It's hard to understand what's going on at Sony. The way there are communicating the most basic things is utter shit.
Since they haven't said anything about patching at least their 1st party games to PS5 you'd assume they are doing nothing. Then again they had an event Wednesday and they didn't say anything about the extent of PS4 compatibility with PS5 even when they were showing this PS+ Collection thing, or they didn't even mention that Demon Soul's or Spiderman were launch games just after they showed them. They confirmed both things the next day iirc, I guess after they found out people were asking. I mean these are two basic pieces of 'good news' that you'd expect they'd be happy to share, but apparently not.
It’s not Sony employees not knowing what to do.
it’s Sony employees knowing exactly what they are doing.
in the past half year, some criticisms are:
1. Where’s the console? Where’s the hands on tear down or game site doing testing.
Still don’t have it except for official dimensions.
Why? Too chicken to show it’s giant.
2. Where’s the info on BC and what happens to old games? Like MS detailing for One X or Series X old games can get res or FPS boosts or whatever where this video shows a 360 game doubling from 30 to 60 etc...
Why? It’s probably going to be all boring legacy BC.
3. These games are PS5. No wait, a Sony blog article done the same day as the show in paragraph 5 says they are PS4. Horizon 2, Miles, Sackboy game. Insomniac comes out of nowhere on Twitter to say Miles is PS4 the same day too.
Why? Kills their BS narrative about generations and would piss down PS5 hype if gamers knew Horizon 2 and Miles were cross gen at their June show.
don’t be surprised if GT7 and Ragnarok are too.
the only game so far they seem confident as PS5 only is R&C as they explained the time warp transition thing.
