The Official Call of Duty:World at War Thread

You don't have to, but if matchmaking puts you on a map you don't have, you'll just get booted from the game and directed to the marketplace.

In my opinion, the latest (map pack3) Zombie map, 'Der Reise' is the best map after the first original. There is quite a bit more to learn and do compared to the original Zombie Map but it's pretty fun once you get the hang of it. The other three maps are also probably the best multiplayer maps out of the three packs, also. (In my opinion)
Thanks although should I even bother buying the other 2 map packs? That's 1600 points right there.

I am only interested so far in the Zombie mode for map pack 3.

I would recommend buying the 2nd Map Pack too. The Zombie map is really fun but it's your choice.

A buddy of mine and I just started playing the nazi zombie co-op - do the zombie waves automatically scale for the number of players, or is it the same whether you have 1 or 4 players?

It's the same no matter the amount of players.

Ok so I played a round of nazi zombies today. After finishing the round and going back to the main menu I noticed all my singleplayer data has been erased. I clicked on last mission played and it took me to the tank mission. When I exited out, all the missions up to the tank have become unlocked again but the others are still grayed out. Does anyone know why it did this?

Thread Resurrection!

After playing Uncharted online Saturday, it got me in the mood to try some other multiplayer games I have like this and Resistance. For some reason I skipped WaW but played Cod4 and MW2. I gotta say it's pretty good. I was expecting to be camped to death but there's actually very little of that going on compared to MW or the new Medal of honor. People say the MP40 is the best gun(for noobs) in the game, but I think the Thompson is way better. The map design is ok. I don't really do good on any of the maps except for Outskirts. It's weird. I go 9-9 on any other map to 32-7 on Outskirts everytime.

Hey guys..

I'm reading here that this game supports up to 4-players online-coop???! Is that true?

If so anyone tried it, is it fun? me and my friends are thinking of picking this game up for PS3

PC actually has an interesting selection of custom maps, although CoD4 has promod which would probably net you a bigger playerbase. Blops 2 had a decent PC playerbase as well though I imagine it has fallen off quite a bit by now.

Ultimately I would not recommend playing any CoD online for PC for any tangible reason. Just play the campaign and maybe do co-op if you have a friend.

I've never played this (or COD4, Modern Warfare 2 was the first I played), considering getting it. I imagine the online communities for these games to be a bit weird. Not as weird as when I waded into 360 Team Fortress 2 once, like, 6 months ago. Never again.

Because I can't make a thread, and a friend is giving it to me, and it happens to be my favorite CoD. Problem Wario?

Great way to make sure you'll never be able to make a thread.

All the CoDs still have active games - just remember that the people who still play are either kids who can't afford the newer CoDs or experts who will own you no matter what you do. Also expect hackers as no one watches the older CoDs for that sort of thing.

I loved WaW - some awesome memories of playing it. Never prestieged in it though.

Ah the nostalgia, love reading through this thread.
W@W was the middle hold in the trilogy of awesome in COD. Looking back on it, this game was severely underrated in its time. I think it blows away the Black Ops series.

Blops 2 with no network issues = WaW > Blops > Blops 2 with network issues

imo

I popped the 360 version of this in a year or so ago and was surprised when the voices and sound effects didn't work properly. All that played was music and the background sounds. It was like playing a silent film version of the game.
