The Halo 3 Beta Thread

Was fun tonight, sorry things were super laggy with 16. We'll have to divide up into small 4v4 teams when the game ships or something, maybe do a tournament or something.

I'm just listening to the music and watching the flyby on Valhalla, after watching one of the most entertaining Saved Films I had. I should have listened to "Glory Days" while doing so.

It's still letting me play... started the next game at 2 minutes after the supposed endpoint/deadline and it appears to be matching me up. Guess you have to log out? Or perhaps they are just a bit behind in taking it down or something.

edit: nevermind, appears to keep going in an endless loop... matching everyone up and then restarting over and over again. Guess it really is over. *cries*

It was a hell of a ride, and now that it's gone, all I can think about is just how long the wait until September is gonna be. I'm sure I'll survive. Somehow.

Had some great GAF games tonight; even a few with Frankie & Luke. Can't wait to pick it up again this fall. :)
 
I just exited the Beta, then went back in. The Saved Films option is gone, and the Play Beta leads to the expiration notice, complete with Shadowrun plug.

Fare thee well, Halo 3. Until we meet in September.

So the shadowrun plug was true? It's kinda funny, Crackdown gets a bump with the Halo 3 Beta, and now Shadowrun gets a boost as well.

Crackdown players = Shadowrun players? Who knows. I'm having fun with the demo though.
 
Well its over :( I had fun.met some cool people and kicked major ass. Btw tonights were a blast! Well I hope we can set up some GAF games in Halo2 or maybe even Shadowrun. September is so far away...
 
I can still start saved films even though matchmaking doesn't work.

edit: just joined someone's custom game, that is still working since it's not using their servers. let's keep this going until september 25th! no one log out! :lol

I really enjoyed the beta. I got to meet a lot of people I would have never otherwise gamed with. I have no idea what I'm going to play now. I'm looking at Call of Juarez, but my heart just isn't in it.
 
I really regret not playing it as often as I would have liked, but at least I ended it with a fun game of 1 Flag CTF on High Ground.

Good games everyone. It was cool to play a few games with Frankie and Luke on the last day of the beta. A big Thanks for the Beta goes out to them and the rest of the Bungie crew, as it was the best month of gaming of my life. Can't wait until Sept 25th! :D

Well, it's over. I wrapped up the night by watching the five Halo 3 videos on my 360 - the announcement trailer, Starry Night ad and three vidocs - in order. Then deleted the Beta. That was hard. :lol

Halo 3 is superior to its predecessor in every way. And Bungie only gave us the smallest of tastes - a small feature set, and limited version of the features we did get. This game is going to be one of those generation-defining titles when it lands in September.

Although I did get caught up in Forza a lot in the beta's final days, I loved the ass out of this beta and can't wait to really dig in to the final game. Even now when I see people playing Forza I wish I could hit Y and pull up my Friends List and see who they're playing with on line.

In just this Beta, Bungie has raised the bar of the Live experience. Spectacular work.
