The last old/previous-gen game you've bought?

GTA San Andreas for PS2. I've always had an aversion to GTA, it just wasn't my thing at all, and I kinda ignored open world/sandbox games for years. Gradually I started checking them out, games like AC and Infamous, and liked them. After RDR and LA Noire I finally said fuck it and dug out my old copy of GTA3 that I played for maybe two hours circa 2002. Finished it in two weeks, enjoyed it enough that I went to eBay and nabbed a sealed original copy of Vice City, finished it in two weeks, enjoyed it so much that I had gone back to eBay and had a sealed copy of San Andreas waiting for me the moment I finished VC. I'm about halfway through it, I think. I should probably start looking for a copy of GTA4. I could download it on XBL, but nah. I'm a old fashioned g.

Some of these games mentioned aren't even from last gen -_-

For me it's Skies of Arcadia Legends for the Gamecube. Still have to dive in though :(

Re-purchased a GameCube and Wind Waker, Metroid Prime, and Luigi's Mansion recently because I'm a straight up gangster.

I don't think I will ever not own a Gamecube and copy of Metroid Prime in my life, or at least I certainly hope not. I know there's the Wii trilogy, but I just can't or don't have the patience to adjust to the Wii controls. Which is probably odd, since I loved the Wii version of RE4. Plus it's a less speedrun friendly version.

I don't usually go in for the "what's your favorite such-and-such", but if pressed for a favorite video game, I can answer Prime 1 with little hesitation.

Found Thunder Force V (PS1) for $7, in pristine condition, at Play N Trade a few weeks ago, so I bought it.

Last earlier-generation game I bought: Parasite Eve (PSN).

Last game I bought for an earlier-generation system: SMT Devil Summoner 2 (PS2).

DS2 was the very last PS2 disc-based game I played. Good way to see that generation off. The story was pretty awful though.

Skies of Arcadia Legends for the GCN. I just started it an hour ago. If anybody has tips it would be welcome hahaha.

I got this for 100 yen at a recycle shop. Now I think I owned nearly every version of this game released.

Why don't they ever remake this game? There have been a million remakes for the first game and not a single one (besides the PS1 version) of this game.

Within the last week
SNES:
Jurassic Park
Mario Paint
N64:
Bomberman 64
Army Men: Sarge's Heroes
Nightmare Creatures
Diddy Kong Racing
Mischief Makers

Probably Devil Summonner 2 not counting HD remakes or anything like that. Assuming it came out after P4.

Still sealed. I'm afraid if I ever open it my cat will rip the plushie to shit.

Oh wait I have Motorstorm Arctic Edge too.

Does VC or XBLA/PSN count?

Than Donkey Kong off of 3DS eShop was my latest old game I bought. Great game! Even better than the Mario VS Donkey Kong games on the GBA and DS.

Also, would Ocarina of Time 3D count as well? :P

Vagrant story - psn

After a decade I finally finished it. Second half was kind of a mess that I wonder if vocal fans actually ever experienced, culminating in one of gamings worst final bosses. Beyond that, so many quibbles with interface, balancing, crafting and other systems that really stick out as piling faults.

Regardless it is a unique game that deserves quite a bit of praise for what it does accomplish. It has such a strong opening and early game that it is no surprise how beloved it is. Dig deeper and it falls a bit apart is all,

- Tomb Raider: Anniversary/Legend from Steam
- Chrono Cross from PSN
- Grandia 2/3/Xtreme (waiting for friend to ship those)
- PS2 and PC version (free download version) of Ys VI

And this:

I picked up Strider 2 for PS1 at a comic expo a few weeks ago, and it's awesome. The discs being labelled incorrectly messed me up at first, though.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time for Super Famicom
$12.50 NZD
Can't wait to play some co-op this weekend!

What a game. I still have a copy myself; used to love the the bit where you fly through the collapsing cave. Very fun game; the music was good too iirc.

Apparently it was composed by the same guy that did the music to Shadow of the Colossus and abunch of anime: Kow Otani.

Not even counting digital games this is tough because I have a couple stores near me that trade and sell old-ass games. I might have actually bought a physical Genesis game a few weeks ago.

Doom for the GBA. It's great fun!

Yeah, it's a surprisingly good port considering it's the damn GBA. Fun fact: it's actually itself a port of the Jaguar version of Doom.

Doom II's pretty good on it as well and is a complete port of the PC version as opposed to the first one, some censorship aside.

Picked this up just a couple months ago. Lost my copy years ago. Found a copy on Ebay for $9 and jumped on it.

And I just ordered this. (It's not really "last gen", but it's 2005):

Super Mario Advance 2, Metroid Fusion and Paper Mario 2 last month.

The better question is: what was the last current gen game I've bought? *trollface*

Marvel vs. Capcom 3 in February

when I have some time I'm definitely getting Doom 2. Loved it as a child

Why would you do that? said:
I'm going to have to get Pokemon Black or White soon.

But besides that, I got BG&E on PSN a few days ago, and SSX 1 and Gradius V for PS2 a couple months back.

I don't think games that came out a few months ago realllly count as "old", even if the 3DS is out. ;p

Skies of Arcadia Legends + Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, both in fantastic condition. Paid like half of what they're actually worth, so that's pretty awesome, especially considering the rarity and prices of both here in europe.

I have no means of actually playing them yet, but i had to do it, as they will not be getting any cheaper as time goes on. I pulled a similar stunt a couple of months ago, and got Tales of Symphonia + Baten Kaitos in a similar deal, and those are not exactly the most common games either.

Missed the Gamecube completely, so i will have a ton of games to play when i finally buy a Wii.

Freedom Fighters. Two years ago. Haven't played through it yet, because the cutscenes would skip on my PS2. Will (eventually) finish it along with what's left of my PS2 backlog.

just bought devil may cry collection last week of amazon when new copies popped up on the site
