The Halo 3 Beta Thread

I'm not really mad. It's lame that they can't either a) get their shit together or b) at least let us know what's going on in a reasonable timeframe, but I think about half the angst in this thread is bored people hitting F5 waiting for news and the frustration that comes of that.

The fact that an entire workday has passed with God knows how many people concentrating on this (probably 1, and he's likely dyslexic) and it still isn't resolved is not encouraging.

The bad thing is, while I expected it would be a godawful slow download, I didn't expect the whole day to go by without even being able to start it!

Jesus do they even test this stuff before it goes live? All signs point to "no"

That's a scary thought. But here's a scarier one - think of how long it took them to fix the Halo 2 map snaffoo....

Make a F&F code that can be used an unlimited number of times in a 48-hour period. Let the angry mob in to play while they work it out.

I don't understand how this can be so hard?

Rules of 3rd/F&F can download fine... why not just take that "link" and hyperlink it to the "download Halo 3 beta" in Crackdown?

how could it not be fixable? it's a damn download link it's not like programming in pascal or some shit, it's probably a link that sends the DVD's code to XBL to open the download prompt just like the downloadable content button

Well it has to work with the code created by Realtime Worlds, so perhaps they can't resolve it without their prompt involvement.

This isn't pretend land, buddy! I wouldn't be pissed because they didn't get it out in time, it's the lack of info. If it were gonna take the entire day, they should man up and say "**** it, come back tomorrow, suckas!"

They got our money and made sure the people who could hurt them the most (media and most vocal online fans) were already playing through F&F. They don't give a flying ****.
 
Just release the thing on Marketplace for the impatient and fix the Crackdown thing by tomorrow. Sorted. Can make a quick buck out of it too.

I'd expect as much from bungie.net or xbox.com or gamefaqs, but come on guys.
