The Halo 3 Beta Thread

Just got done downloading, took a little over 30 minutes. Pretty fast, but from what I understand not a lot of people got the downloading it yet. Got a code through a contest on a dutch xbox360 website.

Still, pretty ****ed up for those who bought Crackdown and wanted to play H3. Even more if they took their day off from work.
 
it is a real shame that at such this problem has been allowed to hang up teh much praised Beta.

I know we all want to get in & are excited about playing halo but lets hope things get done right.

Sometimes by throwing as many hands into the pot to work on this doesn't make it go and faster, having 9 women wont give you a baby in one month...

but what I personally would like to see here from MS, bungie and the crew is some transparency about whats going on, what the probelm is, whats being done to fix it and estimated timelines (also a 1day extension of the beta would be a nice gesture, sure it will happen)
 
Sucks that there was a problem, hopefully it gets sorted out today for you guys, I know how dissapointed I'd be if I wasn't already in. :(

Yeah, I thought so too. On a completely unrelated note, why is Aegis Wing taking so long to download? Grrr.

no, it was for the DLC issues, deleting people's saves and whatnot

uh...ITS A BETA FOLKS. This is not a commercial release.

This is what Beta's are for, except people tend to forget cause they just want to play and end up sounding like 2 year old's who got their binky taken away

I thought the same thing, especially since I played it the night before I thought, this must make the box not grey or whatever

Everyone who is waiting for the Halo 3 beta is downloading it at the exact same time.

I've been following the thread since it started, and I had yet to see the small update, i did see the other blog update though

content may be a beta but way its being provided sure as hell shouldn't be.

Well it costs the same as a full priced game so I expect to work.
 
Gosh, the uproar over a BETA being late by few hours. Imagine the arsony when the game gets delayed for some reason on the day of.

yea I saw that right when it was posted. I'm talking about where the countdown timer used to be. It used to say THE HALO 3 BETA HAS STARTED!
 
haha microsoft shut down 1-800-4-myxbox supposedly because of all the people calling in that can't download the beta
 
And everyone who already has the beta, please stfu. It's easy not to be upset about this when you've been playing all week on a free invite. People have called off from work, skipped school and invited friends over to play and the bottom lined is they all got ****ed by Bungie.

Thanks for filling me in. On the bright side I didn't miss any Halo action while I was in class, so I hope things work out soon. Guess I'm back playing the Forza demo then.

Ageed, except for the Bungie part. We don't know who is at fault yet.

That change still took place a couple hours ago though I think was his point.

I just had to call several people that were coming over and cancel, and I could've saved myself 10 hours of PTO at this point. Now I'm officially pissed.

To be fair though it is more than likely NOT Bungie's fault though, no point in getting pissed at them really (at least until we hear differently).
