The Most Valuable Game in Your Possession?

In the past few years I've become a pretty serious collector of retro games. I don't usually care enough to get something mint though.

I have a few pretty rare games I'm proud of. Atari Karts for the Jaguar, Panzer Dragoon Saga for the Saturn, and more.

This is the one I'm particularly proud of however:

I of course don't have a box for it, and it's not exactly mint condition, but I'm still proud of it.

What are some of your guys' valuable games?

I have Pikmin 2 on Gamecube CIB near mint, but I'm not sure if value has fallen since it got re-released on Wii in North America. I do remember it regularly hitting low $100 though for a while.

Outside of that...don't think I have any otherwise particularly rare and valuable games.

My Pokemon Red, though, the sentimental value on that bad boy is through the roof

Panzer Dragoon Saga, probably. I also have a copy of Magical Pop'n for the SFC, that's gotten very high in price but not quite to PDS levels.

I'm not even sure how I would find this out without way more research than I want to spend time doing.

I need some sort of catalog software or something.

The exact same one actually. I also have copies of Castlevania Dracula X and Demons Crest.

There are probably some valuable ones other than that, but I don't know them off the top of my head if so.

Hmm, I wonder... I still have my whole sega genesis collection. Are any games for it selling for a lot nowadays?

Oh and I have goldeneye and Orcarina of time for the N64 too.

Probably my Mega Drive Panorama Cotton or Cotton Boomerang on the Saturn. Btw, what's with Cotton games and high prices?

Another would have been Muchi Muchi Pork/Pink Sweets LE for 360, but I recently used the code for the included DLC since I kept forgetting about it and didn't want to risk it expiring on me like quite a few Playstation DLC.

I'm a little out of the loop when it comes to Panzer Dragoon Saga on ebay. How much are copies of the game with the discs in good condition but without the box or instructions going for?

I would say my ps1 Star Ocean: Second Story, and my PS2 Capcom vs SNK 2. Not necessarily in value just glad I still have them around.

I believe the last time I looked it was Valkyrie Profile for the PS1, but I'm not entirely sure seeing as that was years ago.

Metroid Prime Trilogy, Xenoblade Chronicles both in great condition.
Uh Zelda Collector's edition for gamecube is worth an ok amount...
Night Trap for the 3DO in box runs $55+ and I have that...

Nothing old school but I still have this in factory sealed cellophane:

As well as mint condition MGS1, MGS2, MGS 3 LE and MGS4 LE (boxes + manuals). Yeah, probably some of the few items I'll hang onto forever.

I have plenty of games, but I don't really have much of value. A few I've heard people say are rare, but nothing that really stacks up to high cost.

The most expensive ones I can think of:
Zelda Gameboy Camera (Apparently only a few thousand were made, and I just happened to buy mine out of a catalog as a kid. Not worth a ton, but fairly uncommon).
PSO I&II + on GCN. Had the original too, but lost the disc. :(
Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance (Iirc this got kinda pricey didn't it?)
Xenoblade Chronicles (Though last I check the price was plummeting fast, probably not even worth mentioning any more.)

One Piece Unlimited Adventure (Wii) in English

This game isn't that valuable, but its the best I got. I was pretty surprised to find out that it sold for a good price. I think it sells for $60+ last time I checked. I will never sell it since I love the game.

Either my complete copy of Diablo II collectors edition (which is individually numbered and awesome), or for console games my complete copy of Diablo on ps1. Neither one is super rare, but I'm happy to have them in my collection.

Earhtbound cartridge, Super Mario RPG cartridge. Former I bought for $100 brand new with the guide, latter I bought for $50 used. Both were bought like 2 years after release.

I definitely don't have the EB box, but I may have the guide somewhere. I've lost track of it and I'm afraid my mom threw it away.

I've got a sealed copy of the limited edition of ICO for the PS2 that would probably fetch about £60 these days.

Eh, that's about it.

Hard to say since Xenoblade and Metroid Prime Triology's prices have fallen (Although I bought the reprint of MPT, so that's a crapshoot)

Majora's Mask with booklet and box
Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn
Smash Bros Melee CIB surprisingly goes for a high price for a well sold game
Wind Waker HD Collector's edition

I would say my ps1 Star Ocean: Second Story, and my PS2 Capcom vs SNK 2. Not necessarily in value just glad I still have them around.

Great Choice!

That would have been almost what i would have picked and written
> Star Ocean the Second Story & Dead or Alive 4*

(* fond memories of joy, anger, lags and jizzing all over the place
- just kidding on there were no lags i can recall)

I have Suikoden 2 but not in great shape. Star Ocean 2nd Story. I think I have the SNES Chrono Trigger cartridge.

I forgot about Suikoden II. I bought that for $30 right when it came out, hated it immediately, threw it into my closet.

Years later my brother dug it out and I watched him play. From then on it has been by far one of my favorites. The disc and case are in immaculate condition, so that's probably my most valuable game.

Meet to man, I also got the new One Piece 3DS game and it goes for around 60 on ebay now. (Only 16000 print copies were made.)

Not really sure, but probably Suikoden 2, unless any of my other PS1 RPGs have surpassed it in price. Haven't checked the price on Metroid Prime Trilogy, Xenoblade, or Pikmin 2 in a while either. Most substantial recent increase in price I've seen though is the copy of Akumajou Densetsu for Famicom that I got about a year ago for 1200 yen. It had been sitting in a store with three other copies for months. Last time I was in the store, they were down to one and it was marked at 8000 yen. Looking at ebay, all the copies that are still days out are going for at least half that plus shipping for a loose copy now.

Wait, Star Ocean's gotten valuable? I may have to see what my other PS1 games go for.

The only pricey games I've been tempted to get here are Fire Emblem Thracia 776, Demon's Blazon, Final Fight Tough, and the Super Famicom Wrecking Crew, but I haven't picked them up as I don't like spending more than 3000 yen on retro games if I can help it. I will probably bite on the 10000 or so for Thracia 776 before I leave, though.

Probably Keio Flying Squadron which I have with the disk and case. (I got it as part of a package of used stuff. I know it came with a CD-X as well but I forget what other games it came with since I bought it around 10-15 years ago.)

These two. Not really sure which would be more valuable though.

Factory sealed copy of Game & Watch Collection for the DS.
Probably not that special, lol. I'll probably sell it in a decade or so and see what kind of coin I can get out of it.

I have the disc and case for that as well. I kind of forgot it was so valuable because my friend traded me for it over a decade ago.

I had Metroid Prime 3: Trilogy but sold it when 1) I needed the money, and 2) Gamestop revealed that they were selling copies of it for (I think) $70. I was lucky and sold it for $100 on eBay.

Now, it would probably be Tales of Destiny II.... *ahem* Eternia, which, according to recent eBay sales, sells regularly for over $100, up to $125. That will never, ever go, though. It's my favorite 2D Tales game, and my favorite RPG series.

Kind of the same thing that happened with me and Tales of Eternia. It was just a stroke of luck, I guess.
