Not sure if someone posted this already or not but:

We're aware that some users are having difficulty downloading the Halo 3 multiplayer beta via Crackdown. Bungie Studios is working with the Xbox Live team to resolve this as quickly as possible - stay tuned. Gamers entering the beta through other means, such as the Friends and Family remain unaffected.

I am headed back to Seattle in a few hours, so I’ll be offline while I am in the air. For the most up to date information, keep an eye on Bungie.net for the latest from Frankie regarding this issue.

This site is experiencing an excessive traffic amount of traffic at this time, so sorry for the temporary nature of this message. We’re working on getting back online as soon as we can.

We are asking all users to remain patient as more information becomes available and to bare with us as Bungie.net receives excess traffic as well. Moderators are working as fast as possible restore the forums to an appropriate level and back on topic.

Yeah, and you had to come on Neogaf and know who Stinkles is just to see that. On Bungie.net they still just have a condensening "Crackdown Delay:We Know!" and "reassurance" that those who got the beta for free wont be affected.

They could muck it up as bad as they want... They know people will still buy Halo 3. Thus why they don't seem to be in any hurry to fix the issue. Someone dropped the ball BIG TIME...

So does the XBOX Live Team have a job opening now?

I've got a real job at a real company, with real responsibilities that come before combing through a Halo 3 beta thread on what has or hasn't been posted.

Six X360s I can get at, one of us made Rule of Three but never got mailed the code, the rest of us are stuck with a copy of Crackdown in one hand and out flaccid cocks in the other. :lol Not gonna buy a PS3 over this, not least because I already have one, but the bad PR feel is approaching epic levels around here.
 
I do agree there is a record-breaking amount of whining in this thread.

But, Microsoft and Bungie have built this beta up as the best thing coming until Halo 3 is released. So I can understand why people are pissed. I think people would be less upset if there was some kind of communication from MS or Bungie as to what exactly the problem is. I work on a corporate web site myself and yes, things go wrong with networks and permissions everyday, but by telling your clients exactly what is wrong, you eleviate alot of upset people.

yeah but how could you think it hasnt been posted already... look at the hour the news was posted.
 
It sucks for those that took the day off, and it sort of sucks anyways, but these kind of things happen, and I'm sure it's being worked on as we speak.

Personally, I just picked up my comics/got a new (to me) issue of GI/downloaded Crackdown DLC/still need to beat Spiderman 3 the game/and watch a new episode of Lost tonight, so I'm fine until the beta gets up and running.

Might as well download Aegis Wing too...
 
Had some fun games with Birdie and GhaleonEB. Double snipe on two fools after their bubble shield wore off was the highlight of my day so far.

But this is still a major debacle on MS's part.

As for Aegis, I dislike how slow the shooting is...I mean, I wanna kick some ass not "pew-pew" my way to awesometown. Back to Halo 3 Beta I guess.

It's been seven and half hours since it was supposed to launch. Are we going to start taking bets. I say by 10 pm tonight they will have it up
