Are there any good card game compilations? Or are they all single game apps really? I see lots of poker ones but I want some different card games, I guess I was just spoiled with DS Clubhouse Games.

I've released a couple of card games to the app store, they are each a little different from their namesake, and best of all they're free (for the time being).
Straight Aces
Solitaire Stacker

Solitaire City is also a good compilation game for the device.

money laundering / fraud issue

wink wink

They want people to spend money. If you gift out of your gift card balance (money they already have since you can't use it for anything else) that means your friend isn't going to add money to his account.

Quick recommendation for two games that I don't remember seeing in here:

Super Stick Golf http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/super-stick-golf/id397049430?mt=8
mzl.nblznhud.320x480-75.jpg

Simple and fun little golf game. Sequel to Stick Golf and it contains all the original game's courses. Retina and Game Center supported, and they will be making it a universal app eventually. Currently on sale during a launch promo.

Beyond Ynth http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/beyond-ynth/id386303262?mt=8
mzl.ncrrtuff.320x480-75.jpg

Great puzzle/platforming game. Retina and Game Center supported, unfortunately not a universal app, but there is a seperate HD version available. Both versions of the game are currently on sale. They released a free seasonal version of the game as well. http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/beyond-ynth-xmas-edition-hd/id404515391?mt=8

It's one of the best games on iOS, I reckon - some of the later levels are fiendishly tough.

Sooo goood - everyone with an iOS device should own this game !!!

They really butchered Broken Sword, didn't they? No "Paris in the fall" intro for George, the first 30 minutes throws two slider and a cipher puzzle at you which feels out of place in a Point and Click and then to top it off, they've changed and dumbed down George's opening dialog.

"The explosion was to change my life forever" is gone and now some useless joke is made. Ruins the tone and makes the player (new) think the game is about Nico and her report.
I don't really like the changes either. It adds some inconsistencies as well, like in one of the new parts they talk about euros, despite it presumably being set in the 90s and them referring to francs in Broken Sword II, which is set after the first one.

The iOS version of Broken Sword II is essentially the same, just with some new art, so I like it a lot better. The Monkey Island method of letting you switch between versions is clearly the best, though.

I think I might be lttp on Game Dev Story but I hate that I want to keep playing it so much. It's so repetitive with virtually no sense of accomplishment yet I can't help but develop at least 2-3 games per train ride to work.

Anyway, about to take a sweet trip to Puerto Rico next week and need to load my iphone up with some great games for the flight and time spent on the beach.

Btw, am I the only one who has been a "console whore" when it comes to iOS games? I have too have all the "console like" titles on my iphone. I still buy a ton of quirky indie games but lose interest in them quickly because I'm looking for the next iOS console like experience, i.e. Gameloft.

Anyone have any recommendations for a case for a touch with a built in battery?

Im finding the battery life on this thing is pretty horrible. Such awesome games though!

Regarding the Kairosoft Hot Spring game. I had my wife e-mail Kairosoft and ask them about English in the game. Surprisingly they already responded (I guess they work really late on Friday nights!?). They say in the e-mail that it currently doesn't have English in the game. They did say however that they are planing to add English in a future update. So at least I'll be able to play it in the future. I'll paste their e-mail below. It'S in Japanese, but some people might be interested in seeing.

I know I am quoting myself here, but the universal update is out now (native iPad support), and they are starting work on adding multiplayer.

It's almost like a puzzle game pretty neat. Lots of content too and very challenging.

My only nits atm:
-would be cool to have variable wind, but that's maybe a selfish request since i prefer a realish golf game vs a puzzle game
-power meter charges up too damn slow -- why does every iOS golf game do this!? maybe i'm just old school but i like the power-setting to be challenging although obviously here the big challenge is calculation

Ok, what is the difference between Warpgate Free and Paid versions?

I can't find anything anywhere :|
There are probably ads in the free version.

Man, hate it when deva aren't clear on the differences between versions. So many app descriptions don't give the information people want to know.it turns me off.

I would like to see wind as well, the original game had two difficulties, easy (no wind) and hard (windy).

That's awesome, if you mail them again, you should tell them they have a healthy fanbase in the "west" already. Also, if you could ask them if they're looking for an international publisher for their games on various platforms, I'll send you a contact email address. ^^

I'd love for someone with a Japanese account to gift me that game once they add English :D

That was nice of them.

Maybe I'll translate it later, too early, haven't had breakfast yet, head all swimmy.

Basically says what cracker said: thanks for interest, wanted to put it in both English and Japanese at time of release but ended up Japanese only, promise to allow interaction with App in English in the future. Until then please wait, sorry for the inconvenience.

The game is awesome, certainly better than Game Dealer.

I doubt that's the only difference! Would not pay just avoid the ads.

Quoting this post because this game app is indeed awesome. I haven't even finished the regular Stick Golf courses yet to get to the Super. This game is packed with content and the courses get crazy.

Yeah the changes made really were odd, I really like the Nico stuff that was added but there was no need to change stuff like Georges iconic opening line. It's made worse when the new line that replaces it is just plain dumb and makes George come off as an annoying american which he isn't of course. Still it's nice to have one of my favourite games in my pocket even if it isn't the best version of it.

Agreed, though can't say I like the Nico stuff I have played so far, Layton puzzles have no place in Broken Sword.

I actually asked Charles Cecil about the opening lines being removed, here's what he said:

@madebyluke We thought a lot about those George Intro lines and felt that they would feel wrong given that it wasn't start of game. Sorry.

I feel bad that he ended that with 'Sorry'. :(

The Game Center updates are live now! This makes me very happy, as my achievements aren't showing up in OpenFeint anymore.

You wrote that the onsen game supports English, so I bought it but it seems to be only in Japanese. How were you able to change the language? Did I just waste ¥450?
Oh shit, I'm REALLY sorry about that :(. I just copied it from their iTunes information. I myself am playing this in japanese, since my iPhone is running with japanese settings. Really sorry, mate :(.

'will work with any game that supports a Bluetooth input peripheral'? I didn't know any did? If they can, why the hell has someone not come out with a simple joypad for iPhone/iPad before now? And if it's a recent thing, can we please have one? As much as that arcade cab is cute (and I might buy one), i'd also like a separate controller.

I keep wanting to buy a new game or 10 on the app store but then realise I still have about 20 games I need to complete or play through, lol.

NFS:HP is rather good, so much better then shift which was ok, the car's just feel better and the visuals stand up rather well on my old touch.

Nearly finished with Real Racing, just the last 20% or so to go then some time trials, awesome game and I can't want to replay it on a modern iphone 4 / 4g touch once I get the chance.

Sushi cat is awesome.

*edit* Queens Crown is 59p now from £2.99 or something, looks fun, can't help but try it out.

Anyone know how to update their icons to the nicer retina ones in the app store?

Also picked up Helsings Fire and have to say I wish games on the iPhone were always this polished :_(

Ill give you guys a preview of the next update of my iphone game.
I'm just making this for fun but my personal challenge to have the best ball rolling game on the app store. With this update I think I have Super Marble Roll beat :)

Of course anyone who bought or downloaded old version will get this for free.
