Figure Skating is the biggest downside of the Winter Olympics. Im a much bigger fan of the Summer Olympics Network Darling, Gymnastics.

Outside of that, All other events are awesome.
 
I thought Berezhnaya and Anton Sikharulidze were in this? Are they not? Could have sworn i saw them on ctv earlier. Looks like they haven't been around since salt lake.

And a fall by these Russians. Looking good for Canada.

They stopped skating competitively after the 2002 olympics.

Figure skating though you have the wipeouts. Winner hinges on who makes the least fuck-ups on the big jumps so there's that build-up and it's exciting. Ice dancing otoh.... Let's just say it's not a surprise that the outcomes were predetermined and no one could even tell forever.

Look at the face on the Russians right now. This is everything for them. Sucks to see that, even though it works well for Canada at the moment.

Holy crap another Russian fall. WTF is going on.
 
So how are the last two Chinese teams ? Are they supposed to be even better than that first pair, worse or about the same ?
 
I don't get it. Those Russians had a huge fall and ended up in third. Those Ukranians were pretty good despite their terrible costumes and music and only got fourth.

Going in there was potential of a Chinese sweep so they got to be pretty good.

Well, the Ukrainian guy fell badly at the beginning too.

Russians won this 12 olympics in a row, you are full of shit if you think something isn't up
 
Wow, looking at the scores here's a huge difference between the top two and the rest. Would have liked to see the Canadian pair, but I'm happy I got to see the men's moguls instead.

CTV announcer explained that they quite deserve this high score because not only were they able to cleanly perform difficult techniques, but they also performed them closely together with high risk. A good number of other teams fell during some of the techniques. So, yeah, very good skate by the Russian pair.
