the video or don't. This thread is not for bitching about who is participating in the video or for how poorly someone plays a game. It's to note when they update their quick looks. If you want a thread to make pointless complaints about the way they do things, create your own thread. This isn't the one for it.

That said, constructive criticism instead of "Oh no, Kessler! *bitch bitch bitch*" would be better.

I agree. I'm all for constructive criticism but unfortunately only a select few people know what that is in this thread. Personally, I'm grateful that Giant Bomb is more than willing to show us a glimpse into games that I'm on the fence about or just new games in general.
 
Kessler seems to be competent at game mechanics and willing to show off a broad range of what a game has to offer, which is in contrast to two of the main criticisms people levy on a lot of other Quick Looks. I don't really care about having a game played perfectly and am more interested in being entertained, but those who want more 'straight' Quick Looks shouldn't ignore any that Kessler is involved in going forward.

The worst are the 'I saw it was 'person X' and immediately closed my browser window, threw my computer in a cement mixer, waited for the cement to dry and threw the whole thing into the ocean' people. It's admiting that you are throwing out a bunch of hate whilst being a delibarately uninformed ass. Neither Jeff or Kessler are my first choice for QLs, especially run of the mill movie license cashins, but the Capn.America QL was perfectly fine.
 
A majority of people tend to hate what's new. Everyone is used to the regular Giant Bomb crew so immediately they think poorly of Kessler. I think he does just fine in the quick looks. The guy is trying his best to fit in. You can't fault him for that.

I can understand people ignoring something sight-unseen based on past experience, but it's a shame because the Cap QL was relaxed and informative. Kessler does do a better job when the other's sitting in don't make it hard for him. Based on this QL he's toned down the try-hard as well, which is something Alex hasn't managed to do with years of opportunity, so props for that.

Captain America may be a little repetitive but I'd rather beat up nazi over clowns anyday. It's just a shame Next Level didn't expand on exploration like Rocksteady did in Arkham.
 
What a lot of meanie heads in here.

Also everything that wasn't Captiain America himself wasn't so hot in that game. That shield is bad ass and it makes me hope that the developers can make an awesome sequel.
 
Brad is bad when he first picks up a video game, gets awesome and overtakes the rest of the crew after he puts a bit of time in. BRAD FTW.

I think Brad is mostly bad under pressure, like during a quick look.
 
I like all the guys... but yeah, Brad QLs can be really painful.

Dont see the problem with kessler, and patrick news are interesting.

The Bastion QL didn't sell the game on me. I would have liked to see more of the story. Still not sure if I'm gonna pick this one up or not.
 
Hope they are quick with the Bastion PC release. Looks great.

And we do only see Brad playing when he's talking, I just think he's worse at that than the others.

It seems to me that Kessler is still trying to find his confidence when he needs to perform. I think he has the potential to grow into the job. I felt he did a much better job in the Capt. America quicklook compared to EDF 2017 because Jeff wasn't constantly giving him shit the whole time. I think he needs a few more chances to stretch his legs like this and /relax/ so that he doesn't feel obligated to force humor, because forced humor always falls flat. I hope they lay off him more in the future so that he can grow faster, and then eventually learn to take the shit after he's already developed a base of confidence.
