Just ordered it from B&N for cheap. See here. $31.83 shipped (tax included on that total). Still $51 at Amazon.

Picking up an oppo from my country (sweden) will start at 950$, if I import from the us it will most likely get stuck in customs and I'd hate to deal with everything should it ever break down. I'll probably just pick up some cheap player from amazon and have two instead.

My girlfriend bought us a copy of OSS 117 Rio ne répond plus on blu-ray when she was in Cannes and it's really really really funny. It's like Black Dynamite for spy movies. But I found out it's the sequel. I would never have known because it's like 1000x better than Austin Powers. Anyway I need the first movie now.

I want to pick this up but I wish they had just done a "regular" complete edition without all that extra junk.

The Goonies UCE Blu-ray Announced
We've been telling you - and not just recently but for a while now! - that Image Entertainment is working on a high-def Blu-ray Disc release of Rod Serling's original 1959 series, The Twilight Zone - Season 1. It's been more than just a rumor for a while now, since Amazon.com has been accepting pre-orders for the title since April. But now Image has officially announced the details!
The Twilight Zone - Season 1 will arrive on Blu-ray this coming September 14th, a 5-disc set that - as previously reported - will cost $99.98 SRP. You can pre-order it at a nice discount from Amazon, however. Video is remastered in high definition, but retains the original 1.33:1 aspect ratio as originally broadcast. Similarly, the audio retains the original English mono format as it was first aired, but it will be an uncompressed PCM track for the very best possible sound quality. There will also be English subtitles, too.
Information about any extras has not been listed by Image at this time (although we're sure it will have, at minimum, the same special features included in Image's 2004 DVD release...and probably some new supplements beyond that!). Stay tuned for updates. For now, though, here's a nice big look at the packaging:
I didn't pick it up, but looking at this review it seems that For a Few Dollars More is genuinely good looking. On the other hand, The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly is the same as the previously-released standalone, which isn't, and A Fistful of Dollars is about the same. There are better looking import versions of the two sub-par discs, MGM not using those transfers is disappointing.viewtifulsub said:Has anyone picked up the Dollars trilogy release yet?
Impressions (transfer wise)?

Raist said:Ok, so I just noticed that LOTR was released in April. I had no idea. WTF GAF?
Anyone watched it? How's the quality? Bonuses? Is it the theatrical version, or extended?
I NEEDZ ANSWERS.
DanielPlainview said:just theatricalfucking rip-off.
Raist said:wat.
Are they planning an EE release later or something?
DanielPlainview said:Yeah, I think later this year.
PRODUCT ALERT:
"The Lord of the Rings (Extended Editions)" is scheduled to be released on Blu-ray in 2011 or 2012.
Dead said:They want the EEs to coincide with The Hobbit (lol)
Raist said:Oh. Might as well buy the TE then, I don't feel like waiting till 2015.

Yeah, I'm also holding out for a better release.Raist said:The. fuck. is. that. shit.
Did they decide to completely ruin the BD release?
Blah, I'll just pass and hope that the EE improves a lot of things (if it's ever released that is).
ChryZ said:Yeah, I'm also holding out for a better release.
No shit, this excuse gets used way too often. I don't care about visual quality near as much as say, those on the avs forums, but DNR use on a huge title like The Fellowship of the Ring is pretty much inexcusable and a perfectly good reason to avoid a release, especially since we know there's another, better release, hopefully with a better transfer coming in the future.Hex said:The hate for LotR on blu is really rather blind.
While the set is not stellar, all three transfers are better than any of the dvd releases and with the Hobbit in limbo the EE might be a bit off.
