Halo doesn't need sticky?Oblivion said:Wow this thread is friggin huge. Why isn't it stickied?
The mods were too busy altering the title of the week-long sticky thread about the Sony Gamer's Day ("tons and TONS of games!!!!"; "no news until 5/17", "holy ****ing crap!!!") that they didn't have time. Cut them some slack. And now they're all tired and stuff.Oblivion said:Wow this thread is friggin huge. Why isn't it stickied?

And got shot down by everyone else pointing out how they actually, are.thekad said:Except the argument didn't go like that. I brought up valid reasons why the combos aren't cheap/cheating. You, Ramirez, and JDfox decided to just close your eyes and pretend I didn't.
I'm done anyway, though I don't see what having a life has to do with "playing by the rules".

Sean said:So is it just me or are plasma grenades pretty much obsolete now?
Spike grenades do everything that plasma ones do but they're more powerful (sticking the VIP with a plasma grenade won't kill him but one spike grenade will) and they're more useful since they stick to walls/surfaces.
Is there any reason to use plasma grenades over the spike nades?
We need that gif of the dude who threw the grenade into the man cannon. That's why plasmas are still useful.Sean said:So is it just me or are plasma grenades pretty much obsolete now?

Rlan said:Two things I've noticed:
1) NOBODY uses the Plasma Pistol. At All. They're really useless in any sort of combat arena. They apparently can disengage a vehicle for a short amount of time, but who is going to carry around a pissy weapon for secondary fire?
2) NOBODY uses the SMGs. This is morely due to [IMO] the fact that they're nearly useless in Halo 2. They are better though, they don't make you lose aim nearly as much as they did in two, but aren't nearly as good looking at their brute Brute Spiker equivelant.

I've never heard that one before, but okay.Vrolokus said:I know some people don't like Crackdown at all, and it still blows my mind. I think it's one of the best games I've ever played. :\ It's funny how that game splits people right down the middle, they either love it or hate it (Dead Rising too).

BadAss84 said:One Q, is there normally a regular 2 flag CTF gametype in halp mp? 1 flag is a cool mode but i want some proper ctf ^^
Also, any tips on grenade use? I'm still pretty bad at using them, i tend to just miss and get killed when i try to throw one.
goldenpp72 said:that's like saying world 1 of mario 3 is good enough, ya don't need the full game.
People these days..

So does anyone have any thoughts on this:

goldenpp72 said:Yes halo has many variations of ctf, classic ctf with 2 flags (with requirement of having your flag in the base too) is a usual halo mode.
op_ivy said:halo has multiple ctf games. there is classic 2 flags with different rule sets (touch flag to return or have a set time when a "dead" flag returns, flag at home to score or not) as well as single flag ctf thats in the beta.
tips for nades... try to anticipate where a player is going, and throw in front of them. if you have the jump on someone that doesnt know your there, throw a nade before shooting to soften em up for an easier kill. if your about to die, throw a nade at your feet (if death from close combat) or again, where the enemy appears to be heading for a kill from beyond the grave (or at least to soften em up for a teammates easy kill). nades are also useful to assist in a retreat. toss one down while you run away. must decent players wont charge into a grenade to try and kill you. also, use them to keep players out of areas (capture points, the flag, the hill, etc)
also, each nade has its own best uses. learn those too. spikes are great for sticking players, or tossing into the ceiling or wall if you know a player is coming around a corner. plasmas are good for holding opponents at bay, and frags are best for softening opponents, or bouncing off walls to kill around corners
goldenpp72 said:The enemies get armed with new weapons, the scenerios in which you fight bosses become more interesting and diverse, the different cities are awesome, the achievement hunting is incredibly well done, and of course, the more you level up the more you can do, it's called common sense. The game isn't insanely long or best game ever material but it's quite good all the way through, I would have bought it without the halo beta.
Crypto said:Besides the basics of the gameplay in Crackdown, one of the parts you don't get in the demo is the full exploration. Exploration is always one of the biggest factor for me to play ANY game.
There are some cool weapons later on too, but I agree the demo gives you a lot of the basics.
