The Official Halo 3: ODST Thread

He's actually right, you know?

Not really, he actually has some great ideas at times, he just doesn't convey them in the best way. But I don't think it matters how he laid his suggestions out, no one would listen.

I really hope Reach has new people in charge of playlists, or at the least more than one guy does it. Halo 3's playlists have been laughably stale and bad for close to a year or more.

Tell me about it.
Not only they're bad most of the times, they're awfully repetitive

Really theres no right way to say it. I could be nice, and nothing would change, I could rage out and nothing would change.

Shishka is still tormented over the Valhalla fusion coil decision. He needs some time to think that one over. In 6 months he'll take a look at Narrows geometry. Thanks for your consideration.

edit. my man Vincent is doing all sorts of crazy renders and putting in some work for his map designs.

Bungie hire this dude. He's smart as hell and loves Halo.

Small world. I was just talking with Mickraider about his Campground design. He's teaching people to forge over at Forge Hub and that's the one he's starting with.

Would it be silly to assume we're going to get a screenshot of the Halo Reach trailer before 12/12?

Considering we got one before the CG Halo 3 one 2 years ago.

Just musing...

I generally agree, but there's a pinch of worthyness in what juices and co are saying.
That Construct clip certainly leaves a bad feeling in ones mouth.

Perhaps the Shiskha bitching wouldn't have happened if Bungie were more transparent about what his exact job is/how much time they'd have some one devoted to Matchmaking as their job etc.
*shrugs*

Question for those who bought the Halo Encyclopedia:
Is this all canon? I thought some of the stuff I was surprised to find in it were not canonical.

I agree. At first I thought everyone was being a bit hard on Shishka, but he hasn't really done anything to help himself out as witness by lashouts from the likes of Shiska, Luke, and one other employee (can't remmeber his name). It would be nice if Bungie was at least clear on how much support Halo 3 matchmaking is given. For a company that built itself up on the foundation of its community, they seemed to have dropped the ball with Halo 3.

This I'd disagree on.
Screenshots, saved films, forgemaps are such a huge part of the community around Halo 3. We've had the podcasts, urk, the bungie blog (totally stepping on HBO's toes in my opinion), 7/7 insanity, apologetic honesty (Recon announcement).
Bungie still go far and beyond when it comes to community.

It's this matchmaking business...
The point not-to-be forgotten, is that at the end of the day, we just want the best for H3.

I still have yet to pick up the Encyclopedia, and the new Halo book (Evolutions) comes out this week if I'm not mistaken.

Very nice designs. I used Google SketchUp before. Some people use CAD to build maps, while i prefer to use BAD.

Speaking of which, LEAPFROG ALPHA is done.

Your new home.

New smooth lily pad design.

Question. Is it supposed to be so difficult to get the Sniper?

"...a mental state characterized by a profound sense of intensified sensory perception, sometimes accompanied by severe perceptual distortion and hallucinations and by extreme feelings of either euphoria or despair"

This last one needed to be larger to show the details.

Yes, it is. =)

Also, just wow, thanks dude! I wasn't expecting it so soon. It looks great, shiny and smooth!

Dang, if I had my Gold, I'd hop right on now to try it out. =) Can you download maps with silver? I doubt it.

I don't have room in my file share right now. It will have to wait until we play again, or if someone can meet me online later today i could give it to them.

Next Customs night will be fine, if you're there, I think. Should give us the chance to play with it =).

Is it still possible to miss landing on that platform if you're a sucky player
=(
or have you fixed that?
You have to hold forward for 76.3857% of the time you are in the air
+/-20%
. The platform is now at a 45° angle so the new challenge is to stay on while strafing. It is the only place where i deviated from the original measurements.

EDIT: and 'something awesome' happens 3 times a minute.

I don't necessarily want to harp on Shiska but more the management of the playlists in general. I do think that the community would benefit from more than one person in charge of the playlists. I understand it is somewhat like that today, with input being taken from all directions, but having more than one person held responsible makes it a team project that will continuously be looked at by different people - and thereby more diverse by nature. Having clearly defined goals, deadlines and direction will help answer these complaints, while simultaneously avoiding the blamefest thrown specifically on Shiska.

Didn't Bungie say they are sticking with Microsoft as a Publisher? I haven't listened to this yet, but this guy is saying Bungie is going to have a PS3 game debuting next year. :lol http://www.hippidyhopdude/[url][/QU...s I'm cool with Microsoft pimping their game.

Man it's impossible for me to get four of my friends together for the Vidmasters.

I've been trying to get them since launch but can't seem to get it going.

I only have Deja Vu and Endure left for my achievement hunt and I was wondering if anyone from GAF could help out.

I have one buddy who is very good and will help but I still need two more...

Nah I'm a 43 in slayer.

You might dong on me soon though those second accounts rank up fast. :lol

43 sounds like the point where I'll have an aneurysm. I play with my sound muted and without a mic so I can listen to Stern while I play. In the 40s the other team has some idea how to point a gun while I'm sure my teammates will stay as retarded as they always are aka I'm gonna choke some bitches

Dude, I've probably played 10x the amount of Halo 3 than the average person who posts here, I complain out of love.

10x the amount of the average Neogaf poster or Halogaf poster?

Cause the latter doesn't even seem possible.

It's an exaggeration of course, but I know I'm in the top 5 at least in total games played here. That's not what matters, the point I was making is that I don't complain because it's the cool thing to do, I complain because I still want to play and have a fresh experience.

I don't have anything against Shishka
yes I do
You're right, we would benefit much more from an actual "playlist team". Having only one person deal with all we've discussed here must be crazy.
Come on Bungle, get a team to work on that. I'll help if I can ,just get me some booze

Count me in. Those are the last two vidmasters I need too.
