The Halo 3 Beta Thread

And that concludes the Beta for me. It's been amazingly fun, this night was especially awesome. I racked up a total of 231 games with 2261 total kills and 2563 total deaths. I've had a shitload of fun in those 231 games and it will forever be remembered as the events that changed me from being Halo agnostic to someone who reads the weekly updates. I met a whole bunch of awesome players and I hope I'll meet those guys again on either Halo 2 or Shadowrun this summer or Halo 3 after that. Thanks for the good times dudes! *sniff* Bye Beta!

so the beta has ended? 
That's my beta officially over then, had a mental night with what can only be described as an incredible set of players. No one was being racist, the younger people were well mannered, the banter was humorous and non-offensive, and overall, we all had some pretty mad skills. Thanks to Nino's awesome Custom hosting, we had some good times, hope to see more of everyone in the summer.
Well...I'm still playing, but after three and a half weeks of the Beta, there are some things that I have realized.
Two game-breaking problems:
The near in-destructibility of the warthog. I love this vehicle and have used it to rack up hundreds of kills. It's too powerful. This is coming from somebody who's not only used it, but also somebody who has been killed by it. I would say it needs to be more powerful than Halo 2, but not near as powerful as it is right now.
The spawns are another problem. The one thing I heard complained about the most in Halo 2 was how the spawns were random in placement with the weapons. I'm getting tired of having entire teams spawn behind me or get spawned staring at two or three enemies. In competitive play, the spawns will easily decides who wins and who loses. That's not fair to either team.
With my complaining asside, I absolutely love everything else about the game. The sounds are nothing short of amazing. The graphics look great, especially considering they're still work in progress.
The gameplay is the same with touch ups here and there that really add to it and bring a whole new level. I even like most of the changes made to the gametypes. Bungie's really done an excellent job with the multiplayer at this stage. I can't wait to see what the final game is like.

I hear him take the cannon right after me - he's peppering my back so I know he's going to bring me down. About 3/4 of the way down, I toss the mine near my landing zone, back away and shoot it. I'm not far enough away so I die, but Voc has a very explosive landing.
Moment two: Similar - launching off the cannon towards the center. I spot a pack of three guys near the rocks around the landing zone and throw the mine towards them. Get a triple kill before I even hit the ground. :lol

Well, I'm going to miss playing the game but I won't miss the network issues that hopefully won't be in the final. Sorry Dopey, Ironclad, Cerrius, Sembe, and Nutter for getting stuck in Matchmaking constantly.

Edit: One of my favorite moments was on High Ground when Shogmaster was outside the front of the gate and on defense and we were heading out with the flag and he jumped to fire the RL at me and I dropped the shield at the exact moment to repel his rocket. Then Vocif took off with the flag.
