They just showed some crazy ass mid air crash here. WTF. Need to see more of this ski cross. Looks bone breaking. :lol

Ok, I may have said I didn't think Ski Cross was "right" (whilst enjoying the Board Cross), & I may still be correct, but it is very exciting.

Great stuff.
:lol :lol :lol

What a great story for Miller- went from the goat in Turino to the alpine hero and most decorated US skiier ever.

Awesome

I am so sick of NBC. Why in the fucking hell is Hockey tape delayed on the west coast. CNBC/MSNBC can have this shit live but when it is on NBC it is tape delayed.

FUCK NBC.

NBC is such a disaster. I understand the rationale of showing the big events in prime time, but there has to be a better way to handle things- hell they are even skipping medal events in prime time that don't feature high profile americans. Its just ridiculous.

Man, if that time is any indication for Ligety's future performance, he's going to absolutely kill slalom . :lol

USA had the top 3 slalom times

What happened in the Super Combined? I'm seeing all the favorites as DNF. Did some massive chokes give the USA free medals again?

I don't think any of the pre-race favorites DQ'd- they just didn't do that well. Miller did awesome.

well it's a tight track, most of the quick dowhill guys are pretty big fellas, so those that were fastest in downhill are not automatically favorite for a medal

Svindal obviously messed up by missing a gate, but he was slower than Miller already so he could salvage silver or bronze at best by taking it somewhat slower

Miller really deserved it imho =]

Well, let's make things a bit more clear. Canada is not breaking any rules. They're just not being as generous in this instance (skeleton/luge track) as some would like. Likely because the track is new and even Canadians hadn't had a great deal of experience with it.

And I said it was "largely bullshit" since people are making sweeping generalizations from a couple instances and acting as if VANOC is breaking rules.

Do Olympic hosts generally provide generous practice time to all countries for all venues? From your own link, it doesn't look like that will be the case in 2012, either:

But before we go casting aspersions, let us cast our minds forward two years. Director of elite performance for the BOA Sir Clive Woodward has been tasked with squeezing every last drop out of home advantage for London 2012.

And Sir Clive, as he proved in leading the England rugby team to World Cup glory in 2003, is not one to leave many stones unturned.
I expect to hear the same complaints made in London, as if they were never made in Vancouver.

You said it was all bullshit that Canada was being a pain in the ass for foreign athletes to train. Can YOU provide sources that they werent? Honestly down in the US i remember hearing all about was that they were being a Pain but I dont remember anything about them opening everything up. Maybe you could enlighten us all.
First off, I didn't say it was all bullshit. Secondly, the burden of proof lies with you, dude, not me. You'd only hear about the absence of provision, not otherwise.
