Download CyDelete off of Cydia and just delete it like a normal app.

EDIT: The phone will still be jailbroken, but she won't be able to download from Cydia.

Hmm a restore seems to have made my home button more responsive. I wonder if I should still exchange it. So far I'm having trouble replicating the issue. Anyone got any advice what they would do in the same situation?

Right, welcome to the USA. We like contracts, some of us have family contracts and plans. Its how it goes. Pay as you go is NOT big here at all. So for instance my mom had an old iPod touch and really wants the new iPhone 4. We are on an ATT family plan.

It would be way cheaper if she could just get the new iPhone but not pay for data. She doesn't have much of a need for 3G and the 15 dollars a month plan is useless. She just wants the wifi features and to not be stuck with the shitty devices that are not smart phones as well as not wanting to carry a new iPod touch and phone. One device makes it easy.

I just don't get why carriers mandate plans on smart phones. You should just be able to turn off 3G if you like.

Blame yourselves that , lol. I don't know why people love contracts, its really stupid for 4 people to share 1500minutes. I've heard from my cousin that people would refuse your call if you're not on the carrier as them.

Be warned if you use T-Mobile with Iphone as well. Those fools charged my parents $2 per MB because my cousin used wifi on his Iphone and when it dropped, it automatically switched him to T-Mobile's service without even asking. They tried blaming it on the Iphone which is pure BS. My other cousin told me that he couldn't connect to youtube but now he can, with the same iphone that couldn't before. Oh and you can't even turn off the feature.

I returned my iphone 4 from Best Buy and got myself the unlocked one from Apple. I'm using Simple Mobile, $60 for Unlimited talk/text/data. FUCK USA Carriers.

Contracts are good because its cheaper for an entire family and easier for parents to manage.

He should just hide the icon using SBSettings then, eventually he might want cydia back without too much hassle.

Probably extremely LTTP, but holy fuck is Camera+ good.

I think what's making me fall head over heels about it is just how classy it looks and how smooth it operates.

It wouldn't happen to have the ability to blur whatever isn't being focused (the background), would it?

I feel bad for all the camera app devs whose hard work will go to waste once everyone migrates to iOS5. The camera shortcut effectively turns Apple's camera app into the default, "why bother using anything else" top of the heap since I doubt they'll allow you to link that shortcut to other apps.

So i have a 3gs and considerring 3gs' are 49.00 now i'm probably just going to use my upgrade to get a new 3gs since mine is shit.

Anyone know AT&T pricing for the whole deal?

Yeah. I don't use it as much as I should as it is.

also, using the remote to snap photos :(

If you don't mind getting locked out of future OS updates, go ahead. Not sure that risk is worth it since the provider plan's costs will soon eclipse the $150 you'd be saving anyway.

It seems like a really bad idea to get another 3GS at this point. let's say you wait till the fall when the new hardware is coming out, there's a very good chance the current iphone 4 will be marked down to 100 bucks or less.

that would be a better option, imo, than getting a 3GS now. (assuming you don't want to spend 200 or more on the new phone with contract - which is typically the bestest option for getting the new hotness)

My Home Button is getting stuck on my iPhone 4 and most times I need to really press it hard for it to register.

Do you think this is something I could show a Genius and have them give me a new phone? Or would they repair it? It's annoying considering how often I use it.

The difference between my iPad or my mom's iPhone 4 is huge.

You're probably still in warranty so you shouldn't have any problems getting it swapped with a new phone at the Apple Store. Stuck/broken home buttons are pretty common so they shouldn't give you any trouble. Obviously you'll want to make a backup before you go.

I think i'm just going to upgrade to the iphone 4, i have enough to get a 16gb right now, i just need to wait a little bit.

Does anyone know an upgrade plan on an iPhone 4 16GB - White for AT&T?

I'm sorry for asking so many questions, it's just rather bothersome, i can't lock my phone anymore or anything. :(.

What do you mean by upgrade plan? The plans are the same, the device would be $199.

hope they get a move on with update announcements....

work is planning on rolling out new phones for everyone Septemberish but they'll hold off til around December if a new iPhone is on the cards.

