The New Xbox Boss Is... Steve Ballmer?

Atleast the Xbox press conferences will be more entertaining to watch. His conferences are Always fun to watch. And he isn't afraid to act a "bit" strange, or better act like himself, when he is in public.
Why are people doubting if can lead the Xbox division, when he is leading Microsoft?

It's not like he's doing a particularly fine job.

He's just on temporary oversight. Companies don't fill these important positions overnight.

He is The company and guy who will fill this position

Why shouldnt he have full control of this situation?

I have seen some nice Windows phones and tablets commericals

Pretty bold ones to, a Ballmer balls out Ad route with xbox would be

Fun

We have known about MS restructuring their divisions around, and a videogame guy like Mattrick was never going to rule

The changes are aimed at cutting the number of disparate units and fostering cooperation between products so that Microsoft can better compete against Apple Inc. (AAPL) (AAPL) and Google Inc. (GOOG) (GOOG

The idea is to create 4 major divisions:

Enterprise business division
Hardware unit division <------- Xbox
Applications and services division
Operating-systems group

I never believed (nor did many others) that Mattrick would run the Hardware unit division, he is too "videogames" and someone with a broader set of talents would be needed. There wont be a "Xbox boss" anymore. Since that position no longer will exist

I don't think he'll be any more or less involved with Xbox in the mid-term; even if he has a handful of people reporting to him for Xbox rather than just Mattrick.

Wait, Mattrick left to be CEO of Zynga? I mean I know its a CEO job and that's a major company but why in the hell would someone leave his post to do that?

Talk about a sinking ship.

We released fantastic games, and, most importantly, we expanded Xbox to go beyond great gaming to deliver all the entertainment people want — sports, music, movies, live television and much more.

Ugh...

Mattrick jumping ship to a sinking one is pretty bad but apparently MS didn't see it coming. It was also rumored he'd get a better position in Balmer's restructure. Sounds like a clusterfuck to me.

The consoles are incredible all-in-one devices with built-in services that consumers love, including Bing, Xbox Live, Internet Explorer, SkyDrive and Skype.

Ahaha oh man.

Now this is just incredible, I simply cannot wait to see how bad this ship is going to sink(or not) with Ballmer leading.

Ignoring balmers stage performance how is he as a CEO?

MS share price has been stagnant for a long time and their core OS market is being increasingly in danger of falling prey to the likes of Apple and Google, and Ballmer hasn't been effective in dealing with those threats.

In other words, he's not especially great as a CEO, except for the fact that MS has had a a cashcow called windows and tons of cash reserve, but now their competitors have too (cash reserve that is).
