There are poor critics in all areas, including QuickLook viewers.djm said:Most of it is really immature criticism, though. People basically pick apart everything he does in QLs now looking for mistakes to post up.
StuBurns said:It's not playing shit that's irritating, it's blaming the game. Being bad at SotC or RE4 is fine, saying the game is releasing your grip, or a bad guy is taking a whole clip in the chest is misrepresenting the game..
No_Style said:Dropped by seeking some funny QL moments that I missed. What do I find? People still disgruntled that their favorite games aren't played "correctly" during Quick Looks.
Sadness.

I'll never understand this. I'd never think anyone under the age of say 18 would get into Giant Bomb, since most of their humor (or at least Jeff and Ryan's) leans so heavily on early to mid 90's pop culture being they're all in their mid 30's. I've tried reading the chat during TNTs and can only stand about 30 seconds.DaBuddaDa said:The complaining about Brad's QLs in GiantBomb's own official forums makes GAF seem like puppies and rainbows in comparison.
StuBurns said:This thread turned a pale shade. I like Brad, but if he can't take a little criticism maybe it is best he stay off a place where people can express themselves if he likes the expression or not. Kind of ironic for a game critic to be offended by criticism.
The more GiantBomb push their gonzo journalism and cult of personality, the more this is going to happen.
_Alkaline_ said:I don't give one shit if Brad doesn't know what yellow herbs do. No one does.
StuBurns said:GAF skews old because it requires a paid email address and is modded hard, well, those things almost certainly help. Except a few 'secret' gaming boards for devs, I imagine Quarter to Three has the oldest user base.
_Alkaline_ said:Yes, maybe one or two people in this thread are actually serious and have some real venom towards him, but even if that's so - why care? It's just criticism from a vocal minority. Either have a laugh, take something from it, or ignore it.
Brad - Don't be so touchy. Do keep making great videos.
Don't bring that shit here!Kritz said:
Looks fantastic to me. I got the beta and the voice acting for my character was a nice surprise. Haven't been following it closely. Really looking forward to the full game now. I only played a tiny bit.Goldmund said:The Diablo III Quick Look passed us by almost without comment. People who were bothered by the art style might be relieved: the gameplay seems to have very little to do with Diablo II, as well. There's no need to sink your teeth into the character customization and skill paths anymore. Blizzard has you covered. Click away.
It looks good, yes. And that seems to be it. You don't build your character anymore. You select which one to have at any given point. I don't know. That's the one aspect I really liked about the game. A slow progression, with a distinct goal in mind. All that seems to be left is loot.LiK said:Looks fantastic to me. I guess Blizzard knows better these days. In business, there's money to be made, not hearts to win.Jintor said:It's certainly a different way of doing things. We'll see if it's more worthwhile. Looks like it's all slot-in slot-out now. I can see why you'd be annoyed that it's gone, but I can also see people who fuck up their build and only realise it five levels later being less pissed off.
Xanathus said:If a few bad apples is enough to hate on a forum, you probably don't read the giantbomb forums at all.
There's more whining about the teasing than actual teasing at this point. Two or three posts was all it took to start 3+ pages worth of back and forth. It's time for people to just ignore the criticism and move on.slaughterking said:I think we shouldn't make too big of a deal out of this, because it makes this 'situation' even worse than it should be. A lot of us have already expressed that some people are taking the "teasing" too far and now even Brad himself said that he sees no point in reading these threads anymore. I don't intend to forbid anyone to speak (especially when it's appropriate), but the last two or three pages should be enough to give people something to think about (which is also true for certain Klepek and Kessler critics) -- and now we should just go on and be nice and reasonable again.
Pathetic.Mzo said:I've watched a lot of Quick Looks and have never really had any complaints.
Unfortunately, the SotC Quick Look got to me personally because it not only made one of my favorite games look clumsy and random, it also insinuated that the controls were glitchy. People in the SotC thread here on GAF itself who have never played the game admitted to being turned off to it by the Quick Look because it looked so frustrating.
Forgetting the main mechanic behind the game and not even taking one or two minutes to look at the instruction manual before you "play the game in front of thousands" as people have said, was a big mistake. It's not the end of the world, but it was a rather big enough mistake to justify him taking some shit from people.
Thanks for your input.cjelly said:Pathetic.

That's an acceptable criticism. It's the people who go "Brad fucking sucks how does he even have a job playing games? What a fucking moron!" or acting like it's a serious personal offense he has done. Same applies for Kessler. Coming in and saying stuff like "He makes he sick he's such a fat disgusting fuck I won't even watch this QL." It's just acting like an angry piece of shit.Mzo said:I've watched a lot of Quick Looks and have never really had any complaints.
