The Last Remnant PC benchmark program released

My GPU temps are up and my case is horrible dusty, plus it's been freezing.
I think I'll run a defrag and clean it out and recheck stability of my comp before I shoot for 100 fps.
Dipped to 65 in battle, 40 for firing of the gun. Fine by me.
VERY LOW video memory usage (<200MB) and it's using both cores very well. :D

E7200 @ 3.8Ghz
GTX 260

I hope I can turn off motion blur, it looks like ass

Ok I ran the benchmark proper this time. Closed background apps, OC'ed my video card to acceptable levels, and made a few control panel tweaks.

Again, system specs:

Intel Core 2 Duo E6600@3.0GHz
8800GT 512MB @ 700/1015
4GB DDR2-800 @ 667MHz (matching FSB 1:1)
Windows 7 Ultimate Beta (Build 7000)

Changes made to Nvidia Control Panel:
Single Display Performance Mode
Frames to Render Ahead: 0
Triple Buffering: On (doubt this would have an effect)

Game resolution: 1280*720 (720p) <- to compare to console version(s)
2me77e9.png

Game resolution: 1680*1050 <- monitor's native resolution

Great increase in performance with the changes I've made. Not sure if it was simply the overclocking, or removal of background apps, or the few control panel changes made, but performance is incredible given my hardware. Great port, SE.

edit: added 1680*1050 benchmark.

Both I would imagine.

Also keep your GPU memory clocks below 1000Mhz as there might be some degradation overtime if you run them higher (At least I remember from launch). Plus it results in almost no performance gain, especially with the low memory that TLR uses.

I just ran it, I know I can hit 100 fps.

I think my cooling handles it ok. Using ati-tool, I've determined that 1015 is a fairly safe point. 1025 gives me artifacting. Been running at this for over a year now, and it doesn't seem to have degraded yet, so I'll keep it going.

Any of you who have the 360 version, and ran the PC tech demo, does the 360 version get more "intense" than this Tech demo? I'm getting an average of 63/75fps depending on my settings but there are some serious drops to sub 30fps.

Phenom 9600 @ 2.7ghz
HD4850 512mb 710/1150mhz
4GB DDR2 ram
Win 7 Ultimate

Posted in the benchmarking thread as well. I just had to break 100fps.

Ok, this is the best I've gotten so far in TLR, at 720p, without reducing any of the graphical settings.

Wow! My 4 year old computer (though it is sporting 2x the usual RAM and a brand new graphics card) managed an average FPS of just under 50! Impressive! I guess I'll definitely be upgrading to this port over the 360 original!

Nah, a 7950 is enough to pull a decent framerate on this.

Edit: 720p full screen run

Well it comes from how the Qimodia RAM handles the voltages at different timings. Above 1000Mhz it runs a different set of voltages and timing, which the RAM was overspecced for at launch. It's only 15Mhz I'd drop it down to 980 or so, you won't even lose 1 fps.

your CPU is a bottleneck, I get 66fps on stock speeds on my 4850 and about 80fps all at 1680x1050.

Also update your drivers, CATA 9.1 with OpenGL 3.0 support was released today? (yesterday maybe)

Inform yourself before acting like you have an idea of what is going on. It is your processor that is bottlenecking your performance there. A 1,8 GHz CPU is not adecuate for high settings in today's games. Your 4850 is saving your whole system there, but of course you had to troll ATI like a big boy.

That's not bad at all. You may be slightly CPU limited. Don't forget, my bench is with an E6600 @ 3.0GHz. Though, maybe as you said, ATi is a little underpowered here for some reason.

I doubt he was actually trolling ATi. Most people know that some games run better on different types hardware. He probably just thought that was the case here.

Hmm...don't they have another batch of 8800GT with Samsung RAM? It may be possible that's what I have. I know a friend of mine with Qimodia RAM couldn't break 960. I'll scale it back anyways, as you've suggested. I didn't realized it adjusted it's voltage and timings on it's own.

Scored 61.7fps @ 1440 x 990. Dropped to about half that during the close-up shot of David Nassau ready to fire his gun. System setup is:

AMD Athlon 64 x2 6000+
Geforce 9800GT 512MB
4GB DDR2 RAM
Windows Vista

The PC version's supposed have the following new features:
  • Battles can be speeded up.
  • A higher limit of leader units.
  • Visually preview your equipment.
  • Switch between English/Japanese voices (JP version only?)
Xbox360 version's worth around ÂŁ15 over here just now but, console's not mine so I'll wait for PC. Would be icing on the cake if FFXIII ends up appearing on the PC too :D

Just to prove SLI isn't enabled in this game.

Same setting's almost similar scores:

Non SLI

Core 2 Duo E6750 @ 3.2ghz
4.0GHz DDR2-800 RAM
GTX 260 Core 216 SC

Pretty cool looking game.
It looks like Final Fantasy, right down to the summons. The battle system looks real-time, though... is this coming out for PS3 as well?

E8400@4.0ghz
4GB DDR2@1066mhz
Radeon 4870X2
Crystal monitor 1080p

That is really strange. I wonder if the game doesn't like the 4870X2 or something.

Earlier in the thread another guy with the same card as you got a very similar score at the same resolution: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=14577638&postcount=70

But I ran the thing 3 times at 1920x1200 and the lowest score I got was 71.86 with the highest being 74.52.