I'll take whatever free phone work throws at me but the latest and greatest would be nice!

Has anyone picked up the Gevey Sim Tray and used it successfully? I picked one up since I'll be moving to the UK in a couple weeks and kinda missed out on the jail breaking/unlocking with several updates. Wanted to know what GAF thought of them since it unlocks without having to jailbreak.

I bought it , works good. I returned my locked Iphone 4 for an unlocked one. Having to redo the Gevey sim process every time I turn off or reboot the Iphone was just annoying. Going to give mine to my brother since he got an Iphone 4 as a present and he uses T-mobile.

It doesn't. You might want to look into PictureShow, it's more robust and pretty great too.

I don't know how relevant the actual camera function is as a selling point in these apps though. Personally, I buy them for the editing first and foremost.

To me, it seems like it will come down to the quality of the built-in editing functions in iOS 5, but I seriously doubt they'll be better than the third party offerings currently available.

I hope the Iphone 5's cheaper model is 32gb and the upper is 64 rather than holding at the 4's 16/32 model.

They sorta have to move to larger capacity now since their cloud management revolves around pushing full content to devices.

Went to Verizon today with the hopes of picking up an iPhone 4 32gb, but it appears I'm not due for a phone upgrade until the first week of August =(

Anyways, what cases do you guys recommend? I don't want a screen protector.

Would it be technically possible to make a fingerprint-detection software work on the iPhone? Is the screen that precise?
I've been using the codelock now for quite some time, but I always find it annoying to type in the code. So, unlocking the screen with your fingerprint would be pretty sweet.

I liked the Apple Bumper. The Incase Snap is pretty popular too.

Fingerprinting is not possible on iPhone touchscreen.

For cheapskates, offeredapp.com is pretty neat. They send you gift codes for apps for completing surveys and signing up for spam and what not. I got 1-bit ninja the other day and am getting Photo Toaster today. They change the app every day (I forgot what the app was yesterday, but it wasn't an app I was interested in).

August? Wait another month or so, get an iPhone 5.

And no case. You don't need one.

I just did that a week ago. My home button was getting way too sticky. The apple store guy gave me a new one as a replacement (though that one had its own problems - took it back the next day for another new one - it works perfectly). As long as you're within your first year warranty they will do it - I had about two months left on mine. From what I understand it's not something they will repair - they just replace with a new phone.

Same thing happened with me a few months ago. Both the power and the home button were shot. I think the multitap home button shortcuts are prematurely wearing these buttons out.

(Should this be in an app thread?)

Just DL-ed the Kindle app. One of my books (one with some semi-heavy audio video) will NOT download. I swear the DL has failed out of my archive at least 10 times. Tried reinstalling the app, de and re registering my phone. Anyone have the same issue?

Will it be priced similarly to the Iphone 4? The upgrade seems like it'll be pretty incremental, I'm not sure how much I care.

To whoever brought up the bumper discussion: be weary of using a bumper for months on end. There are issues with most bumpers causing tiny circular blemishes on the metal band if used for too long. Google "iPhone 4 bumper steel band" and you should see a lot of topics concerning it. I'm kinda OCD about stuff like that so I threw my bumper out, regardless of how much I liked the form factor of it.

This is true. My band has a ton of scratches on it from the bumper.

there are a bunch of conflicting reports so no one knows. BUT a recent "rumor" stated that it would be a radical new case design. 8mp camera (as opposed to the current 5mp). one rumour also said that there would be dual-led flash.

of course, it shouldn't all be taken seriously, but the possibility of a big change is still there.

Nope, my launch i4 with launch bumper looks fine?

I do admit whenever I take the bumper off it feels like a whole new phone though.

Used the PDF reader in iBooks for the first time today on my phone. Had to pull a manual up in Safari and told it to open it in iBooks. Very smooth, everything worked great, transition was painless. Pretty impressed with it.

What's the best application for calendars for a 3gs on a windows 7 machine?

i mean like, A windows calendar application that syncs with your phone.

What's the cost to get the back case of the iPhone 4 replaced? I need to get it sorted before I sell it this year for whatever phone I'm getting, but can't with a scratch on the back.
