i went kayaking and my iphone4 was in my pocket. fell in twice.

placed the iphone in a bag of rice overnight.

next morning it worked but kept flashing error messages about a 3rd party device being attached.

looked at dock connectors, sea water evaporated onto the ports forming a crust of salt.

scraped salt off, phone worked just like new.

okay but that doesn't mean you can use it in the shower or the pool :-P

EDIT: for those with hot pursuit, does it have a touch steer control scheme? I really don't like tilt to steer.

I just checked...it doesn't appear to have a touch setup. I can tell you that tilt-to-steer works really well though. I bought the game on a recommendation from this thread and I've been really impressed with it. It's a surprisingly legitimate game, if that makes any sense.

Downloading Street Fighter IV now. How's Mirror's Edge? The Sega games seem tempting, but I've played most of them. I recommend SMB2 though if you like those type of games. I also plan on picking up Infinity Blade and Battleheart, even though they aren't on sale. I've gotten so much content from that $25 iTunes giftcard I got for Christmas.

Only played the first 3 stages so far and it's easily worth 99cents. Controls are nice and responsive.

Tried the free version of Reckless Racing. The standard controls are pretty responsive as well. I might dip into the full version with a bit more play.

Capcom Arcade is horrid. Will probably delete this!

I just beat ME yesterday - lots of fun, and def worth a buck!

Crap crap crap

All these sales and I happen to be out of town the whole weekend. I'm at a hotel right now with crummy wireless and just my iPod.

Is there any way I can purchase a game without having to download it? I thought about just buying them through iTunes and then letting the downloads crap out, then when I get back home I would download them again.

Is there an easier way to buy and not instantly start the download?
You could probably just buy the apps as gifts and then redeem the codes when you are ready to download them.

Just grabbed NBA Jam...I'm pleasantly surprised to discover it's the entire Wii game.

Controls seem fine to me. I just destroyed the Thunder with my Clippers.

DevelopmentArrested - go into the gameplay options and turn tag mode on.

Played 2 games. Its alright. Like always for me on Iphone games, controls are kind of subpar. Is there anyway to play as 2nd character when you pass to him?
Oh man...They didnt fix that? Thats how it is on Wii/360....Horrible.

I can't get used to the controls for SF4. Tried messing with them but can't find a config I like. Oh well not like I spent a ton of money at 99 cents. I love Plants versus Zombies so much I bought it on itouch and it is fantastic. The touch controls are as good or maybe better than using a key and mouse for the game.

I might go get NBA Jam. Especially if it is the full game.

Do want NBA Jam, but EA has got me accustomed to buying anything they have for 99 cents. So I'll wait till their next 99 cent fire sale. I think they have one every quarter.

Is Synth Racing any good? I love me some WipEout.

NBA Jam is perfect for a portable. Ton of cool stuff to unlock too. Well worth the $4.99 if you have had any interest in this series.

Holy crap at SSF4 being really awesome. I normally hate virtual controls but man this game is awesome.

Quick question: is their any way to not lose your save data if you have to reformat your ipod touch? I have a brand new ipod touch and it keeps on skipping the second song of every album I have on it. It's really annoying and I'm going to call Apple about it. I've already reformatted twice because of the same issue.

Ifi buy and install games on an iPad will I be able to redownload my purchased games onto an iPad 2 using the same account or do you have to pay per device?
You haven't backed them up onto a computer? If you have, then you can just transfer them to the new iPad 2 from your compoooooter or whatever.

You can redownload them directly on the new iPad, just log in with your Apple ID.

It only held my attention for a bit. As a Wipeout fan, I like Speed Forge Extreme a lot more, it's one of those few iphone games that I still play a lot after having it for about a year. It's only $0.99 and it has a pretty damn big range of tracks and graphics that are both technically and artistically much above average. No other futuristic racer comes close on the iPhone.

One word of advice though: turn off motion blur, it's kinda pretty but ruins the game's framerate. Luckily, the game is a great smooth experience without it. There's some aliasing and it doesn't support retina but that really hasn't bothered me.

This game consumed me even when I couldn't get past the first boss. Now my party is 15-16 and I'm just crushing but it still has some challenge.

Easily one of the best games I've played on iOS. It has everything I want. Its real quick pick up and play, you can make progress in a short period of time. Plus you are always unlocking new items and skills. Then the strategy and good ole' tank, healer, dps, support type mechanics always keep me interested.
*fistbump*

seriously, anyone remotely into RPGs should get it. it's cheaper than a mcdonalds value meal for cryin out loud.

It's so awesome that even though I beat it a few days ago, I'm grinding the other classes to 30 just because I'm so interested in their skill sets.

It's scary, really.

Best dollar you could ever spend.

I got it when it was discounted at $4.99, excellent game. Now if only Pop Cap Games lower the price on Plants vs Zombies for the iPad so I can finally triple dip on the game, I hate playing the iPod version at double the size on my iPad :(

Holy shit NBA Jam has tag mode?!
How are the controls?

And holy fuck at Goo, I paid 4 times that a couple of weeks ago.
Awesome iPad port.

Got Shadow Guardian since it was only $0.99. Only checked it out for a minute but already felt like I definitely got my money's worth (a feeling I didn't have with DMC). Even if the game suffers from horrible Gameloft-style copycatting and lack of polish, the game's friggin' gorgeous! I felt like I was playing the Uncharted NGP demo that was showcased recently. (note: just saying it amazed me and it felt like that in the first minute or so, it's probably pretty shitty overall but I think it's worth a buck)

One of the ugliest and most terrible controlling games I've ever played.
First time I've been pissed about losing a dollar.

Now that NBA Jam is out, one game I'd like to see is Madden NFL Arcade. A full blown Madden is never going to work on iPhone, but get the Arcade version on there? I'm there!

NFL Blitz! Doesn't EA also own that IP now?

Got it!

I'll have fucking feast waiting for me when I get me an iPad. Hurry up Apple :(

Same here I've been buying up the iPad only apps for that fateful day when i finally buy the 3rd revision iPad that will feature a retina display comparable to that of the current iphone 4. iPad 2 will have increased resolution but not quite incredible as the 3rd rev screen.

How good is Espgaluda II on iPhone?

I was FLOORED by how well they handled it.

Other developers should study what Cave did in making a traditional game work with touch-only controls.

Does anybody happen to know the hidden achievements, on that note?

You cannot possibly know this.