My hardware is a E8500 (stock at 3.2Ghz), 4GB of DDR2 800 RAM and a 4870 1GB card.

I wonder if you guys are experiencing overheating from overclocking your processors / ram or something, because there is no reason that I should be getting a better framerate at higher resolutions on a single 4870 card.

SLI
(GTX295 aka SLI'd 260's)
*image*

That's Because you're CPU limited. SLi on a pair of 8800GT's gives almost 80% increase in FPS for me on this benchmark and pretty much works them both flat out.

I also Increased my Graphics Card clocks to 700/1015 and got 111fps at 1600x1200, so I'm really thinking you're just CPU bound (mostly because GTX295 is such a monster card so you need a monster CPU to get the most out of it)

Or, you could be running at a higher resolution to the previous guy.

Q6600 @ 3ghz
4GB DDR2 (2X2GB, 3.25GB recognized in 32-bit Vista)
Radeon 4850

1280x720: 92.1 fps
1680x1050 (monitor's native res): 62.2 fps

Sound about right?

I have a Core i7 at 3.3GHz. I care little for this game tbh, I just wanted to show my findings, however, I am OC'ing my processor for other games.

72.95fps.

C2D E6550 @2.33
2GB RAM
Vista 32
9800GTX+ Superclocked
1680x1050 full screen.

So is my CPU my bottleneck? I'm thinking about getting a nice heatsink and overclocking.

No you seem to be fairly in line with my 8800GT and E6600 @ 3.0GHz (I get 66.97fps). You probably won't gain too much from overclocking the CPU.

You are heavily CPU limited. I had a 4870x2 and it pulled similar numbers to my current 295. Overclock your CPU.

I'm extremely pleased at how well this ran on my rig at my screen's native resolution. I have to wonder what FF13 would be like..

Yeah I figured it was my CPU, but I can't, I'm dirt poor right now and only have the stock cpu fan. I figured it would be longer until I was forced to overclock though, all other games have been running smoothly (except the latest stalker, buggy mess).

sli works fine if you look around, as i said in another thread use nhancer. if you want anti aliasing (at a huge performance hit) set aa compat to stalker and set sli to afr2

guy on another board gets

QX9650 4000Mhz , eVga GTX 295

1680x1050 16xAF

Single - 109.29
SLI AFR2 - 138.15

- They also removed the leader limit for forming unions, so the only limitions are the number of unions you can form, and the number of battle members you can have in the game. This seems like it might break the game though, since leaders are so much stronger than normal troops.
I already mentioned it in the other TLR thread, but I agree. I wish they had just allowed more leaders instead of removing the limit.

The benchmark program crashed on my laptop, but I don't expect it to run at a decent speed anyway =p

I am not saying SLI doesn't work at all. It works wonders on most of my games. I was refering to this one game. I need AA though, and not for this game, but for Warhammer Online. I cannot enable it. Also, check at which speed that processor is running. Most likely my 295 is bottlenecked.

Tried on our 2 desktop computers:

1)

Intel Core Quad Q6600 on stock speed
Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTS on stock speed (600 mb version, older revision)
2gb ddr2, 800mhz (dual channel, 2x1gb)
Windows XP SP3

1280x1024 full screen (monitor native, maximum res)

78.98 average FPS

2)

Intel Core2Duo E8500 on stock speed
ATI Radeon 4850 512mb on stock speed
4gb ddr2, 800mhz (dual channel 2x2gb)
Windows Vista Business 64-bit

1280x1024 full screen (for comparison with our other computer)

82.03 average FPS

1680x1050 (monitor native, maximum res)

57,94 average FPS

Not a big speed difference between the older 8800gts and this 4850 512. However, I'm sure Vista64 is doing some slowing down.

Wow, this is really out of left field, I had no idea this was even coming to the PC or I might have waited. Still, I did get the X360 version for like ÂŁ17.99 in a Play.com special so I guess I can't complain too much. Tried to download the benchmark program with my download manager (since regular downloading was so slow) but I got a broken file, so it's gonna take a while to redownload it the normal way.

I had 62.42 fps with the same spec where i run xp32 not Vista so i'd say we're running as it should for our spec. Nice.

I'm hoping to get similar results in the actual game if i sort out my driver settings and tweak the game's ini files.

I don't know on his end but I personally had nearly a dozen other programs opened up and running when I also was running the benchmark.

I'm below the system requirements with an 8400 GS and a Pentium D (3 GHz, at least, but I understand it's shitty), and still getting 20fps without any sort of tweaking. Seems playable, at least.

A Mouse is listed one the system requirements, but is the game not going to support one? Not even for menus? I know it's not particularly good for games, but not including anysupport for mice just feels lazy.

After finally running the benchmark myself, it doesn't really hit the large scale battles that you will find through a good chunk of the game, though the transparencies and effects seemed toned down, which is something they should patch for the 360 version. Expect to lose at least another 15 frames during the more hectic moments.

Are you forcing AA or AF through CCC?

I overclocked my CPU to 2.8 Ghz. There was less that a 1fps difference. I went to the Nvidia controls and set it to TheExodu5's settings and overclocked my GPU. My GPU went from 756, 1836 and 1123 to: 781, 1896 and 1235. I went from 72.95 to 77.92.

r8wn7m.jpg

Still 1680x 1050. It's just a shame I can't get the lows anywhere near 60. It was down to 39 one time.
