I didn't say your experience was not truth, only that it comprised a part of the larger truth. Similarly, that group at reddit is a bunch of guys who realized they had a problem and made a decision to drop it. A mild or moderate user would have little reason to emphasize or join the group experiment.Truth-apologist, eh?
As the video stated, /r/NoFap is the control group at this point. Go over there and read the personal experiences of everybody who has gone off porn for an extended period of time.
These are not blanket assertions and are not just based on my personal experience, don't be so goddamn daft.
Tell me how you are closer to the truth here?
At this point, for people who are undergoing this experiment, the data points towards a certain outcome. The studies will come in time, for now we are doing this ourselves and reporting our own data.
if you can't masturbate to imagination, using a soft grip and finish in under 10 minutes you probably have a problem.
I wouldn't recommend going more than 14 days without sex or masturbation. I once went 2.5 months without either, and while my mind and body felt great, my penis was not appreciative when I broke the dry spell.

Everything in the video and that you are saying is in reference to those who fit the model of addiction. Assuming that such is true of everyone or that it is porn altogether and not a specific type and use of it is what I mean by making blanket assertions. Even the guy in the video remarked how internet porn (however he is defining it, seems to be video aggregate sites) has different results from something like Playboy.
The reason is because of the very patterns he describes and the nature of the porn itself. Quick access to wide variety and novelty and persistence through it is what seems to lead to these things. This speaks nothing to those who only occasionally use it, don't enjoy anything too wild, only watch one video in a session, prefer softcore like gravure idols or something, etc.
It's a big world out there. There is a large spectrum of people and a large spectrum of pron and a large spectrum of how people use it. Don't be so small-minded on such a wide ranging topic about human nature and practice.
This is true, I'm basing my assertions on regular pornography use. I do not doubt however, anybody who masturbates would benefit from cutting back to greater and lesser degrees.
Benefit how?
I have before, no changes. Am I then compelled to go on reddit and yell at everyone "YOU'RE WRONG! THIS IS BULLSHIT"? No, and I could easily imagine that being the case for many other people. That group simply does not equate to properly extensive research in any way.Once you read a lot of the purported benefits of these people who have completely cut out masturbation, you may decide for yourself that you would benefit from completely cutting out pornography and masturbation from your life, even if you are a mild or moderate user.
Well then it's pretty silly to be saying "Internet porn addiction is an addiction!"Yes, if you want clarification this is more specifically referring to people who regularly use internet porn. It has become the standard that most younger males masturbate to porn at least once daily. These people fit the model of addiction.
For people who quit for the recommended period of 90 days the results are pretty much unanimous. People are reporting increased confidence, elevated mood, increased drive, reduction or elimination of social anxiety and depression, and increased desire for real connection to women. A vast majority of these people report the decision to stop masturbating to porn as "life changing". Many decide they will never use it again.
Let me rephrase.
What are the benefits if you're not an awkward teenager?

If only you would get lost in infodumps on the scientific method and how to discern the extent to which something is credible.again - www.yourbrainonporn.com
go get lost in information. read the articles, watch the videos, and read the real user 90 day logs.
Cool story bro. I've done it, well half of what is suggested, and I greatly feel the benefits. If only you would get lost in infodumps on the scientific method and how to discern the extent to which something is credible.
Well, yeah, but I'm not suggesting the contrary.
I mean, it seems to me that women who enjoy porn are more fun than women who don't. And I don't just mean in bed, but in general.
The vid only focuses on negative effects on males; I'd like to hear about the effects on women.
Let me rephrase.
What are the benefits if you're not an awkward teenager?
You seem... tense. Are you looking for fucking e-cred? Badass motherfucker.
Depending on my mood porn can be quite educational, especially when it comes to blowjobs, not so mainstream positions and a bit of bondage. I honestly don't consume that much porn though since I have a specific niche.

Read the logs and forums. Results are generally the same across the board.Oh come on.
I could vaguely see where you were coming from until that line. Quit talking out of your ass.
Quit talking out of your dick
Let me get this straight: you're telling me that ceasing to masturbate can ELIMINATE depression?Read the logs and forums. Results are generally the same across the board.
Reduction in social anxiety could be placebo but a placebo that works is just as good. Also it is obvious how this could help in the desire to and the ability to talk to and approach females.
Let me get this straight: you're telling me that ceasing to masturbate can ELIMINATE depression?
Okay, I'll quit masturbating and stop my anti depressants tomorrow and let you know how it goes <3
derp.

