Geis is basically the one reviewer outside of gb i actively try to find reviews from and love rebel fm this found me amazing.

I'm in the opposite camp. Arthur just rubs me the wrong way, and his opinions are always the antithesis of mine, but I wish no ill will or anything. It's just my opinion. To each their own, etc..

I know it's hard for some people to imagine, but there are plenty of people who only game on Xbox Live or PSN. They don't even know Steam exists. It's just a way to market the game, nothing more.

Its a bit silly how no one mentions it, ever.

I thought Anti-Venom was usually a good guy. Damn these alternate timelines!

He is. He's being controlled by Val Kilmer in this game.

(no joke)

Also, BatmanBatmanBatman, I have Edge of Time, and it cribs VERY little from Akrham Asylum. The closest you can get to that, is playing the Noir Sections of Shattered Dimensions.

The best part about Edge of Time is that it looks like it should be DLC, but it's actually WORSE than Shattered Dimensions.

Beenox, maybe you should go back to movie based games. Maybe Avalanche could teach you a thing or two from TOY STORY

Seriously, after playing through Arkham City over a sustained weeklong review period this Spiderman game is almost offensive. I'm pretty sure the PS1 Spiderman game was far more awesome.

I like how without fail whenever the guys list off all the Spider-Man titles they fail to include Ultimate Spider-Man. I thought that game was pretty dope personally.

They mentioned Ultimate in the quick look, though very briefly.

Did they mention the game? I thought they only mentioned the existence of the Ultimate Spider-Man character in the previous game.
Actually, you're right. They were talking about the character, not the game. It reminded me of the game when they said it, but they didn't mention it specifically.

Does anyone know if there's actually a dodge move in that Spider-Man game or was Ryan just pulling a Ryan? I don't want to cast aspersions on the man, because that game did look real shitty, but there had to be a better way to approach that bossfight than just walking into Anti-Venom's attacks until an invisible timer ran out, right?

I was hoping that the game would be at least palatable, but the quick look cemented my frown face with every passing minute. Even though the graphics engine looks solid, the game play felt incredibly mundane and lifeless. That Anti-Venom boss fight was just lazy-ass game design. Which I do not tolerate.

I like the character models in this game, but that is unfortunately the only thing too.

Really bad quick-look. Why get Jeff on it if you know he loathes the series? Turned off at the point in which they claimed it was a part of the game to run through the start and resetting it despite me not doing that once in the other games.

The game looks pretty bad though given how much it carries over from 2.

That feature is in the game. How is it not part of the game, exactly?

Cuz I think it's because Jeff heavily played the first one and his views about Frank would apply. Jeff represents people like me who isn't into DR after the first one.

I thought this was a pretty well-accepted convention of the series --- the fact that you could/may have to grind some levels and restart from the beginning in order to complete the game.

Never played DR2 retail --- just the XBLA pre-release "Case Zero".

"Part of the game" doesn't necessarily equate to simply being able to do it. You can choose to play a harder difficulty in a game, but that doesn't mean you have to do it or that that's what the designers of the campaign proper intended for you to do.

Running through the start a couple of times is a valid way to play the game. If the designers didnt want that to happen then they would have designed it so that you could only New Game + after you finish a playthrough.

I don't see why they shouldn't have people who aren't buzzed about a game on a quicklook. I enjoyed that one actually.
Exactly. As long as the people doing the Quick Look are fair about the points that they are making, and have proper context for what the game is (and/or what it aims to be), they shouldn't have to be fans of the specific game/series/genre.

They aren't there to directly sell a product, they are there to give their impressions. If their impressions lead you to a purchase/no purchase decision, then so be it.

It's a valid way to play but I beat both games without restarting. Jeff is pretty much implying that it's the only way too beat the game while that is hardly the case.

Oh god, don't tell me I need to buy that game... I HATE the time mechanics but LOVE everything else about it. Curious to hear what Brad thinks of the Sandbox mode, but it seems like it does not carry over PP :/

But you don't HAVE to do it. It seemed like Jeff was basically saying you must restart over and over to finish the game and that's why he doesn't like it and the game is just for crazy people. I never restarted once and completed it. I didn't think it was a bad QL though.

More people talking about this QL, please.

the sprites are so tiny in the QL, even in HD it looks so small.

i have to agree with Ryan that the music is kinda overbearing. it never stops.
