The most broken/Overpowered Weapons/Armor/Items in Video Games

I recently saw a thread where people were posting about the most broken/overpowered Characters in RPGs/Video Games, and thought...

What are the most broken weapons/armor/items in gaming?

One that comes RIGHT to my mind is the Lazy Shell Weapon/Armor in Super Mario RPG!

This thing was very powerful, the best weapon for Mario in the game and makes this item worth it because he is always apart of your team, so no matter what, you would always need to get the best weapon for the character that is always in your team.

BUT, the most broken thing about this was the Lazy Shell Armor version of the item.

It has the highest defense in the game, makes you immune to status effects, and all elemental attacks does 0 damage, the only drawback for this item was it took away 50 attack points from the character that had it equipped.

But, the best character to put this on is Princess Toadstool/Peach, because, as a healer, she has low defense, but with this shell on, the attack point debuff it gives doesn't effect her at all, because she is their for support, allowing you easy not being afraid of dying to a boss, and yes, you could even solo a boss because with the defense buff it gives, because with this armor on, she will only take at most 5-10 damage, with 10 being VERY VERY rare, unless the enemy lands a insta-kill atttack or you just don't heal her for like 200 years...

That weapon/armor in the game made the rest of the game a piece of cake if you want to get it, it was SOOOO good!

So, what other weapon/armor/items in games that would be considered broken/overpowered?

Getting Crissaegrim in SOTN is basically beating the game.
Afterwards you just have to walk and press the attack button to destroy everything:

Ike's Ragnell in Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance.

Turns an already unstoppable killing machine into something just plain unfair, especially combined with the Aether skill.

Anyone got a good snapshot of a forged weapon in high level Kingdoms of Amalor? That game eventually made it so you could custom build enough self healing weapons that you could never lose.

Came here for this, nothing ever broke a game for me like this. It's rare too... I just lucked out.

you call that a sword?

Giga sword, 3D dot game heroes. literally "room clearing" in a single hit in many dungeons

If the game had destructible environment, you'd probably clear the entire map in a few minutes. That sword was INSANE.

Does it destroy the final boss in just a few seconds?

I remember almost nothing about that boss fight to be honest- someone else will have to chime in :)

I remember more than once I would enter a room, hit "attack", destroy everything in the room AND most of the stuff in the next room over in one shot because the sword was just THAT damn big

Instant annihilation of pretty much everything that dares to cross your path.

When optimized you can have 5 Sentries (invincible, immobile, untargettable units with no collision, no way to miss hits and no resource of their own) that can attack all enemies around allowing you to up your DPS to absurd height while you just sit back and relax.

Oh and Blizzard is about to nerf this.

The RCP-90 in GoldenEye. If your lucky enough to get one in Multiplayer no one else stands much of a chance, until they inevitable gang up on you.

If you manage to get two, forget about it. Having 2 RCP-90's and body armour in GoldenEye multiplayer is the closest I will ever come to being immortal.

I don't want to spoil it since many will be playing the game for the first time soon, but there's a certain weapon in Majora's Mask that is way overpowered. It's a good thing, but as a kid it made a section of the game too easy for me and I would've like it to to be harder. I could've just not used it, I just didn't think it through as a kid I suppose.

Off-topic but I really really envy these people, they don't know how lucky they are.

There's a couple I can think of, probably ranked in order:

P.R.L. 412 in Resident Evil 4: you can clear a room full of ganados (actually, a room full of anything) with a single charged shot. You can also take out bosses with a single charged shot (or however many shots it takes, depending on how many "forms" the boss has). This may actually be the most obscenely overpowered weapon I have ever used in a video game.

The P-Wing in Super Mario Bros 3: yea, you get to fly through whole levels without so much breaking a sweat. Insane.

Those are special items. There are also a couple of regular items I feel are overpowered:

Cape in Super Mario World
The bow+arrow in Tomb Raider 2013.

This thing. It's a pistol that does more damage than a primary rifle for CT, makes up for the only weakness of a sniper and makes what should be nearly impossible rounds to win a cakewalk for the most part.

Yeah, definitely this. Those items pretty much destroy any semblance of challenge in SOTN. The game is basically beaten when you get those.

Zero shift.

It isn't a weapon or armour, more an ability that makes you practically invulnerable for the latter stages of the game.
Until you meet a boss who can also zero shift.

Basically it instantly transports you directly behind the targeted enemy, giving them no opportunity to stop you or fight back. In a game which all about movement and evading the enemny, this is game breaking.

Which is why they save it for the very last section of the game when it doesn't really have much of an impact other than being pretty damn awesome and making you feel like a bad ass.

Exactly.

It seems a lot of people haven't met the POWAH of the Shield Rod and the Alucard Shield. here's a video just for show.

You just stand there. You just FREAKIN' stand THERE. And almighty Galamoth falls like a sissy girl.

And the final bosses:

Assault Rifle in System Shock 2 apparently makes the game a lot easier if you're smart about ammo and playing Marine. The Crystal Shard counts to a lesser degree, though it's more of a late-game Wrench replacement.