Relax, buddy. Go do some research before discrediting it all. Massive amounts of masturbating to pornography has deep effects on your brain past just simple stimulation.Let me get this straight: you're telling me that ceasing to masturbate can ELIMINATE depression?

It's probably "classy" or "sensual" since that's so hard to find these days.Hmm, I wonder what it could be... Hmmmmmmm.

Average san fernando valley production concept:
-$500 superwide lens camcorder
-Girl and guy who think "fuck piston" is a good description of any sex act
-Cameraman who thinks 6 inches away from penetration is the best view
-Make best effort to be disgusting and emotionless
Yeah, classy like the British Broadcasting Corporation.
Sorry, Dev.
I have a girlfriend so this topic doesn't apply to me anyways. But I would bet the entirety of my money and possessions that non-circumstantial depression can't be cured by swearing off porn.Relax, buddy. Go do some research before discrediting it all. Its obviously not simply black and white, nothing is. It might have marginal effects on your depression or it might not do anything at all. I will guarantee that at the least, in the long run, it will help you approach women. (If you have that problem).
Tell me more about what does and doesn't work for me, please. You should stop using your anti depressants anyway because they do not work. It's a scam.
Oh come on.

I think it's phrased wrong: anti-depressants are a scam because they only supress the effects of a depression to a certain degree while not actually making things better. Without therapy or changes in life they are just a drug.I have a girlfriend so this topic doesn't apply to me anyways. But I would bet the entirety of my money and possessions that non-circumstantial depression can't be cured by swearing off porn.
Maybe getting away from porn and doing other things with your time (like interacting with real women) can alleviate mild depression. But correlation =/= causation.
Tell me more about what does and doesn't work for me, please.
What do you mean, I picked up smoking again?? Oh shhhh............... >_<I've tried this and generally felt better about relationships and pursuing women. The kicker is the moment you lose will and go back to masturbating, you feel 10x worse because you're now conscious of the physical and mental side effects.
All of that aside too much of anything can be bad for you.
This reads like an advertisement/testimonial and that may be part of why your message is being doubted. For people who quit for the recommended period of 90 days the results are pretty much unanimous. Feh, just get female porn consumption to 100% as well. Balance it all out.
The consensus is that until you've gone through a full reboot period just thinking about porn is almost as bad as watching it. I'm not sure if erotic novels are porn....probably use the junk food standard - if you have to ask it probably is.Is there any information on using erotic fiction instead of video stuff.
Eastern European porn tends to be that way. I've seen some interracial stuff out of Hegre Art though. which is a pretty good outfit, and in line with the others you listed.I wish like hell I could find classy interracial, if there is one complaint I have about the aforementioned porn it's so fucking white.

Jesus...you should definitely take a break.
Reading this thread I felt guilty about looking at porn once every ~2 weeks even though I have a girlfriend. Am I a bad person?
Most porn these days sucks anyways. It's formulaic, purely visceral and devoid of any personality. I can only enjoy amateur stuff, where the people seem like they actually, you know, love each other. Or softcore.
Funny story, when I lived with my ex girlfriend, I came home from a job interview and found her pants off with a vibrator in her hand. The computer was in the main room of the apartment so she had no time to pull her pants on after I unlocked the door and came in. I didnt say anything and took her to the bedroom. Best sex I have ever had.
I have a girlfriend and fap every single day, so you're good, I'm not.
I'm a porn addict and now some types of porn do no satisfy me. I'm not looking at crazy shit online though but I mean stuff like interracial, voyeur, natural boobs, among other things. I really need to lay off...ass-licking
Nothing really crazy in the stuff you listed. Or that's the stuff that doesn't do it anymore?
I once saw my now ex-girlfriend's online history and I saw that she was looking at porn. I got the biggest boner I've ever had. It felt like my dick was about to burst with just knowing that my now ex was looking at porn. WTF?
