I had alot of fun with the last challenge, congrats to everyone who had a fun week of playing and I can't wait till the next challenge! I nominate mr ninja Its a fun pick up and play game!

you can make a thread for the weekly challenges if you want to keep out of this thread. I think thats the best way to go.

You can update OP weekly with game Etc. I'm down with that. I dont think the score posts are an issue. People like to whine about stuff.

Not really whining. More of a suggestion that would benefit all. Many people like to use this thread to discover new apps. The high score competition is awesome, but it has gotten to the point of taking away from what this thread has always been. Hell , this thread is my landing pad hee at GAF. It's all good either way, I don't really care that much.

Has anybody tired this?

Yes! This is probably the one and only time I'll ever be first on anything game related haha. Extra thanks to Dash who organized it, and Oracrest, Dacvak, Shok and Jags for keeping it very, very tight towards the end. I mean damn, I won by a mere few hundred meters!

Congrats on a glorious victory!

Here's my gift to you...

My vote is Flick Golf or Flick Kick Football. Monster Dash is another good one but basically like Canabalt with guns.

If you guys end up doing one of our games, we could probably scrape up some sort of Sidhe/Pikpok prize for the winner.

Wow, didn't know there was an iOS version of Who's That Flying! And it's only 99c, instabuy.

Wow, about time.

Some of the UI stuff looked like poo on the iPad.

They updated not long ago with better iPad support, but not ideal. Hopefully it's all good now!

I only recently clicked with Drop7, it's fantastic. You might find my earlier posts being a bit dismissive of it, but I take it all back. I'm hooked.

Also, a new rhythm game coming out called 'Pulse' looks like just the thing to tickle my Ouendan fancy. Comes out this Thursday.

Hate coin drop. Hardly any game in there since ur actions r based on the physics.
Drop a coin watch the physics do it's thing. At least Peggle u have more control

I finally got Coin Drop today and it is just as good as I was led to believe.
I didn't like it, although I'm also not into Peggle. Probably the only GAF-induced iOS app purchase I regret doing.

Also, the presentation sucks, and it's not even full-screen on the iPad.

Went further back into the thread to see if it had been posted yet or not and I didn't see it so just wanting to let others know the iPhone and iPad versions of You Don't Know Jack are up on the App Store. I happened to see them last night. I put in a lot of iTunes cards not long ago so I think I'm gonna buy it. Greatly been enjoying the PS3 version of the game and curious to see how the iPad version works.

Wow ... ( later-pun intended )
Finally went for Order And Chaos ... And if that's not World Of Warcraft , I can't imagine anything that feels that much like it.
the music, the buildings, the skills, system, characters, everything screams WoW (got it now ? :D).
The nearly instant resume of the app is a killing point, which allows some hop & go very pleasing in a MMO.
Loving it so far !

Isnt the Tiny Wings score based a lot on progression though? Seems like it should be a game, like Canabalt, that has everyone starting on equal footing.
The achievements are pretty easy though. People can ask for tips doing them in there here too.

Basing it on distance is an alright idea, but it's totally different if you're going for distance. If you're good at getting cloud touches, you can easily get much higher than someone else's score even if they've gotten a better distance.

Any games that take advantage of the iPad 2?

I've tried some of the games I already own and a number of them now run much smoother than they do on my iPhone 4. I'd love to see what kind of 60 fps games are now available. Games like World of Goo, for instance, now operate at a perfect 60 (unlike the original iPad).

Infinity Blade and Real Racing 2 are the most notable optimised titles so far.

yeah i'm not feeling coin drop at all, it's like an even more random yet somehow easier peggle.

Real Racing 2, Infinitiy Blade, Dead Space HD, Asphalt 6 and Nova 2 I think.

Price drop for Shredder Chess. It's 2,99 euros now. Though the free version should be enough for most people...
I was about to second the comment about the free version until I noticed that the free version isn't showing up in my App Store (US.) I don't know if I would have paid $3.99 for it if I hadn't tried out the free version, but since I have, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. So much better in presentation and play than most of the quick chess hacks out there.

Rediscovered Peggle last night. The joy of it really comes when you have about 3 pegs left with only one ball, and you have to figure out how to nail them all.

Also, for soccer fans...First Touch Soccer will release tomorrow (folks behind X2) for an intro price of $0.99.

Is first touch going to be universal?

iPad specific version coming soon after according to their twitter feed:

Team First Touch
@teamfirsttouch Team First Touch
iPad Specific First Touch Soccer will be released shortly after the iPhone & iPod Touch version. Will keep everyone posted on its progress!

Some control features I see on their website:

We have a new control method in FTS. We still have 3 buttons, but instead of pass, shoot and thru-ball we have Low, Hard and Lob Kick. Passing will still generally be done with the Low Kick button, and shooting with the Hard Kick button. However in FTS it’s also possible to perform a low hard pass, or a short lob. These kicks were not possibly in X2 Football. The change of the thru-ball button to Lob Kick button, is really no great loss. Thru-balls are still possibly but much be performed by pointing in the thru-ball direction rather than just expecting the kick to be automated.
The difference here simply to allow for more control and freedom. You can do anything with any button – you can pass with the hard kick button, perform a low hard cross with the low kick button or chip the keeper with the Lob Kick button. There’s more variety and accuracy possibly with FTS than there ever was with X2 Football, and whilst the new controls might take a little getting used to for regular X2 players, we believe the change is well worthwhile.
In addition to these core changes there is the option to switch Kick Assists to Low, High or Off. The default setting is Low which gives your kick direction a little help in reaching your team mate, or the goal. High gives more help, and Low turns this off altogether.
For all kick types, regardless of the Kick-Assist setting crosses are auto-detected for all kick types when in the final third of the pitch, and you’re not making an obvious kick in the pointed direction.
