The N7 Day 2016 Thread

Oh man I totally forgot about that. I hope that's still something they're aiming for.

I imagine so. Considering some of Inquisition's features got cut because they had to support cross-gen, with ME:A being PS4/XB1/PC only and Frostbite being a fairly mature engine...there's a good chance :P

Standard edition cover is beautiful and very Mass Effect. The curve shape with the lens flare is the iconic ME look and doubles nicely as a helmet and planet.

It really is a beautiful piece of box art.... so hype, my biotics are about to explode.

It's 5.15am here in NZ, I have a meeting at 11am...maybe I'll just put that bad boy off, no meetings till 3pm then (downwards hype spiral begins).

Not a very good standard cover, imo.

The deluxe one is even worse:

They know that Reaper invasion and war was imminent in MW and that they are sent out to Andromeda as means to save races of MW, in case they fail to fight Reapers off. What they don't know is if MW survived the war.

All races know about Reapers after ME1 and they become extreme threat after ME2.

Err, no that's not true. Especially considering the Council's official stance after ME1 that Sovereign was a geth ship. But the Reapers are by no means public knowledge after ME1, at least not as a legitimate threat.

I'm kinda disappointed we play as the offspring of the initial dude on the Ark. I thought the whole point was being the first from the ME galaxy to go to the new galaxy...
There was a teaser that showed N7 dude(confirmed to be Papa Ryder) and someone dressed in the blue and white Andromeda Initiative armor standing on the moon looking at Earth. Also, one of the other teasers showed female Ryder waking up and saying "We made it." Obviously this is speculation, but I'm pretty sure you are the first to travel to the galaxy(along with your dad, sibling, and hundreds+ of others).

The deluxe cover is so bad it's hilarious.

It suffers from the same problems the Destiny cover had. The back of the helmet is weirdly designed so it looks like the guy is looking towards you but he is actually facing the other way. Lol

The standard one is cool.

So the deluxe cover potentially reveals that
Daddy Ryder sabotages the Pathfinder mission by destroying the Ark.
(my own speculation)

Wait that's all for the Collector's Edition? A mako and the steelbook??? Also, 199 for a remote controlled one??? In the season where every game is coming out?

Sci-Fi Sword? You mean his Omni-Blade?

This was part of ME3 and is an established weapon of the almighty Shepard :)

Really like the Regular and Collector's covers, that's a great visual. Less fond of the Deluxe.

The nomad doesn't have guns?

I think I remember reading it does, they might have just used a no-guns model for the toy because of age restrictions for that sort of thing in some countries.

Aaaand there won't be PC version of this. I'm sure of it.

P.S. Why they're using this shitty art and put it on a collector's edition box? WTF? Use something else for the love of god EA!

Recent EA collector's editions have been platform agnostic (no game included).

My memory fails me then. I could have sworn that races actually weren't morons for plot reason and acknowledged existence of Reapers after ME1. Meh. Thanks for correcting.

Maybe today is the day I finally start the trilogy. We'll see. Will the hype consume me?

Maybe if you just stop playing after ME2's credits roll and you pretend that was the trilogy. ME3 is so 50-50 and could go either way.

Basically my guess is that the Council started the Andromeda initiative as a response to the Reaper threat, but that's the "secret" reason and the official reason is just exploration.

Just get the artbook, soundtrack, and game separately and you're set for a quality collector's edition without having to spend $100+

Whatever they show I just hope they can bring me back into the franchise. Mass Effect 2 is likely my least favorite sequel of all time and after several play through I don't understand why it's lauded at all. 3 was a lot better but it wasn't enough to hype me up for any more mass effect. After they destroyed what made the first game so great I would have just preferred then to create a new IP. Here's to hoping they show something good....
