I feel bad because roughly four thousand posts ago - aka last night - I said I'd update gamertags in the morning. Guess what? Not happening!

The game is fun though, I never played Halo 2 Multiplayer so this is all new to me.

I really miss the simplicity and organized setup of Gears of War though, Halo 3 really feels like a big mosh pit compared to it.

1) what the **** is going on right now? Ppl just can't d/l it yet? Or is there something else?
2) if I go buy crackdown can I still get in? What about a used copy?

Nope. There is this Pokemon thread which is larger than 10k posts.
 
The downloader in crackdown is broken and they are trying to fix it, or something. And yeah any copy of crackdown should work as it just acts as a door of sorts (unless its a rental version I guess?)

1)right cant d/l from the crackdown screen... its just grayed out.

And just think, the beta hasn't even come out yet for most people. This is gonna be the biggest thread on GAF for sure.

2,000+ more posts of bitching/complaining/crying that it's not up
2,000 posts of "it's up!!" and "xx% downloaded"

then 3 weeks worth of gameplay impressions, graphics comparisons, etc

1)Crackdown users can't download it
2) Theoretically, yes. If the problem is larger than we anticipate, and they end up just giving away codes to crackdown users, you might not need to purchase it, only rent.

1) no download yet for crackdown users, ms fd up in the menu or something.
2) yes, look for the specially marked box with the sticker.

basically, the one sure-fire/guaranteed way to get into the beta (pay $60 for Crackdown) isn't working.

Friends and Family have been enjoying the game since Friday.

If the problem resides with Crackdown code, I fully expect the beta to be out sometime next week.

The first listing post ran up against the GAF space limit - I can't save any more in that post, it just cuts them off. So there's a second post with them, linked from both the OP and the end of the first list. If someone in the first page could quote my gamertag post and move it to their post, I'd move the one on page 2 up so they're both on the first page.

That made no sense.

1) Judging from the overall pleasant tone of the replies here... have no fear. The beta release went off without a hitch.

2) The sticker will show you the way.

3) ???

everytime I check in and have a read this thing has a new life.

but points I have to pick out so far

It is a big deal to the people who arranged to play this today

MS/Bungie why not just post regular updates and lift the dark curtain, a small post of progress each hour would have been fine to chill some guys out.

People who are already in the beta, NO! don't comment on it not being a big deal.

& wow people are really passionate about Halo the backlash proves the fans loyalty

oh and ps :lol at uber fans bungie net forum post quotes.

in UK and its night now, gona hit sack soon might check later & be knackered for work tomoz

I have faith in Bungee even if its blind at the moment that there doing all they can.

2) bs. There is no way of tracking who has a copy, rented or bought. There are no serials.

1.) The Beta is 8 hours late with very little explanation as to why.
2.) You have as much chance as we do -- which is still sort of a question mark. So long as the case has the sticker, it should work as well or poorly as all the other DVDs.
