So my download stopped twice. When I restarted it went up to 20 percent in 1 minute. Then it froze, so I canceled the download and restarted my system. I go to download again and it jumps up to 25 percent in 1 sec now it won't move. WTF is going on.

Is anybody else dashbaord pull-over (for inviting friends and such) crazy slow in the beta?

I'm hoping it's just Xbox Live servers getting crushed all at once. Ever since I updated my guide has frozen 3 times and every time I go to text someone it takes an ungodly amount of time to work. I'm almost glad you're experiencing the same thing.

your 'connection speed' shouldn't matter on how fast you're going to be downloading the beta. What should impact it, is your geographical location, people on the west coast, closer to microsoft's servers are going to be getting a better download speed due to latency.

I thought Microsoft had various remote caches that were spread across the world. In other words, I don't think everyone downloads from the same location.

I got "stuck" at 26% but if I quit and resume the download discover more has actually come down but the percentage isn't being updated in the menu in real time.

I've seen this happen before with big downloads on Live, on my system at least.

the xbl download percent counter is sometimes really inaccurate
