Infinity blade is on sale as well for half price.
Just picked up that and chaos rings.
Can't recommend IB enough for anyone that doesn't already have it. I started playing it again after the update this morning and it's just as good as I remembered. Medieval Punch-Out rocks.

I started playing it again yesterday after hearing of the new content... and got destroyed. It might take me a while to get up-to-speed on the patterns again.

Don't forget, you can re-start Bloodline 1 (and keep all your XP & items) to make life a little easier. You'll get far less XP per fight but you can always grind your way back again.

What a great fuckin day for iOS! Infinity Blade, the best goddamn game for the platform gets an awesome update and Storm in a Teacup looks like another wonderful 2d platformer...and I'm off to download it now. I also downloaded that free 4th and Battery game and that looks pretty cool as well.

Yeah, I might just do that.

I was thinking that I was still gunning for the achievement for doing a load of Bloodlines, but I had already passed the threshold a while back.

Any tips for Bug Heroes please? I really struggle... not sure why - I play as mostly spider (upgrade his weapons, get the bomb and assassins cut) and try to have a mixture of levelled up towers. Take on almost all side quests unless I'm being completely over-run. Always die quickly - help! :(

Hey what happened in that last game? You just stood there... bad connection?

Sorry chap, I got the 'Next Match / Quit Game' dialogue and I had to quit because I was just dossing about during a conference call and then it got all important whilst I was mid-game. Oops!

I shouldn't really have accepted the invite but I wanted to see how multiplayer worked. It's weird, I haven't got a clue what was taking place at all. Sliders? Tap the skulls? I need to RTFM!

One shortfall of Game Center that I've noticed is that I couldn't find a quick and easy way to tell you all this through Game Center. Is there some sort of chat / message facility that I'm overlooking?

No sweat...

That explains it... The controls I saw were the exact same controls you play the single player with. I think I would have been baffled as well with the controls you describe.

Game Centre just needs to copy Xbox live... and then it will start becoming useful!

More iOS happiness! Pix n Love Rush just got updated with a new mode. Haven't tried it yet though.

By the way, Storm in a Teacup is an absolutely fantastic platformer so far and it might just become my favorite for iOS if it keeps up with the quality.

so iOS is the new home for platformers, eh? The last time I played this many that I enjoyed was when I had a NES.
There are definitely some good ones.

Which platformers are you playing? Just want to make sure I'm not missing any.

possibly the best iOS game (carcassone) got the GC update - rad!

same here... excited to see what all the hype has been about!

Just the usual suspects - League of Evil, Mos Speedrun, Pizza Boy, Soosiz, Sonic 4 (sucks), Rolando 2, and then the stuff like Monster Dash, Mirror's Edge, Canabalt. Stuff you probably already have played to death.

1-bit Ninja is looking interesting

I bought Infinity Blade when it released and was very impressed at first, but I got bored with it faster than I thought I would. I am gonna give it another chance to see if I was just playing wrong.

I personally have never gotten tired of IB but the new survival mode is an awesome pure action mode with none of the magic spells and the multiplayer battle mode is just pure genius.

I had a blast with Mirror's Edge. It ends kind of abruptly though, I hope another is coming.

Don't sleep on Storm in a Teacup! Absolute wonderful so far of what I've played and different from other iOS 2d platformers out there since there are some cool physics puzzles in there and the game just plain controls very differently too. Very floaty but super easy to control.

Has anyone played Small Worlds on the iPad? I'm interested, but the lack of online play is making me hesitant to pull the trigger.

Bumpy Road is fantastic. It takes a while to really get the mechanics. Way more to it than I thought my first few games.

Just had to say, your voice in Sword & Sworcey is the best part so far. :P

Will check out this game too.

This. People expect iOS games based on a simple mechanic to be mindless and skill-less. BR takes real time, precision and practice to get good at. One it starts "clicking", it really goes from "this is ok" to "this is rad".

