The Halo 3 Beta Thread

I have to say this is the most fun in an online game Ive ever had PC/Xbox/360/Anything. The final game will be that much more better, I just hope it sells soo well that the haters will hate it even more for its success that it deserves.

I was at 149 RP at 11:49PM. I joined a game finally and I wanted to win so I could get my last rank. Two of our team quit, then the other team lost two. So it ended up a 2vs2 match for the last 10 minutes. We were down like 5-10 throughout the match until 5 minutes till the end when we kept tying and taking the lead. Finally we had a 2+ score lead at the end and won. I got my rank like I wanted at the very last possible time.

I then went and played some custom games for an hour or so. But I decided I needed to let it go, next job is to delete it.
 
I hope Bungie pulls the plug on Customs soon, my Finals start on Thursday, I can't use even more distractions :lol

edit; I see ButtonBasher's custom but I can't join, it just boots to the Shadowrun plug.

I am willing to leave my 360 turned on (I have 2). So can anybody invite me to a custom game and then make me party leader. Does that make me the host?

I just quit to dashboard. What a sad thing. I kept watching the title screen, as Unforgotten played. I then calmly hit the A button.

I got 100 kills on my final game.

Now off to bed. I wake up in 20 Minutes!

I had a blast, I hope to show my appreciation by being $70-$130 dollars poorer come September 25th.

I did it.

I played hours of matchmaking today, played a 14-player FFA on Valhalla (realizing that matchmaking no longer worked...and a bunch of Recent Players kept joining the game :lol), then ended with a couple matches of Zombies even (complete with Dawn of the Dead/28 Days Later roleplaying). I then proceeded to watch a bunch of my saved films for about an hour.

Then I shut my 360 off.


Eagerly awaiting the arrival of my copy of Forza 2 (not Shadowrun).

Er, sorry about that driving. I think me, you, and Luke should have a bad driving competition on the big big map in the final game come Sept. I'll be worse than both of you, GUARANTEED.

Frankie, Luke, thanks for playing with us (and kicking our ever-lovin' asses). And thanks for letting us score one flag point on High Ground. :lol Still not sure how that worked out. And thank you Bungie for this wonderful beta experience, and curse you Bungie for ruining Halo 2 multiplayer for me. It's just not as fun now.

Ghal, you are a man after my own heart, btw. On that last round you played with us on Snowbound, you tagged me from 3 times from beyond the grave. All three by the shield door in the high base that leads to the shotgun. The first time I heard a frag drop, but I wasn't sure which side of the door it landed on. I backed up and BOOM! Next two times (at the same door, no less), you stuck me point blank with spike grenades. I'd kill you with the shotgun, then hear that sickeningly wet THUNK as I was impaled by your explosive device. I was all "hehhehohshit" every time. I tried to kill you from farther away after that.

But now it's over. 15 weeks and a day to go...
 
I loved the beta. Until I saw what happened to my Rep: it went up by a star and a half. I've been sitting at slightly less than 3.5 stars for almost a year, and then some smartasses from the beta had to go and give me positive feedback, and now I'm almost up to five. Way to go, jerks. Whoever you are...
 
To all of you lucky beta players, how was the Banshee?

Though there was some good ideas on paper, I really hated the way the Banshee handled in Halo 2.

Nah, just kidding. Had a great time with the game even though the XBL population is a big bunch of retards, but you can't blame Bungie for that.

Completely different now, the main weapon is not as powerful, you can't just dive down like before, you actually have to do runs each time you want to attack, and now you have a fuel rod cannon at your control, which does massive damage.
 
Well, it's over. I'm not really sure what to do, partly since I haven't bought any new games since Febuary, and partly since I'm too upset to pick up the sports page or turn on ESPN. It's way to long until September.

But, I had a lot of fun. Snowbound still has great respawns and is still a great map, regardless of what retarded foxes may say. Thanks for playing with us Luke and Frankie, that was a lot of fun, even if you were complete bullies during that first CTF game.

So, I will use my over-competetive nature to put all of my energy into posting the Weekly Update before Ghaleon and assorted people who will never update the OP.

It was a lot of fun everyone, and I can't wait until September.

Here's what i found out about online communities.

If you give a voice to everyone, the majority will seem retarded, obviously speaking behind a mircophone and not having to deal with physical presence helps that alot. Any community is like this.

Then if you pay attention, most of the retards are U.S players, now i don't mean to be a jackass, but it is true! But that's only because americans are the majority of the players, and generally, the stupid ones have this ability to never shut up, so they make themselfs heard while the good ones normally don't.

That's why i only play with friends.

Heh, I thought that was you I kept doing that to. It wasn't intentional, honest. (Okay, it was.) The last two times I could hear explicative start up right before you died, which made it all the sweeter. *shunk* "You gotta be f...." *BOOM* :lol

I had one particularly great kill in that game. Someone charged me through a main shield door as I was holed up inside a base. I stood about 15 feet from the door and just waited....then tossed the Energy Drainer down just as he came through. One second he's healthy and walking through the door, confident in victory. The next he's standing in the middle of an exectical storm, shieldless and saying, "uh-oh!". Uh-oh indeed. I love that piece of equipment.

In fact, I think those moments when you are about to utterly own someone, and they know they're about to be owned, are the ones I'll keep with me until September. Another such was on Valhalla, defending the base from an Assault. I was patrolling the base with my beloved Missile Pod when someone shouts, "Warthog inbound!" I trot up the back ramp just in time to see a 'Hog pull up not 10 feet from me. I had a broadside on it, and the driver, just as it slid to a halt, saw me and (to my utter delight) shouted, "Oh, CRAP! " Something about the shrieks of the utterly doomed just make me giggle. Needless to say, Double Kill.

I'm going to miss this game.
