machine head friday at hammersmith i cant wait
AC/DC is finished. First, Malcolm leaves, Rudd thrown out, and now Brian Johnson is facing total hearing loss.
Time to retire.
You'll find this is one of the more friendly metal communities on the web.First time here, I think (I drink a lot)
Been listening to a shitload of metal lately though. Got into Gojira late last year, found out about Avantasia and Eluvetie (whose name I can't bother to look up the proper spelling for (folk metal for you huh?)) this year, finally got around to checking out Lamb of God, and right now am jammin' to Equilibrium.
Oh, and I was at one of those Nightwish concerts last week!
But mostly here to share the new All Hail the Yeti tune
Before the Flames
Being honest, I usually avoid big metal threads like these because my tastes tend to hit more mainstream routes which don't always win me favors D: Hoping to scroll through and find some new bands I've never heard of though. THus far 2015 was a good year for that, and 2016 is already starting off damn well.
Anyone check out Soften the Glare, Ryan Martinie (bassist from Mudvayne)'s new jazz funk band?
Video for Controlled Chaos
also Fredrik Andersson (amon amarth drummer who left recently) is drumming for this ending

a full track has been released for preview of the upcoming and long-awaited fourth Mithras LP entitled "On Strange Loops". Sounding great.

Finally, shit. Sounds massive.
In other "fucking finally" news, new Withered track. Apparently Colin Marston is playing bass on the album?

Have fun, man. Both of those bands put on great performances. I'd dare say Sabaton is one of the best bands I've ever seen live, and I've seen a lot. Also, Sabaton and Alestorm tomorrow night. Time to get shitfaced. I never say this, but for this particular special occasion, I will.
Julie Christmas is working with them!? Holy fuck. I'm so glad she hasn't dropped off of the face of the planet. <3
New Cult of Luna album, out next month!Whoa wait what hold on back up
Who is she working with?! Cause even if I hate them I'm fucking buying whatever album she's on.
She dropped off the face of the planet only to pop on Spylacopa's "Parallels" before disappearing again so I wasn't sure what she was up to next.
This is super important to my continued existence.
I used to love Moonsorrow but lost interest a while ago. Verisäkeet is the last thing they did that I enjoyed, though I guess the Tulimyrsky EP was OK. But still even those pale compared to the first three full-lengths. They just got so meandering and dull...![]()
Oh sure, it's all fun and games until I mention Five Finger Death Punch and any metalcore band thoughYou'll find this is one of the more friendly metal communities on the web.
I've gotten into Nightwish Imaginaerum lately. Never been a Nightwish fan before but Scaretale is great in particular. Sounds just like Haunted Mansion from Disneyland in the middle. I Want My Tears Back rocks pretty hard too.

I totally get what you're saying. I don't think they're the most talented musicians out there, but I find it extremely catchy and enjoyable. They are definitely great showmen though, and put on an amazing and energetic show.I'm a huge Power Metal fan, and Sabaton are one of those bands that I don't really get the hype for. Their recorded stuff, at least. I did see them open for Nightwish and they were very good.
I didn't care for the Golden Age. I liked the first two albums a lot for a while, but I feel the pirate gimmick is kinda getting worn out now. There's only so many "pirate" riffs out there.Alestorm are awesome. The last 2 albums have been great.
New Cult of Luna album, out next month!
I really hope she's going to have a more full time project soon. Everything she's touched has been golden. I still mourn the fact that Battle of Mice were only together for a couple of years.

OK OK, Hold your horses there now buddy. Only true fans are allowed to buy Cult of Luna albums so I guess you're outta luckOh man, I'm not a real fan of Cult of Luna /Snick/
Probably one of my top-five albums. It's so damn good, though I'm a sucker for concept albums that give me a story. There's so much magic in Imaginaerum though. Just wonderful.
