300 million people vs 34 million

Eh let's not bother with that, then we'll have to hear about the climate and stuff. We're inferior when it comes to obscure, ultra-niche sports, we just have to face that reality

Norway has like 10 people. Fact is, given our haul in Torino and our whole Own the Podium campaign, we should be doing better than we are. Population matters to an extent but it shouldn't be used as an excuse for these Olympics given how much we are spending on sport now.

Sure, they are spending alot of money, but so are other countries

Can't really compete with a snowboarder that has his own half-pipe built by Red Bull

Hey you guys are pretty good at curling, don't be so hard on yourselves

... also I thought "eh" came at the end of sentences, not at the beginning?

Ya but then we should be able to compete with our supposed world class skiers who supposedly grew up on Whistler. A Finn won the silver in half pipe in any case. We should be doing better.

It's versatile, that's why it's such a great non-word

Our best skiiers were injured, were they not?

Guay finished 5th, he didn't choke that bad

Our top athletes become hockey players

And America's best athletes become football players. It isn't an excuse worth a damn. Best Germans become soccer players, same with French and Italian and a whole world of others. Fact is, we are underperforming given the jump in dollars and our previous medal hauls and also the fact we have a home field advantage.

And it seems the top Norweigans end up as cross country skiiers, thats what they do

Smaller countries like Canada have a smaller number of top athletes they can allocate to Olympic sports

France has 65 million people
Germany has 81 million

Can't believe how much she failed. Good looking girl but that fucking helmet of hers is hideous. Can't believe it really. She was up by like 3 tenths on the third place person going into the final heat. Ridiculous.

I am more disappointed than angry. :-\ Oh, Canada...could this be the first day without us winning a medal? Any other events that Canada has a chance in today?

It's as big a fail as you can get in skeleton. 3 tenths is a fucking MASSIVE lead. So depressing. Hopefully we get better luck in mens skeleton.

Ya, it wasn't 3 tenths on third, she was pretty much even with the third place girl I think and it was the lead on the girl in 4th. She had a chance at silver and what looked like a for sure bronze. Disaster.

I feel bad for Hollingsworth, she must be really upset with that final run. The Olympics can be so brutal, four years of training to lose it under a minute.

I'm really pulling for Montgomery in Men's Skeleton. He's been doing great so far and seems like a really nice guy.
