To correct the poster before you, JC has said the 3D BD release is this November (just as he said April 22nd for first 2D edition weeks ago).

Do not want.
Amazon lists two-disc edition.Naked Snake said:This.
I don't care about 3D, but without meaty extra features I'm not biting. Someone said it's a 2-disc release but I don't see that mentioned in the original post or indicated on the cover.

All special features will be on the mega edition in the winter. I bet that will be at least 3 discs.
Also, the Blu-Ray will feature 1.78:1 Aspect Ratio. The same as the IMAX presentation, rather than the cropped 2.35 version that played everywhere else.
...and while I find it hard to believe that it won't have any promos or even menus - this is Fox, after all - I agree with this. Better have the best AV quality than some featurette that I'll never even watch.Everything that is put on a disc takes up room the menus, the extras, the trailers and studio promotions and we got rid of all of that so we could give this movie the best picture and sound possible.

Says there no 3D this year, despite Cameron's wishes. Samsung has it's sets out now. The players come in June. What exactly will people use them for?
The film or the picture quality? Either way the answer is yes, its awesome.Zaraki_Kenpachi said:Is that supposed to be any good?

Apparently there was a really awesome limited edition in Europe? Any rumors of that one coming to the US? I LOVED the movie, but I want the best edition available. If this is the only version we're getting, though, then I'll go ahead and buy it.

CiSTM said:I'm with you. Cinematography is the only thing I have enjoyed in Mann's movies (only seen Collateral and Miami Vice) and I think Dion Beebe was responsible of cinematography in both films so Mann really doesn't have anything to offer me.
HyperZone<3 said:if I were to ding Mann on anything it would be his really terrible soundtrack choices. Hell, even Public Enemies had distractingly solemn and crappy music intruding on the action every so often.
As did Collateral, as did (especially) Miami Vice. Get him a new music guy, please.

1st of May in the UK apparently. The best looking Pixar movie there is, methinks.
Naked Snake said:Funny, because I distinctly remember not liking the cinematography in both Collateral and Heat. If I remember correctly there were too many tight closeups and many shots felt claustrophobic. I personally like cinematography that is more relaxed and uses wider shots.
In Heat I felt like it was trying hard to get a lot of facial closeups for the "ensemble cast", particularly DeNiro and Pacino. The final action scene felt like it was Pan-and-Scan to me. I don't know if some of the DVD editions had different framing issues, it's possible I guess.

Octopuses like to watch high-definition television (HDTV), say scientists.
In experiments evaluating how the cephalopods respond to moving images, they responded far more vigorously to HDTV than standard definition TV.
It appears their eyesight or behaviour is too sophisticated to react to lower quality images, say researchers in The Journal of Experimental Biology.
Knowing that octopuses prefer to watch HDTV gives scientists an important tool that can be used to study elements of their behaviour, such as personality.

Grumpy Old Men/Grumpier Old Men
Miss Congeniality 1/2
They decided to go with Maximum Movie Mode instead of a traditional audio commentary, which is cool because MMM is awesome but it's a director's thing, I don't think I've ever seen a writer be a part of one.Costanza said:Hell yes. Will preorder.

DigitalBits said:Disney tentatively plans to release its new Blu-ray edition of the original Tron! Look for it in November (a month before the theatrical debut of the new Tron Legacy sequel), or so says Jeremy Sheer who administers the Disney Movie Rewards program's Facebook site. He also posts word there that Disney currently has The Lion King set for BD release in October of 2011.

All Warner, Disney, and I think Fox new release Blu-rays come with a DVD and Digital Copy for this year at least. Universal has been doing Combo Blu-ray/DVD discs for a few catalogue releases.DJ_Tet said:I really hope more new releases start coming with dvd copy (or digital copy at the least.)
Yes, they do expire about a year or so from release. I don't really care for them. Including a DVD is preferred._Isaac said:Do the digital copies reside somewhere on the disc or does it simply take you to some online source for a download? If the latter, doesn't that mean they can expire in a short amount of time?
Any chance of a director's cut for this one? Or did the director get to release the film he wanted in the theatres?Gary Whitta said:June 15. Blu-ray will be a BD/DVD/Digital Copy Combo Pack.
