The GiantBomb Quick Look Thread

I don't know if it's the element of Star Wars, but watching this QL I really notice (more than any other MMO) the things that aren't there, probably because it's an MMO. Like how there are virtually no other spacecars on that hightech planet (Coroscant?) other than the one you yourself is travelling in.

I definitely feel like the game is very...empty. That said, I haven't played it, so I'm not an authority.

There's a lot more traffic in the lower level areas considering the game just launched, so you'll see a lot more people scooting around on the taxi services there.

The area they were in for the QL is in the next tier up level-wise so it won't look as full until more players level up.

I think Jeff is being overly harsh on the the space combat. It is super shallow but it's a fun little diversion in my experience. I deeper space combat system would be incredible but, in my opinion, the current mini game isn't nearly as horrible as Jeff makes it out to be.

I hate evil spaceship, looks like another quick look I'll be skipping.

I have no problem with giant bomb getting bigger, just don't bring in annoying idiots like evil spaceship.

That dumb evil space ship keeps going voom voom voom.

Why can't it act like other evil spaceships.

Yeah, i really enjoy it for what it is: more complex and a lot more interactable version of gryphon bombardments from wow. You demolish star destroyers, fight tie fighters in an asteriod field and five minutes later you're done.

The bit where Jeff fucking wastes a pair of Hutts in the TOR Quick Look is amazing. That game has a serious case of the Bioware SCS (Stitled Conversation Stance), though. :/

Really wish it came to 360. Bought this on OG Xbox I think the same day RE4 came out for GC. Never got around to it as I sold my Xbox before the 360 came out.

Looks great and I am totally in agreement with Brad's comments about "making sure I am completely stealthy" when possible in these games, as well as throwing myself into frustrating scenarios due to my compulsive need to meet the challenge. I also would have tried every ammo type for the sheer sake of wondering how well executed they factor into the current challenge. Default ammo might have been capable, but I want to see all angles available.

Glad that he finally tried out the Slug ammo at the end of the QL, I actually was wondering what approach would have been nominal after his endless failures.

Maybe I'm playing it wrong but I don't think it's possible to play it completely stealthily. I think the challenge is in getting as many live bounties as you can. Although I don't think you can go fully non-lethal as you occasionally get the ones in inaccessible positions that you can only kill or cause to fall to their death like Brad did.

Brad's first death of the year is going to be a strong contender for Brad of the Year 2012.
Definitely! He was on the brink once or twice beforehand, but the first death of 2012 was glorious.

Rerelease seems okay. Unlike Brad, I couldn't stand the same voice that was used the whole time, although I like the Stranger's voice. The best visual upgrade with this remake is that it doesn't have the worst visual tearing known to mankind unlike the first game!

Glad to see them put up a quick look for Stranger's Wrath. For that boss I ended up accidentally knocking him into the spinning blades using the Thud Slug so I couldn't live capture him.

I also died the exact same was as Brad with that trap door above the blades.

I mostly just want the freedom fighters last save. I remember really liking that game. I want to see how much of it was actually cool, and how much of it was me not having terribly great taste back then.

It's not even out on steam yet right? Like he had to go somewhere else to get it.

Yeah he had to get it from Gamersgate. The way it happened was that he mentioned that it was out and everyone on Twitter told him he should buy it. No one wants to actually pay money to see this shit. ;)

Ryan paid $40 for our entertainment, haha
