I hate the way Disney release their archive films. Why the hell are they so spaced out? It'll probably be 30 years from now before we can have a half decent Disney collection in HD or whatever's beyond HD.

They're so precious about their old stuff and getting it out to the public, whats up with that? I find it so irritating that it will probbaly be 5 years before Lion King is even considered for blu ray, and if they do Lion King it will be at the expense of aladdin or something.

Just ordered the Pirates Trilogy as seperate films, on Amazon's 3 for 2, hope I made the right call and don't end up with the version with dodgy cropping.

Their mostly all out on DVD, but you can start your collection now so you don't have to dgi for them later.

I would've preferred the black and blue smoke that the movie starts out with and a black batman logo, but hey, it's not the fucking case that matters, it's the fact that the movie's coming to our favorite format.

Snap. I didn't realize that the one with Batman on the bike was a slipcase. Still, I'm not feeling that Joker cover either.

ahh gotcha. Well, I love that image personally, it's the only poster I own. I didn't just want some generic "yeah I'm batman" image. If only it was a steelbook, then it'd be perfect. :(

But then I'm faaaar too anal about these kind of things.

Ultimate Matrix collection... Japanese version :(

I hope the euro box will have something similar.

HOLY SHIT! Guess I'll be laying down the cash for this since I'm a Matrix geek.

They are precious about their classic films because they want them to be treasures, not commodities. Today's classic (iron man for example) is tomorrow's $7.99 end cap filler. And what do we think of those $7.99 end cap fillers? Garbage, exactly. Not necessarily in quality, but definitely in that "must-have" sense.

By spacing out the releases, putting them on moratorium, etc, they keep the demand high for these movies. I mean they double dipped on Little Mermaid for example. Do you really think they would have sold as many copies of Little Mermaid had they kept it out for 9 years as they had/have selling it once for a limited time and then rereleasing it 6-7 years later? And let's talk about Sleeping Beauty.. we all know that the mainstream doesn't feel "pushed" to BRD. How pushed do you think Mommy Dearest would be to buy Sleeping Beauty on Blu-ray if it's readily available on DVD?

I don't necessarily agree with how Disney releases and then pulls their movies from distribution, HOWEVER I also completely understand why they do it and no matter what have to admit.... their plan works and is frankly part of the reason that their movies are not only loved, but revered as well.

I understand that, but I still hate it. I think their values are screwed. Given the sheer amount of discs they have, I can't go and a get certain film that I grew up with in any decent quality for a younger relative, and by the time it comes out, they will have outgrown that age.

OK fine Disney needs to look after its treasures sure - but why do you think the Disney brand only holds any relevence for young adults who are all nostalgic now? Kids nowadays don't get much chance to relive the classic fairytales, Disney was a great source for the older generation, but nowdays if you don't read you ain't gonna know what aladdin or snow white is unless an adult force feeds you this old looking film. Some treasures eh. Its not like fairytales go out of fashion - why then do kids nowadays look forward to High School Musical and not give a damn about the "Classics"? Cos Disney is too damn precious about them.

They should be out there entertaining kids and making them dream the way we used to dream - thats how you make these things into treasures, through the hopes and dreams of kids. Ironically it was probably Disney who filled me with that crap in the first place.

I remember enquiring about the Little Mermaid once, back when Beauty and the Beast (I think) got the awesome DVD treatment, but years and years later when TLM came out - I just didnt give a damn anymore. I barely knew it came out.

Pixar have released multiple versions of their films, there are multiple editions of LOTR, books included, does this decrease the value of the DVDs? Yes, does it decrease the sentimental value of the films? Nope.

My sister adores Toy Story because she is surrounded by it, we have multiple editions of the film, some she scratched up beyond repair, some just about work and we'll probably buy another copy soon. Similar for other Pixar films. Thats how you make something into a treasure, what disney are doing is making their archive into antiques which are barely relevent anymore.

Thats years of frustration ladies and gentlemen, I need me some Disney :D

my amazon purchases from the crazy ass B2G1 sale is here. Made it from USA to AUS superquick time. I certainly didn't expect it in under 10 days.

Iron Man arrived today and thank god it works. Would have been quite a hassle to exchange it.

Now waiting for the Thing and the unrated comedy pack to arrive. :D

Do you have a PS3 as a BD player? If so what model. I have a launch 60 GB, would it be expected to work on that?

Got Iron Man and Dawn of The Dead today. Ugh, I had to go to 3 different stores in order to find DoTD. Seems like Universal undershipped that one because the guy at Best Buy said they only received one copy and it sold right when they opened.

Totally lame that Target only has that dumbass helmet case version. Was gonna use my employee discount and get it for like $24.
:lol I stopped in Target and noticed that.. thing.

I honestly can't imagine why anyone would possibly want it.

Watched Kill Bill Vol. 1 blu-ray last night... Tarantino kicks ass every time I watch it! What's he working on next?

I hate, hate, HATE the "blu" strip on the Matrix box. It totally kills the appear of the boxart IMO.

How cheap feeling is the target special edition case? I considered getting it, but I dunno and I still have an hour to decide before all the stores open. Also does anyone know if the halloween 3-pack (Dawn of the dead, The Thing, Land of the dead) was out there and if it was also undershipped like the standalone dawn of the dead discs?

Was Iron Man recalled? My friend mentioned something about it yesterday, but I didn't get many details. He might've been bullshitting, but I figured I ought to ask you guys, anyway.

Holy shit, I had no idea that pack was out. Time to run to Target!

Thanks. I already have the Optimus and Megatron TF DVD cases, I don't need an Iron Man one too. Maybe if it came as a mask instead of a case. (for my son, of course)

There was a recall last week. Paramount has already fixed the problem.

I would like to know as well folks...go to the store for me please, and come back and let me know if its 3 seperate boxes or one box.

Didn't see it anywhere.

it seems as if it isnt in stock anywhere...I think its an online only thing because no best buy or target in my town or in the next 4 cities has them.

Just picked up Iron Man and Forgetting sarah marshall.

I looked around BB and there are so many movies I need to get still. Jeez there have been some great releases lately.
