KENTUCKY, BROS

Don't be mad if you weren't paying attention the whole season.

Woohoo!

All the stuff that's on during football season?

Who pays attention to that? There's FCS vs BCS games to watch.

On a serious? note, congrats UK. Here's to your departing senior class, for finally winning a championship! They Did It!

Almost made it back. Missed a number of layups and dunks and Kentucky had guys who made clutch shots. made all the difference

This group achieved what better players for KU couldn't get done. Let's hope we play defensively like this year after year.

Rock Chalk forever.

I'm so happy for Darius Miller. Dude grew up a UK fan, is from Kentucky, death with Billy G., and graduates with a championship.

I live in Lexington, KY. It's like the fourth of July. Am terrified. I hear ambulances. Pretty sure people are setting themselves on fire.

I hope your car is in your garage.

Thank god I love in Louisville. :jnc

Nope. I also live in a fairly populated apartment complex. I haven't seen one person in the past week not wearing UK garb. I've seen people walking their dogs wearing UK doggy sweaters and shit.

LOL I can only imagine. It would be great to see some local news footage of what the hell is going in that city.

a black cloud hangs over college basketball.

what does this new, dark world led by Calishady mean for us...

i'd say congrats. but i'm not surprised. once the injuries sucked the life from us there was no one who could beat you.

Seriously, congrats to the UK fans.. was impressed with how well your team played all year with it being a bunch of 1 and done or 2 and done kids. There's nobody who was an outright thug on your team like Cousins and Davis and MKG seem like pretty decent human beings.

Grats to UK. Was really fun to watch them this year, such a great team.

Also happy for Anthony Davis. Great player and seems like a good kid.

And now my family is going nuts.

Can't wait to get downtown after one shining moment. I've seen 3 of 8 since I've been 16. Go Big Blue! If you don't hear from me again they set me on fire.

If Kentucky had any esteemed alumni I'm sure they'd be so proud right now.

Congrats, Kentucky fans.

That first half was brutal. UK dominated the boards and Kansas really needed to do well there. I thought they might make another comeback but that back2back 3's by Lamb really hurt.

I'll sound like the salty fan of one of the 67 teams that didn't win, but oh well...

Kentucky winning is a terrible thing for college basketball. Now that Calipari has shown that the formula does work, this will only serve to accelerate the nuclear arms race going on at the recruiting level. We will now have a very small handful teams fighting over the few "one-and-done" players which will in turn lead to three or four "Kentuckys" every season with no one else coming even close to their talent levels. It is the new way that things that must be done. Recruit the "one-and-doners" or have your program fade into obscurity. There was once a time when great college basketball teams were forged over three or four years of playing together, where players developed not only as individuals, but as part of the team collective. Those days are over. The '09 Carolina team was the last of that breed. Why spend multiple years rebuilding your program into a winning team, when you can simply switch out ready-made championship squads every year? At the very highest level, college basketball will cease to exist, replaced by shitty pro ball.

(And yes, programs other than Kentucky have recruited one-and-dones prior to this year. My school, Duke, has had two straight years with a player leaving after his freshman year. But no program puts nearly as much effort into reaching that specific type of player as Kentucky. This victory will inspire other programs to place a larger recruiting focus on the one and dones.)

P.S. Don't get too excited Kentucky faithful, the night is still young and there's still time for the title to get vacated.

Fucking Hell...Jerry Tipton would get the first question.

Oh please, if you don't think EVERYONE else is going after these players already then you're naive. And you can't just swap in players. You need a coach who can meld all those egos together. Look at Cal's first year. Arguably just as talented as this team, maybe more so, but lost in the Sweet Sixteen.
