Says who?

Kyle Anderson's dad believes Shabazz will end up at UCLA. He's taking his final offical visit to UCLA this week/early next week before he announces, so that can't hurt their cause: http://www.zagsblog.com/2012/03/19/kyle-anderson-sr-thinks-its-shabazz-to-ucla/

Although this article states that both UCLA and UK's staffs think Bazz is a done deal for each, so who knows. Also, looks like several "industry sources" are starting to think Noel ends up at Georgetown: http://www.ibtimes.com/articles/324...mad-ucla-kentucky-nerlens-noel-georgetown.htm

Man, UK missing on both Bazz and Noel would be GREAT.

Considering we just won the title...I wouldn't even be mad.

That's what I thought after '08-'09...then the '09-'10 season happened :( But you guys are bringing in a much better class (IMO) than the one we brought in (Wear twins lol) plus you don't, as of yet, seem to have a cancer festering on your team either (Larry Who)

Man, Duke missing on both Bazz and Parker would SUCK.

Bazz not so much, I pretty much conceded him going to play somewhere else midway through last year. Missing on Parker, when the coaching staff, put YEARS into recruiting the kid, would hurt though.

I just want a quality big man to give us a true low-post presence and take us out of these dark days of the 3-ball era. (And no, the Plumlees do not count, nor does R.Kelly)

Seems like Parker wants no part of Duke but his parents really, REALLY want him to go there. Will be interesting to see - I think he ends up at UCLA with Bazz.

Well Cal failed in the NBA when he was with the Nets. He might want to prove that he can be successful in the NBA. It isn't that crazy of an idea.

That part is certainly not crazy, I'd imagine he'd love a chance to prove he can do it.

The problem is that NBA jobs that:

1. Pay substantially more than UK
2. Have a decent enough roster/cap situation where it is realistic for a coach to actually have success in a reasonable time frame

are basically non existent.

Like I said, I wouldn't be surprised if he went to the pros for the right job. But the rumors about the Knicks job in particular are ridiculous, that roster is a no win situation when you have to compete with Miami and Chicago IMO.

Thanks for linking to the source. I forgot that the Nike Hoop Summit is Saturday night. AWESOME!!!! *Sets the DVR*...Thank you for linking to the article or I would have missed it :).

I could understand Bazz wanting to stay close to home. Maybe he figures he will probably go pro in one year regardless if it's a UK or UCLA. But the article doesn't really have any solid information.

EDIT: UK already has Poythress coming in who plays the same position as Bazz. That might be a factor as well, I stress the word "might".

Lol. Well we know UNC is out of the picture for both of them so that would only put us on equal footing :P

Cal's UK big men draft status versus Thompson 2nd's, I think Cal has the advantage just in terms of big men. But you can look and compare for yourself. Of course Anthony Davis isn't the list yet. Does GU have a big man going in the draft this year?

As a basketball fan, it would be cool to see Noel in a dark blue Georgetown jersey just swatting the crap out of everything in the paint. It would really bring back memories of Alonzo and Ewing, but as a UK fan of course I would prefer he do the same thing just in a lighter shade of blue :)

so crazy rumors were going around about Siva leaving early because his girl friend is preggo...but he is staying. By far the best decision for him, he isn't NBA material, his size will be a big factor at the next level, and see him probably going to the euro leagues after next season. Not that I dont like him, just my evaluation of his next level potential

Louisville losses Kuric, Swopshire (Pitino pushing him out even though he has 1 year left from med red shirt) and Chris Smith

Returning ballers = Siva, Dieng, Behannon, Blackshear, Russ Smith, Nunez, Marra (sat most of year for injury)

Adding = Luke Hancock and Terry Rozier

Really hyped for next year, I haven't really been hyped for a basketball team since the 04-05 team, largely because I became a bigger football fan during the John L years. None of our losses are great, Kuric had a mediocre year, Swopshire is an alright bench player, Chris Smith is all heart but not a lot of talent. Obviously Dieng and Behannon are great, but I really think Hancock, Nunez and Blackshear will turn heads next year.

Calling it now, Louisville is gonna be that team that was overrated at the beginning of the season. Bet they hover around 10-15 mid to late season.

And if anyone was really doubting the Bazz/Anderson/Parker UCLA deal... check it >>

Odds these guys aren't planning on playing together ... probably about 2%

All three looked good in the McDonald's game. When do Shabazz and Parker announce ?

If UCLA wins a national championship you can add the sentence "They are ruining college basketball!!!" to the end of it.

only if they have a best friend of the coach brokering players and funneling them to that school

its not the one and done rule thats ruining the college game

That's how UCLA won 10 titles over 50 years ago.

**cough cough** Sam Gilbert **cough cough**.

But shhh, we can't say anything...Coach Wooden would never cheat and is the perfect example of all that is good and pure in college athletics.

We can't say anything despite it being the worst kept secret in college athletics. Bill Walton went on the record saying:

“UCLA players were so well taken care of – far beyond the ground rules of the NCAA – that even players from poor backgrounds never left UCLA prematurely (for pro basketball) during John Wooden’s championship years.

“If the UCLA teams of the late 1960s and early 1970s were subjected to the kind of scrutiny (other schools) have been, UCLA would probably have to forfeit about eight national championships and be on probation for the next 100 years.

“I hate to say anything that may hurt UCLA, but I can’t be quiet when I see what the NCAA is doing (to other coaches) only because (they have) a reputation for giving a second chance to many black athletes other coaches have branded as troublemakers. The NCAA is working night and day trying to get (them), but no one from the NCAA ever questioned me during my four years at UCLA.”

Even though I think he would have decent for us, I'm so so glad Harrison Barnes did not go to Duke, and he probably should be as well. He gets a pass for this shit coming from UNC that he'd get called out on by EVERYONE if he had gone to Duke.

The logo is better than he is

If he ends up being a good pro, and he may be, it is a good logo for that....but he hasn't done anything yet. I mean, people clowned Rivers for giving himself that Subzero nickname, and yes, thats a bit lame. This is beyond that.

I think a logo is less lame than giving yourself a nickname. Who gives themself a nickname?

You don't think that promoting yourself as a superstar brand before you are an actual superstar is a little...douchey? And yes, giving yourself a nickname is douchey too.

Just saw that Deshaun Thomas is coming back for his Jr year. Smart move. He'll probably lead the Big Ten in scoring. Plus the draft should be a little weaker next year.

Hope Trey Burke comes to his senses.

draft won't be weaker than this year. This year is pretty weak.

With all due respect to Coach Cal, I think that Allen Iverson proves you can quickly spend all the money you and your kids will ever need.
Well if he want to rot away in the D-league with Morris and Harris that is his business I guess.
The rumors seem to indicate that he has been trying to leave for weeks, which is bizarre. It would be a huge mistake to depart before he is ready.
