My special analysis of my dudebro friend's acheivments who only buy COD + 1/2 other games every year say differntly.
And mine says the complete oppposite. They have Spec Ops and Zombie achievements and lack everything else.

Considering how many people don't even have their consoles online you need to provide proof to claim something that ridiculous.
And how many people would that be? Not seeing how it's that ridiculous. Even here you have people not giving a single shit about the single player and getting overly defensive when people criticize said single player because "it's not supposed to matter, it's all about the mp".

I'm pretty sure Activision has come out and said the majority of people who play COD games do play the campaign. Not necessarily complete it, but play it.
Maybe I should have said complete it I guess.

christ, I never understand how people who play games for a living can be so fucking awful at them
I am by no means an expert in BF but that was kinda painful to watch
and it is not just BF, their CoD MP quick looks also show some awful gameplay
not trying to disrespect GB here, it's the same with most reviewers, now I don't expect them to be MLG level pro players, just have at least some average understanding of it...

Good thing Brad didn't do the QL..

I'd imagine that it's really difficult to narrate in a clear and concise manner while you play, especially online multiplayer. I know that I have difficulty having a real conversation while playing anything.

It's one game after another for these guys, even on games they genuinely like they don't have that much time to go back to them after the fact. They end up with a very "jack of all trades, master of none" sort of skillset.

That too. These guys are often playing against people who spend weeks playing the current game and likely its previous iterations.

The black and white judging of performance is irritating as well. Be the top performer or else you suck.

Man, going by that QL the campaign is horribad. So is co-op. "The ghost" at the beginning was hilarious. The beginning was hella cool if it was for the constant QTE pop-ups. The could have changed those climbing QTEs into just pressing the left stick to the appropriate direction. I bet the final scene involves a stupid QTE too. :I

Having said that, can't wait to get the game thursday.

The game starts out real slow. The quick look did not do any favors to it. Once Operation Guillotine starts the game goes into awesome mode.

They don't play games for a living, the cover games for a living. They don't show up to work and grind out 6 hours of CoD multiplayer.

“Hey Jeff. You should get in that helicopter”
“OK... What do you think I should do once I get in that helicopter”
"Fuckin’ crash that shit!”

best exchange in that QL.

Hmm a michael bay campaign or a michael bay campaign with broken scripting and awful ai? I'll take the first one every time.

It's not that bad. I mean, it's bad, but it's Call of Duty bad. You get to points in the campaign where you die a few times for something stupid and you're like 'I don't want to play this ever again', and then you reach a level that is more fun and you're kinda okay playing. Which is how MW2 was for me.

Is it just my system screwing up playback or is the framerate shit?

I'm playing it on 360 right now. It's not without its issues, and framerate is occasionally one of them. That part early on where the guy clips through the door didn't happen to me.

But I'm wondering how things like subtitles being displayed twice for a line only spoken once slip through QA.

Probably because as far as game issues go that's incredibly minor.

If it comes down to shipping the game or fixing that bug, I reckon they'll just ship the game.

Fair enough if Jeff didn't like feel enthusiastic about BF3's single player, I'm not looking forward to it much either, but he played it to a point where it almost looked like he was trying to make it look bad. The multiplayer half of the quick look was much better.

Why are they saying the Wii versions aiming was slow, swimmy and laggy because it wasn't M+? It was all IR pointer and was perfectly fine. Me and my room mate at the time played the shit out of it and never had any complaints about the aiming.

Yeah, Patrick trying to grasp at reasons to dog on the Wii version seemed really confusing to me. Motion+ is for detecting how the remote is tilted in 3D space. It has no effect on pointer aiming.

I can't really speak to how much lag there is in a Move versus a Wiimote, though, as I've never used a Move. But the Wiimote's lag in something like Overkill never seemed like an issue from the hour or so I played it at a friend's a couple weeks ago.

I remember Jeff dogging on the original, saying he didn't know it had a grindhouse artstyle in game until he started playing it, hating on the Wiimote reticule setup not working like a lightgun would, (seemingly ignorant of the lightgun/calibration setup that Sega has in their Wii lightgun games), and they just played the first level with the un-upgraded pistol with their highest combo maxing out at a whopping 3 or something.

Really bizarre. The aiming was perfectly fine, great even in Overkill. Once you got the shotgun and started going for headshots and constant Goregasms, the game was utterly fantastic.

And it's not the first time, too. They made similar comments during the Conduilt 2 QL, where they turned on WM+ mid-game and then wondered if the aiming is improved.