Plus it has a real soul, and i'm a huge sucker for games with soul.

I really think this thread has become populated with developers posting self recommendations, pretty much like all the fake app store ratings. Hard to know what to trust anymore.

Reading the reviews for the iPad version of Chaos Rings, apparently it is just a blurry stretched up version of the iPhone version. Is that true?

Huh? What madness is this?

Is Robert the cool smoking guy?
He's the voice of Logfella aka the fella chopping/carrying logs

I'm not really sure why you have this impression. This thread is amazingly useful, and the only dev posts i have seen throughout it's history are GAF'ers posting games they made. I think its amazing that people i know on GAF (fellow devs, new devs, hobby devs & fans) can all post here about iOS gaming.

Self-recommendation? There's literally none of that here. You're seeing things dude.

I haven't noticed any such behavior.

I want to second this: all the devs who post here are very careful not to push their apps, just discussing & informing people, but with full disclosure of their status. I'd say they are much more careful than fans of their products.

This is a great thread, definitely the place through which I buy 90% of my iOS games.

My thanks to all the devs and gamers alike for making this what it is.

Huh, that's really cool.
Smoking guy is the coolest character in the game though, sorry Robert!.

I don't think that's true. Although there are some self-promotions, they're always clearly labelled. The dev input in this topic is one of the reasons that this place is cool enough to freeze a penguins balls.

The developer participation in this thread is great. Can you actually pinpoint a post where a developer was misleading or disingenuous in recommending their game? I get super annoyed when people blindly praise developers that participate in threads on NeoGAF, but people here seem totally down to earth, and the devs we have participating have actually made good games and seem open to feedback and discussion.

What are you talking about? Seems like only a few devs are on here and mostly everyone else is posting about games they enjoy...not sure where you are seeing this thread become like the app store ratings. Don't know who to trust? Use the internet to follow up with games you're curious about but that get mentions on here.

I love having the few devs on here that post regularly.

Ok iOS-gaf what are your top 3 played games this month of may? What has you hooked what can others get on to compare some scores, it's all about the challenge and belonging to a group.

Mine are
1-the creeps
2-out of the park baseball
3-angry birds rio

Love ootp but seems like the Ms are prgrammed to suck no matter who is one squadmeverynseasom. :(

I'm surprised people are saying they're disappointed by Bumpy Road. I actually quite enjoy it and it indeed does get better as you improve. I did like from the beginning though so idk...

I bought last week but haven't played much yet. Great production value and pass and play is done well I've just been too lazy to learn the rules (never played board version).

How do you guys play Infinity Blade on an iPad? Two hands? I can't figure this shit out.

I've played it on both my iphone and ipad. I have to say, Infinity Blade is best played on the iphone. The control scheme just doesn't work well for ipad which is a shame because the game is great looking.

Yeah, I feel like Infinity Blade is really cumbersome on the iPad, especially using the dodge buttons. It's still totally playable and fun, but there are a lot of times I'll miss a dodge because of trying to reposition my hands properly.

Seriously, game is reallly good. Have hardly been able to put it down. I have plenty of solutions published too. :)

Also, does anyone know if RAGE HD plays better on the iPad?

Pretty annoyed about there still being games that have seperate iPad versions. Just make universal games, I don't want to buy the same app twice, once for my iPhone and once for my future iPad.

Just FYI, there's actually one really solid reason *not* to make an app universal - and that's if making it universal pushes it over the 3G download limit. If you're a developer and pushing ads for your game (where someone only connected via 3G would see them), the effectiveness of the ad drops by an astonishing amount if the person who's interested can't download the app right then & there.

I know from the user's perspective, it doesn't matter at all, but it can make a *huge* difference to a developer who's counting on every penny they spend being as effective as possible in attracting an audience. (For us, since all our games are free, it's less of a hassle to have them not be universal, but Card Ace: Casino, for instance, bumps right up against the 3G download limit...)
