The N7 Day 2016 Thread

Gameinformer has some articles. It feels like they're doing the Bioware trope of early death in the family again. Am I justified in being skeptical if they're going to pull it off properly this time? Cause I still have the bad aftertaste of how it was done in DA2

The way they have been marketing this game is among the worst I've ever seen for a major installment of a AAA franchise

Like what on earth are they doing
 
Not a very good trailer. If anything it has me concerned that this game might be a washed out version of the older games. In theory, I'm really excited for a new Mass Effect game but nothing they've shown has really been all that intriguing,
 
Fucking Hype.


Weird that there were no Krogans or anything really shown in the trailer.


Can't wait to see more.

As close to mandatory as possible without being truly mandatory, I'd say. It's damn close though. It ought to be included, sure.

Omega:
Certainly the most optional fare. It wraps up a secondary plot thread, though. But it's nowhere near the level of these others in this regard (or any regard, really).

JeffZero knows what's up, Omega is the only slightly optional one IMO, but it's fun so why not get it I reckon.

Ohhhh BC trilogy finally: wonder if it'll perform better on X1?
 
Man, so disappointed we didnt get any actual combat or ability gameplay shown.

Trailer wasnt anything special in itself, seemed like just a new villain like Harbinger, and frankly didnt look as good as COD infinite warfare campaign

I just want to see the actual gameplay, we know there are new biotic powers for example but let us see them and the other powers like tech or soldier, maybe chemical rounds come back as a weapon type
 
Well, I'm glad I didn't spend days getting hyped for the trailer lol. Didn't really do anything to me, though the tiny snippet of gameplay looked cool.
 
Seriously what is wrong with me?

I was expecting like a 10 minute walkthrough video of gameplay, maybe a new race or two, the whole reveal.

I never learn, lol

I have to agree, I love the series a lot but that trailer is disappointing, bunch of explosions and extremely quick cuts under two minutes. Expected more today.
 
Dude Ryder being the face of the game is disappointing, but at least I think he's better looking than the default Shepard, so might use him and not customise, unless I can just make him ginger.

New aliens look super generic and like Collectors 2.0 from what little we see if them.

Boo to them making either the protaganists and/or humans special super duper awesome snowflakes again by the sounds of it.

Other than that. Yeah, that was by the numbers dramatic Sci Fi action. Roll on the game awards and hopefully a slice of the actual important part of the game: plot and character interaction!
 
Is... Is... is that it?

I mean its a pretty good CG trailer but we've had several of those now. This doesn't tell me anything about the story or character at all really. We already knew we were the Pathfinder or whatever they're calling us this time instead of a specter and the default Ryder looks generic as all hell. I mean Shepherd was still a pretty basic space marine but he had some obvious touches to his personality that made even the most basic image of him look interesting. Ryder does not, wish they had gone with the female Ryder as the default like they said they were going to before (at least I think they said that).

Even so though, still no date (come the fuck on already) and this trailer was more or less a teaser for the game awards trailer, for all the hype Bioware has been hinting at for N7 day if this is all they've got then I am really disappointed. Heres hoping we get some previews or interviews or something at least besides ME2/3 being backwards compatible on XB1 and the collectors edition stuff being announced.

I really thought we'd get at least a short gameplay trailer but man that was really just more of the same that we've already seen.

Yeah... if that's all we get today with regard to Andromeda, this is incredibly disappointing, and dare I say shinobi got all our hopes up unnecessarily.

Yeah it showed some new stuff, but no gameplay, and still vague "Spring" can mean anything from late march to mid/late June. Heck we got almost nothing story-wise either.

Okay trailer in a vacuum, but they hyped this WAY too much if that's all we get today.

They don't need a big marketing push until they're 3 months or less from launch. Hyping now, when the game is a good half-year away, wouldn't make much sense.

At least they're starting to build up pace though, with this cinematic today and a gameplay trailer in a month.
