Ummm.. so where did these Russians source their Aboriginal Australian music from? Because it sure as hell wasn't from Australia..

in an ideal world my fellow Canadians would stop putting 90% of their attention into hockey and try to get better funding for athletes in other things like events in the summer Olympics...

oh well...they will forget this in a month and be back on the Leafs' crappy balls again :/

Great game, well played and exciting as fuck. The American media's conspiracy to keep America disinterested in the greatest sport on Earth continues as NBC relegates this to a channel with 15 viewers on its best day.

I had to upgrade my FIOS plan to get MSNBC in HD, what the fuck? Couldn't it have at least been on USA? Why do they hate hockey so?

... and the Americans begin fapping as if they've already won the Gold (seriously, save some images for the Gold medal game, yeah? :p). I'm not one to hold grudges though, good game and your team played hard. A lot of disappointing play from our end and we'll have to do a hell of a lot better in the upcoming games.

For a country 1/10th the size of the USA, Canada played pretty well.

Wtf dude? Hockey is our fucking sport. Even if we're 1/10th the size, we probably have more hockey players here than all of the US :lol

This could work out in Canada's favor. One more game to gel. Should trounce Germany and go into the Russian game with a little confidence. Russians haven't looked all that dominant either.

At this point though we'll be lucky to get a 4th or 5th place finish.

Don't cry, you'll always have that epic shootout win against hockey powerhouse Switzerland.

:lol wow

Shit, I am pulling my credit card to go to a Stars game even though they are awful this season. :lol :lol

edit:

Can our ladies even win at this point? I thought they and the men were already out.

Should trounce germany...

but Canada has a tendency to play down to the level of their opposition...

Russians were physically BEASTING out there today. Don't overlook them, or you'll end up with a few of your guys in the hospital.

If Canada had played 60 minutes like they played the last 15, they would have won tonight. That's where you've got to start changing.

What a game. As a Wings fan all I kept thinking is, "Why didn't Rafalski play like this last June against pittsburgh?"

Oh well.

I like what Team USA is doing with their hockey. Rather than a bunch of 'big names' (though they do have their fair share) they've built a real 'team' that plays really well together. They crash the net, they collapse on defense, they're active on the penalty kill, they dive in front of shots... tremendous job building the team, imo.

And what can you say about Miller that hasn't been said? I think I need to buy a Miller Team USA sweater :lol

Olympic hockey is awesome. I love it! And you guys know what else? In a little over two hours we get Sweden vs Finland. Awesome night of hockey.

One other thing-- I didn't mind the move to MSNBC. They didn't interrupt the game once for commercials. I know that they would have had to miss some of the game on the main network if they broadcast it there so they could air some commercials to pay the bills, so I'm cool with the move. Don't get me wrong... sure wish MSNBC came in hd for me :(

Pretty much. I wouldn't even feel confident playing fucking Iraq right now. Germany ain't the Swiss but who knows with the way these games are going.

At this point I just hope the Canadian women's hockey team doesn't choke against Finland so that the US women can deliver the same humiliation.

Or maybe the US chokes and gets knocked out in their 1/4 final. :p

This from SI's Richard Deitsch. "[The Canadian fans] have stayed in their seats afterward. They are in shock. No one is leaving.'

crazy stuff. USA!

A couple more thoughts:

1) If Brodeur has another game like this, is the rest of Canada finally going to let Quebec secede? :lol

2) Canada is one more upset away from being the Ohio State of Olympic Hockey.

So I've been crying over hockey and now my tv is showing white people dancing to indian music on ice and i'm more confused than when brodeur came out in the third period.

What is the next week looking like for Canada?
Is it possible that Canada may not even match 24 metals of 2006? There would be bloodshed if that happens.

that was one of the BEST Olympic Hockey game i have ever seen..! USA's Ryan Miller is insane 42 saves...

Shootout shot sitting on the goal line....I will NEVER forget that game

ice dancing.......the fuck, even John Denver thinks this is lame

Maybe for Canada they can finally get over their nervousness. they no longer have to be the "dominant Canadian hockey force." They just lost to the US for the first time in Olympics hockey in half a century.

With the monkey off their backs maybe they can come back hungry and with a team approach.

... but I hope not :D USA!
