The N7 Day 2016 Thread

Wait what?

Also, Oh so kind of like Dragon Age 2 except with less banter between the two and less people shipping them together like they did with Hawke and Bethany.

I'm very surprised if BioWare isn't doing "We thought our parents were dead, but our father is out there. We must find him." storyline as parallel to overarching storyline about colonization and new threats. Then those storylines will join each other and for reasons like "This is wrong, they were here first. Humanity is plague on existence" it's found out that father has joined dark side.

Super obvious and generic I know, but big reason why I expect BW to do something like that here.

Also don't worry. There will be plenty R34 and fanfic about Ryder siblings hooking up :D

Probably a dumb question, but do we know when this game takes place? Is it before or after the trilogy? The description I read in the other thread makes it sound like it's a prequel.

600 years after the trilogy in another galaxy.

However, they spent that 600 years in cryo traveling there, so the tech should be pretty much the same as it was before.

So they aren't going to use the female model as lead marketing model ? I am quite shocked.

it's a helmet

I still haven't played through ME3 to this day.

I hope you enjoy it when you do. It is far from perfect even discounting the ending but it still sneaks past the others as my all-time favorite entry. There's a rich emotional resonance there... well, at least for some of us. I love that game.

*returns from work*

*EDI, what's the status?*

"Commander, a picture of a helmet has been revealed."

"Oh. Okay. Guess I'll go back to calibrating hype levels."

Standard edition cover is beautiful and very Mass Effect. The curve shape with the lens flare is the iconic ME look and doubles nicely as a helmet and planet.

Did you actually play through the ME trilogy?...

Yep, loved it, just haven't been following news on Andromeda too closely. I knew it was set after the Shepard trilogy but didn't know anything about the Arks, or that this was all started during the Reaper threat as a last resort. Luckily others actually explained it for me.

Though that does also seem to suggest this "desperate search" for new planets isn't necessary after all, right? And that Ryder and co could just go home and join the post-Reaper celebrations? =P Unless I'm missing something and we now have a canon ending to the Shepard trilogy.

They don't know that. They've spent 600 years in cryo-sleep.

I like that the boxart (the deluxe edition especially) seems to be emphasizing the exploration element of the game and not a galactic scale war. Having only the protagonist in the frame may also hint at the solitude of the adventure. I know many people fell in love with ME/DA because of their friendship and romance simulator component, but I'd love to see Bioware go in a different direction with Andromeda.

How dare they go With hemlet and not felmet.

Or shelmet

Kinda feel like giving ME3 + DLC one last try before Andromeda is out. I've started a full DLC playthrough once or twice, but I always drop the game for some reason before I get to any DLC content. Maybe around Christmas time.

Doubtful they would have the resources to do another 600 year trip back.

give me everything

give me a date
give me a trilogy remaster
give me a mobile tie in game
give me some new novels
give me a happy meal toy

pump it in to my veins
Same. Give the people what they want EA/Bioware! Let us give you our money and be your bitches for a little while longer!

I want to see some major visual upgrades! the tech demo they released as their '4k' render did not impress me one bit. I even watched it twice on my 4k tv to ensure i was watching as they intended.

That's basically near final work. If you're expecting or hoping for some massive graphical upgrade over that, you're setting yourself up to be disappointed.

Lets wait and see what game looks like when you aren't knee deep in some dank dungeon.

I don't need the trilogy remastered. I just need it to be backwards compatible so I can play through it before the new game.

I'm noticing a lot of posts on here taking it for granted that the expedition is officially in response to the Reaper threat. It's been a while for me but when last I checked the jury was still out as to whether the ark ships launched before or after ME3's endings. Do we have confirmation now that the answer is before? Folks seem to be speaking as such.

We don't even know that the participants have any idea about a Reaper invasion.

It's before, Mac said they would leave "before the players major decisions in ME3" or some such. It was a video interview I think, lemme see if I can find it.

Ah, neat. Thank you.

Yeah, you're right. I just remember seeing ME for the first time.. i couldn't believe what i was seeing! :) Truly Paragon.

That is also true. Re-watching some of the trailer they already have out, that art is quite impressive. I'm still a day 1 buyer, but i just want to shake the cage up a little :P

They know that Reaper invasion and war was imminent in MW and that they are sent out to Andromeda as means to save races of MW, in case they fail to fight Reapers off. What they don't know is if MW survived the war.

All races know about Reapers after ME1 and they become extreme threat after ME2.
