The Last Remnant PC benchmark program released

Mirrors Edge and DMC 4 were better on PC?

Well DMC4 ran at higher resolutions, framerate, and had extra modes with more enemies, and Mirrors Edge has the higher resolutions & framerate, and the awesome looking PhysX.

Look forward to seeing how poorly this runs on my 1950

I'll try out the benchmark but after completing the 360 version and getting all the achievements I don't see myself getting the pc or ps3 version.

Hmm...well I could see Mirrors Edge being that much better, and I guess higher res is a given, but with DMC4's framerate...never really had any slowdown on the PS3 version. 60fps all the way through.

Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 3Ghz
8800GT 512MB in SLi
4GB DDR2 Ram
Windows XP SP3 32-bit

98.31 @ 1600x1200

Guys if you have SLi, create a profile for the benchmark and set SLI to Alternate Frame Rendering 2, this benchmark pushes the hell out of SLI (as you can see from the mass green of the bar on the left):D

Does this game have random enemy encounters? I've actually been waiting for the PC version since the announcement but random battles might be a deal breaker for me. Too lazy to read a review now :D .

No, it has visible enemies.

Ok, thanks. Is the music in the benchmark indicative of what awaits in the final game, i.e. cheesy metal? Sorry if this question comes along stupid to you JRPG regulars, I just haven't had much JRPG experience in my life, PC-only gamer here.

Very much so, although I wasn't only talking about the better/smoother performance and fantastic IQ.

Mirror's Edge PhysX support, and DMC4's extra mode - basically using the belated PC release to add to the experience and strengthen weak points of the console versions.

I guess Assassin's Creed is the most apt comparison, since the PC version (while of course running and looking better) also added additional side missions to alleviate the repetiteveness complaints of the console versions. :D

1680*1050
1950 pro
4 gig ram.
E6600 @ 2.4Ghz

24.02 average FPS which is a lie because that counter was at 15fps anytime the screen wasn't fading out to something else :lol
I'll stick it all on med/high and it'll run great.

Haven't played Mirror's Edge, but DMC4? yes, yes, a million times yes. (with a 360 controller, obviously.)

Incredibly optimized, extra modes and features like Legendary Dark Knight (fight tons of enemies all at once throughout Story mode) and Turbo mode (awesome awesome stuff), 120 fps, and the usual 16xAA/16xAF boost.

Hmm, runs about as good as Mass Effect with full detail on this computer. Should work perfect at Medium. I can't wait to try this actually, I missed the 360 wave.

The Japanese version (that includes English text and voice as well) comes out 4/9. There isn't a date for an NA release yet, though.

Wow. That's a big mistake/oversight from Square Enix. I predict a lot of piracy from the Japanese release.

Seriously, invest in a $90 4830 and your rig will be good enough to run anything smoothly. It'll be the best $90 you've ever spent on a PC.

Yeah, especially after what Valve said in that interview the other day this doesn't seem very smart. At all.

Windows 7 beta (64-bit)
Core 2 Duo E6750 @ 3.2ghz
4.0GHz DDR2-800 RAM
GTX 260 Core 216 SC
1680x1050

Pretty cool looking game.
It looks like Final Fantasy, right down to the summons. The battle system looks real-time, though... is this coming out for PS3 as well?

Is that Sephiroth?

E8500
XFX Geforce 8800GT
2gB 667MHz RAM
Standard 1280x720 reso
Averaged 88 FPS, lowest dip I saw was 51, never went under that.

I'm gonna say what I said to a buddy in IRC.........

"betcha it runs better, but still have that loading glitch because its really all UE3's fault."

I dunno all the details, but I avoided the game because knew it was coming to PC, and I'm an HTPC enthusiast anyway.

yea i did, im getting a dx9 error message, maybe its because im running vista 64bit.
What video card are you running? I'm running server x64 and its working perfect, albeit slow because of the integrated graphics on my lappy.

It just might be a driver issue.

Ran it again at full screen and got 96.4 fps average. Not bad, but the screen tearing...ugh.
Well, it's a PC game, you can just enable V-sync to actually play it. (It doesn't make much sense to have it in a benchmark ;))

Yeah, seems kind of crazy to do that if it isn't released in NA and EU at the same time.

I came out with 61fps overall anyway, glad I held off the 360 version now.

62.42 fps at 1650x1080 fullscreen.

Q6600 @ 3.02ghz
4850 512mb
4gb ram
winxp sp3 32bit

Couldn't say an average but it dropped to 31 at times and there was some tearing but that might be down to a driver setting and other apps running in the background. I'll try again tomorrow.

framerate of my test was around 50 @ 1680x1050, although it seemed rather inconsistent during the actual test.

Yep, mine came out at ~53fps @1080p but there were some pretty severe drops at times. If I were to get the game I'd lock the framerate at 30fps as UE3 has a config command to allow you to do that but the benchmark won't run if you touch the config file. I presume this is only to keep scores consistent and it'll be different in the actual release.

E5200 @3.52ghz
6GB DDR2 800
4850
1080p
53fps.

Still looked like it would be playable and I am running a pretty old rig. Except for my video card it is basically a 5 year old computer. Graphics still looked great even with the slowdowns and I could probably turn down textures a notch to make it a bit more stable.

Amd64 3200+
1gig of ram
geforce 8600

Ran the benchmark again at 720p:

Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 @ 3.0GHz
8800GT 512MB @ 690/1000
4GB DDR2-800
Windows 7 Ultimate Beta

1280*720 resolution

89.23fps

Very nice performance. Seems to scale perfectly with resolution, so we know it's pretty much GPU limited at the 8800GT level.

edit: oh, I forgot that I haven't installed Riva Tuner since formatting and installing Windows 7, so I'm running at stock 8800GT speeds.

I picked it up on the cheap for the 360 some time ago, but I hear that if you don't install it, it's basically not worth running. Hopefully my old PC can score decently.
